---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+Special Forces Training: Samuel has spent a large portion of his military career serving in the Special Forces branch of the Galactic Republic Military. This has given him an excellent variety of skills in which he is capable, as well as ensuring that his weapon skills, both ranged and melee, and his personal fitness are maintained at a peak level.
+Mechanical Aptitude: Samuel was raised by a retired Republic Army mechanic. This has given him a depth of skill in modern mechanics that most people don’t know is possible.
-Lost Family to the Sith: Samuel was married once. He had a wife and a daughter. He had a plan to retire his commission with the Military and join the private sector to pursue an acting career. The Sith changed that, in their assault on Kashyyk. His family had been visiting while he was on detached maneuvers in an undisclosed location. When he returned from the detached maneuvers, he found out what happened. He may have an anger issue when it comes to the Sith and their supporters.
-Lack of Faith: Due to losing his family, Samuel has lost faith in force-users in general. While his anger is centered on the Sith and their pseudo empire, he has a tendency to treat even Jedi Masters as just another person, sometimes worse depending on the situation.

APPEARANCE:
Samuel is slightly above average in height and maintains a well-toned, well-muscled body on a naturally lean frame. He has brown eyes with some green and gold flecks in it, and black hair that he keeps at a military regulation length, only styling it when the need is there. He has a naturally tanned skin that is common through many descendants of the galactic diaspors, truly a combination of ancestry from Koruns, long time denizens of Tattooine as well as Corellians. Samuel has several tattoos. He has a ‘Lucky’ 13th Special Operations Regiment patch on his left pectoral, a Corellian Sand Panther and a Ysalamir on his right shoulder blade in a yin yang pattern and the Galactic Republic symbol on his left inner forearm.

BIOGRAPHY:
Samuel was born on Onderon to Jaymes and Karinda Quentin, in the city Iziz. Jaymes was an enlisted tank mechanic in the Republic Army, serving at the Iziz headquarters of the Onderon Defense Garrison. Karinda was a teacher in the Iziz Public School District. Samuel was raised with the mindset that military service was a family tradition and that he should follow in his Father’s footsteps. In his earlier years, Samuel was an obedient son. He would go out hunting with his family often, and learned lessons of marksmanship, landcraft and navigation early on in life.

When Samuel got into high school, he rebelled as most teenagers are wont to do. He pursued theater all throughout his highschool career, winning roles in every production while he was there and two leading roles. Through all of it, his father was a patient and loving man, and his mother was thoroughly amused to see Samuel try to get under his skin. None of it worked, whatever Samuel became interested in, Jaymes learned enough to make sure that Samuel wasn’t getting into trouble, but otherwise let the young man have his head. By the end of highschool, however, his rebellion wasn’t quite over. Samuel went to University on Coruscant, at that time it was the capital of the Republic, and while he did join the reserve officer training corps, he also pursued a degree in theater. While pursuing his degree, Samuel met the woman who would become his wife, Anabel Pharsh. They became instant sweethearts and stayed together throughout college and afterwards. Samuel graduated in two years, unable to contain the go getter attitude that was instilled in him since birth, with a Bachelors of Arts in Theater and Stage Management.

After college, Samuel respected his contract with the Republic Military and took a commission in an aerial support company, flying dropships and gunships in support of ground troops. He maintained correspondence with Anabel, and after she graduated, they married. Samuel was stationed on Kashyyk, where he and Anabel had a daughter, Phadra. After six years and three moves, Samuel and his family were living on Onderon, in a house around the corner from Samuel’s parents while Sam was stationed at the Iziz headquarters of the Onderon Defense Garrison, from which his father had recently retired.

Tragedy struck while Samuel was deployed for extended maneuvers at a classified location. During his deployment, Anabel and Phadra took a trip to visit friends on Kashyyk. The trip was poorly timed, as a One Sith invasion force assaulted the Wookiee homeworld. In the fighting, both Anabel and Phadra were killed. When Samuel returned from deployment, the military was right there with the news and the offer of counseling. Samuel was devastated. For the past few years, Samuel and Anabel had been talking about Samuel retiring from the military to pursue an acting career on Onderon. Those dreams had gone up in smoke faster than the Wroshyr trees. Samuel took a few days, living on base to allow his head to clear from the trauma of losing his family. His decision, when he made it, was one that shocked everyone. Samuel elected to undergo special operations selection, no longer having the stomach to move into the private sector, nor to even remain in Iziz where he and Anabel and Phadra had so many memories. He made it through selection without an issue, having been raised to landcraft, navigation and marksmanship, and being a dedicated and determined student of the other skills required to progress through training.

Upon graduating fom advanced training, Jaymes, now well past his prime, told Samuel the one thing that he had kept secret. Jaymes had been a special operations soldier before becoming a maintenance technician. He handed Samuel his old combat knife and wished him well.
Samuels special operations career took him many places, taught him many things, and are all classified beyond easy access by most people. What is known is that for those first few years, Samuel volunteered for the most dangerous missions, and any that would take him near Sith space. On most missions he attained the goal of the mission and received glowing reviews from comrades and controllers. On some, particularly those where he was placed with either Jedi or a military force user, Samuel showed a much rougher side. He would never mistreat an ally, but he often did not treat the force users with the deference the rest of the Republic and Galaxy seem to, even to the point of berating them on using the force to do some things that Samuel figured were just as easily and well done by hand.

Now, Samuel is a Commander and Executive Officer of the Lucky 13th Special Operations Regiment, and coordinator of a secret Republic Military project named Project Taurek. He maintains his professionalism, even though he still takes to combat with the men beneath him, having been known to even take part in operations that only call for platoon or company size units. Some insist that this type of activity can be seen as micro managing, but his men and women love him, and love knowing that Samuel is not only competent enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with them, but that he is willing to do so regularly as well.
