Sala'dine

Admiral of the Ghost Fleet
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a ship upgrade that pushes engines to the maximum with heavy drawbacks
  • Canon Link: (Please link the canon link if applicable canon item.)
  • Primary Source: Coaxium
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Saotome Foundry
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market
  • Model: Hyperfuel INjection System
  • Modularity: Can be installed on any size ship

  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material:
    Duraplast
  • Internal COmponents and sensors

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Massive Boost: Designed to inject a small gram of hyperfuel into the reactor of a ship. Sending it forward at speeds few ships can match.
Strengths:
  • Overdrive: Creating a massive forward acceleration to a ship using it. The coaxium strains and almost breaks a ships engine to makes it jump to extreme speed
Weaknesses:
  • With the coaxium being injected there is a massive acceleration, the ability to move the ship around and turn becomes nearly impossible turning all maneuverability values to none.
  • Short period: Barely lasting longer then five seconds the massive boost can get out of dangerous situations but isn't recommended to be used more then once.
  • Several injections: Is not recommended, more then one can strain severely or even break an engine turning the sublight engines into slag. That is from two, if they somehow survive to limp on then a third will essentially destroy them.
DESCRIPTION
Designed by Saotome as a last ditch plan, the coaxium injection system is dangerous to say the least. All measures to make it safe and reliable are there but the material itself is just to powerful in most cases to effectively be used several times. It is almost a one and done system that is for escaping a situation where blind speed that can send you launching into debris is preferable. Sala'dine's engineers worked to adapt it to what they have been working on. To upgrade and improve the systems of several ships that they have been working on. The system has generally three injections built in but those are in case of or as a means that it won't have to constantly be refueled. Using more then once ina ship can destroy and tear the engines casings and structure... if something survived for a third injection the risk of explosive results exponentially increases.
