Sal's checkered past continues to follow him as he drifts across the galaxy.

The tattoos etched all across his body are sordid mementos of what he's done, though he never mentions them and will avoid questions directed about their origin. Those well versed in the ancient high arts of the Sith might recognize the runes for what they are: magic incantations, sigils inked into flesh. Although they will still prove alien even to them, for the words and symbols are not from Korriban or Ziost, but Kesh. The markings are those of the Lost Tribe, claiming Sal Katarn's body for their own. Any who can wield the power of Sith magic to infuse those sigils and speak the necessary phrase can control Sal Katarn absolutely.

The use of Force Light to rid of the tattoos has been attempted. It failed to produce anything except excruciating agony.

After the cost that came from escaping his last master, Sal is loath to even speak of them, much less divulge that he is an enormous security risk. He's tried to carve out the symbols many times, but they simply reappear when his flesh heals.

  • Lonesome Gods: Sal reflects on the time he was shot down over the Demon Moon.
  • One for the Money: Katarn is at a club. Hijinks ensue. Almost gets his sack blown off by Keira Ticon's overprotective sister.
  • The Quick and the Dead: Katarn leaves the club only to run into a stranger pursued by several bounty hunters.
  • Malastare: Two Sith walk into a bar on Malastare. Their names are Cameron Centurion and Vehanv Kiva. Katarn watches them slaughter everyone in it... except him.
  • Nar Kreetan Nights: While on a job, Katarn meets Joza Perl.
  • Alliance Fund Raiser: Katarn goes to an Alliance fundraising event. He's supposed to be working, instead he tests out the host's mattress with a flygirl.
  • Blackout: Katarn participates in the Alliance retaking of Coruscant.
  • Return of the King: On a job for SIS, Katarn stumbles across a secret Sith armada.
  • Ace of Staves: On a job for the Guild, Sal tries to capture a courtesan by the name of Saffron.
  • Dead to Rights: The Syndicate steal Sal's bird and force him to do a job.
