STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
+ Studious
Salvane is a quick learner, and learning is one of his favorite things to do. It does not take him long at all to grasp a concept, in fact he does so quite quickly. In terms of pure logical data, such as mathematics, linguistics, engineering, etc., his intellect can be seen as prodigious.
+ Observant
Salvane lets little escape his observation, and has a near photographic memory to boot. He is quite adept at reading people and situations, and using thought to turn them in his favor.
+ Dexterous
From childhood Salvane has enjoyed climbing, running, jumping. He's flexible and light on his feet, and is quite adept at fleeing.
- Impious
Despite being a Force-sensitive and incredibly intelligent, Salvane struggles with concepts such as faith and instinct. There is very little science to feeling something, be it as minimal as a hunch to as grand as the Force itself.
- Arrogant
Salvane is quite proud of his intelligence, and it shows. He is haughty and proud, and has a hard time admitting when he's wrong. When proven wrong, he tends to become, pouty, irritable, aloof, or sometimes, all three at once.
- Frail
Bookworm, nerd, and twig are all words that could very well suit Salvane. He's not strong. Not in general, not relative to humans in his age group. He does have a fair amount of stamina, but lacks lifting and striking strength.
APPEARANCE:
Salvane is skinny, average height, and pale. He has jet black hair that hangs from his head to his shoulders in waves, and a stern, precocious face. He's the kind of guy that would be quite attractive if he bothered. Instead his entire visage screams bookish, quiet, judgmental. His eyes are very cold and calculating, and appropriately, are the color of ice. He's usually wearing well-kept clothing, and has a preference for black shirts. However, no matter what outfit he dons, he always has a brown leather belt around his waist. The belt holds various easily transported tools for quick fixes and a heavily customized DC-17. The blaster has been modified to fire slightly weaker rounds, which in turn reduces recoil and increases accuracy, mainly to make it easier on him to fire. It also has custom sights for better target acquisition and rounded-off edges to increase draw speed and reduce the chance of it getting snagged on the belt. He also often wears a weathered traveler's cloak with a hood. The length of the cloak extends to the middle of his thighs.
BIOGRAPHY:
Salvane was born on Dantooine to Sirris Ontel-Irilen and Eygon Irilen. Sirris was a merchant. She inherited her father's shop, who had inherited his father's, and so on and so forth. Ontel General, was, well, a general store. Food, drink, medicines, clothing, toys, even the odd blaster sold her, and everyone's money was good. His father, Eygon, a lifetime ago was a Jedi. Eygon's immediate family were all aware and sensitive to the Force, and both his brothers had also become Jedi. However, Eygon decided that there was rarely a correct side to anything, and that while stifling emotions did present the lure of the Dark Side, it also prevented things such as being in love, or being passionate about one's life. So he left the Order and became a Gray Force-user, accepting aspects of both sides of the Force. When he met Sirris in her shop, the two fell rapidly in love, and it wasn't long before they had a home and son together.
From childhood Salvane had always been curious. Full of questions and ponderings, eyes wide with wonder as Eygon told tales of his advantures across the galaxy. It eventually came to the point when Salvane would ask him what it meant to be a Jedi. Eygon knew this day was coming. He had always known, since Salvane was still an infant Eygon could feel the Force with his son. It wasn't particularly exceptional, but it was enough. Enough to open the path of a Jedi to him, but also, and more frighteningly, the path of a Sith. He simply told the young Salvane that he would explain it more when he was older. He would lean on that for years, until Salvane finally put his foot down. He was fifteen and was tired of wondering. Tired of not understanding. Salvane knew he was different from other kids. His mind was faster, as were his reflexes. But it didn't feel that way. It felt like he already knew some things were coming, saw them mere moments before they happened. He hated when he couldn't explain a phenomenon.
Eygon gave in. He told Salvane all he knew of the Force, about how it flowed through all living beings, a form of energy that gave a Jedi his power. He told his son that he once used this power to aid him, as a warrior and a diplomat. It intrigued the young man. He didn't much care for the spirituality or grandiose nature of it, but the power interested him. How deep was the well? What sort of grand feat could he accomplish if he tapped it? He was praised for his mind now, how powerful could it become? He toiled over these questions for a year, researching all he could on the so-called "Force." However, when he discovered that it required such things as faith, and belief, and introspection he was discouraged. These things had never been his strong suit. However, he knew he had this power. When he dreamed, he could feel it. It was his inheritance. The only problem was his parents were very disapproving of the notion of him leaving home and training at a temple to discover this power, especially his mother. Sirris had no desire to watch her son become what she believed as super-powered killers.
Perhaps it was that feat and distrust of the Force that pushed Salvane away.
Shortly after turning seventeen, he hitched a ride aboard a transport vessel and began his journey of planet hopping, trying to chase down any leads to finding a mentor to train him in the Force.
