Intent: To create a semi specialized lens to use in a lightsaber
Development Thread: If needed
Manufacturer: Sasori Research
Model: Lightsaber lens
Affiliation: Jedi
Modularity: Able to be put in lightsabers, able to be customized (new submission)
Production: Semi-Unique (Only A Handful of Characters)

Material: Focusing Crystal

Strengths:
  • Sharpens the Blade by making it smaller able to go between gaps of armor better
  • Able to be made into custom crystal lenses (new submission)
Weaknesses:
  • Reduces Blaster Deflection Capabilities
  • Strength of the blade still depends on power cell used

Description: Designed by Orihie with the aid of BB a droid, the lens was used in her specialized and highly technical saber to improve upon its design. Fastforward a couple of years and the lense has been reworked a little by the tech division for use in lightsaber blades. More availiable then for one persons lightsaber but still hard to get as opposed to the vibrational lens Matsu got at auction. The lense sharpens the blade, making it smaller and better able to go through gaps in armor. With the thinner blade it increases the focused energy allowing for a small increase to the cutting capabilities of the blade as it is energy more focused over a smaller area. However its power is still dependent on the powercell feeding into it that will provide the energy. Materials like beskar and phrik or lightsaber resistant materials cannot be cut through still without an increased power source. The other main drawback to it is with the blade being sharper and smaller it also reduces the area to deflect a blaster shot back or away. Increasing the difficulty of such actions. THe refined crystal of the lense itself means it is simple to make with the presses and machinery from Sasori and for custom orders from different jedi with the artisans.
Primary Source: Lightsaber lenses

Sounds good, [member="Krass Wyms"]!

Passing this on to [member="Spencer Varanin"] for approval! Thanks!

How much of an increase of cutting ability? Is this able to cut through restricted materials that are lightsaber resistant? is there only a small increase of how quickly it can cut through durasteel?

[member="Darth Vitium"] it can't cut restricted materials without something stronger going through it from a power cell. This makes the blade smaller and gives it a smaller area to focus on and it would be able to cut a little faster but the more narrow blade makes deflecting/reflecting back blasters harder. Kind of like the deflecting lens in K2, you got -5 deflect roll for +2 energy

Alrighty. Can you add a blurb for that in your description? That's all that is necessary for approval.

I already had that but I added in a small thing about restricted materials needing a larger or more powerful power source
