Character Sarn Ardeskian

BIO PART 1: THAT WAS THEN
A life of privilege was to be expected for Gabreel of Kuhlvult, seeing that he and his family were members of The Ten of Kuat; however, there was also a price that had to be paid in the form of a perpetual target on their backs as the aristocratic factions vied for dominance. Rarely opposed to utilizing questionable means to achieve their agendas, assassination attempts were commonplace, along with abductions, espionage, and extortion. To keep ahead of this ever-evolving threat, each family spent a good deal of their time and resources fortifying their estates and training their members. While on the surface they would appear as nothing more than a clutch of pampered nobles, lounging about their gilded palaces, in truth, they were more akin to a well-oiled killing machine, fluent in the arts of deception and death-dealing.
Not one to shirk his responsibilities, even as the youngest of nine, Gabreel took to his lessons like a beldon in Bespin gas. Becoming one of the sharpest shooters to terminate a target before turning thirteen, the youth would continue to impress his handlers every step of the way. Soon enough, Gabreel would not only be an expert with a blaster, but several melee weapons, including vibroblades and daggers. As for his non-combat skills, he would excel in disguises, decryption, and linguistics. Regretfully, however, not a shred of this training would prepare him for the explosive assault that would decimate House Kuhlvult.
Taking part in an annual celebration, within the allegedly neutral walls of Kuat City, Gabreel and his immediate family would find themselves not only caught up in the crossfire of two rival factions, but they'd be directly targeted by a third. What would later become known as The Foundation Day Massacre, dozens of high-ranking nobles would meet their bitter end as a bloody, hours-long battle ensued. By sunrise, Gabreel would find himself on the run, fleeing not only the city but the planet, with traumatic head injuries that would nearly do him in. Thankfully, the off-world connections that he'd established years prior would finally pay off, providing him with not only the life-saving surgeries he would need to survive, but a new identity.

BIO PART 2: THIS IS NOW
Convinced that he would serve the sparse remnants of his scattered family better by keeping a safe distance, a low profile was also in order, along with a reimagining of who and what he once was. Burying his affluent title, along with a number of his physical traits, Gabreel would emerge from his numerous surgeries as Sarn Ardeskian. Where once there was a man with longish, ebony hair, a full beard, and dark brown eyes, now stood a clean-shaven, dirty blonde with bright blues, one of which would be enhanced with a cybernetic replacement.
As for his lot in life, Sarn would turn to mercenary work, since many of his skills perfectly supported such a high-stakes yet solitary role. He could come and go as he pleased, serving those in need, while fattening his bank account. He could easily remain off the radar by playing a supporting part instead of the lead. So, while others made names for themselves, he would have to be content with living in the shadows. That being said, the man wasn't a fool. While he could've easily signed on with any one of the scum or villainy who frequented the backwater worlds of the Outer Rim, he instead took care when selecting his contracts, opting for those who had many more credits to spend on his services and, more importantly, him. Why live in squalor when splendor was still an option? Just because he no longer had a posh lifestyle at his disposal, didn't mean he couldn't maintain access to one.
Making a name as a merc with top-shelf tastes, Sarn rarely found himself without work since he had the necessary skills and attributes to back up such demands. Not one to blast a bridge too soon, it would also be his contacts that would continue to serve him well, opening doors - such as those belonging to The Eleriana - that would've taken a hell of a lot longer to waltz through without them.
