+ | Tough Cookie | +

Growing up as the only daughter in a family of seven brothers, Safira has a little bit of a competitive streak. She’s always prepared for a fight and she is always willing to accept new challenges, even if they don’t necessarily work in her favour. Years of fighting with her siblings, all at least twice her size growing up, means Safi has developed a tough cookie attitude. No amount of pain will deter her and the only way you’ll see her give up a fight is if she’s been knocked out or killed. The rough around the edges fighting style isn't everyone’s cup of tea, but it works for her all the same.

+ | Regeneration |
+

One of the more impressive things about being half-Actaeanis is that Safi has the ability to regenerate her cells on a more rapid scale. Small cuts and grazes can be healed in the blink of an eye. The bigger the wound is the longer it takes to regenerate, but on average she can heal a wound quicker than any regular human.

+/- | Hearing is for the Weak! | +/-

Due to the drastic differences in Actaeanis genes and human genes Safi was born entirely deaf. For the first few years of her life Safira got by on reading lips and writing things down. Fortunately this didn’t have to go on too long. Having been born on a planet with the capable technologies to deal with the disability Safira has a device that enables her to hear properly. While this device enables her to hear more and further afield than regular human hearing, it has a tendency to short out of its own free will. Once broken Safi returns to living in a world of silence.

+/- | Immortal-ish? | +/-

Thanks to her Mother Safira inherited the gift of immortality. As long as nobody cuts her head off or stops her heart Safira will live almost indefinitely, or at least long enough for nobody to notice when she does go. One of the downsides to having a naturally long life is the rapid deterioration of mental stability. Safira might not be crazy yet, but she’s blessed with the unfortunate knowledge that she will be someday.

- | Allergies | -

Safira only has one allergy that she’s aware of and it’s a doozy. Another inheritance from her long forgotten mother, Safi is deathly allergic to bacta. This means that if she obtains a serious injury there’s no chance of her being submerged in the gelatinous goop. Not even to save her life.

- | Accident Prone | -

Safira doesn’t know whether she’s simply unlucky or just that uncoordinated, but she takes it in her stride. What she has gained from years of learning how to fight a good fight she simply lost in dexterity. Whilst a few of her skills are highly honed and can be called upon when needed, Safi is a little more lax when it comes to the rest of life. She can get things done when she puts her mind to it, it just takes a few broken dishes (and in a few cases bones) to get there.

Biography

Safira was born in the most unusual of ways. Her Mother, being a plant based life form, had little want or need for a half-human child who would not fit amongst the lithe and graceful flora. Almost the minute she was sure Safi was healthy enough to travel she shipped her off into the care of the lover she had known a single night. The old Mandalorian warrior, who made his home residing on the CIS controlled Shimia, had little knowledge of the other half of Safira’s genetic make up. He did his best to provide her with a life that matched those which he had already given her siblings. The youngest of seven brothers, Safira was both spoiled rotten and bullied to no end. They both nurtured her competitive side and destroyed it on a daily basis, and Safi thrived on it.

As she aged she found her forte in hand to hand combat. She also had a particular fondness for the classic Beskad used by many Mandalorian warriors, but after a few near misses her Father banned her from using them entirely. Both fortunately and unfortunately, the first time Safira realised there were stark differences between her brothers and herself happened to be during a Beskad training session. One of her brothers sliced a neat scar into the top of her thigh. Once the battle was over the sparring partners searched for the wound but could not find it anywhere, despite the clean slice in her armour wave and the crimson stain it was surrounded in.

Having lived a mostly sheltered life from knowledge that her Mother abandoned Safi before she could even walk, her Father explained the mysterious wound away easily with tales of magic and luck. Her brothers, knowing the truth, played along with it until Safira was old enough to doubt the tales and realise that she couldn’t be that lucky all the time. Safi was crushed by the reality that her family did not belong to her. She knew the Mandalorian ways dictated adoptive sons and daughters were just as important as blood, but nothing felt the same anymore.

Now Safi sets out into the Galaxy. Determined to prove her worth as a Mandalorian in the eyes of her clan, the Confederacy and herself.
