Intent: To create a weapon that will help Kiran fight those annoyingly armored foes
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Vanir Technologies
Model: Saeva Directed Charge
Affiliation: Closed-Market
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: Durasteel, Detonite, Adhesive
Description:
The Saeva Directed Charge is a fairly simple weapon in design and function.

As many would assume the directed charge is just that, a perfectly directed explosive charge. However, the direction of the charge is not to be mistaken for detonation cord or breaching charges, in fact the detonite within is not used as a breaching agent at all. Of course if stuck on thin materials like thin durasteel or other metals it will push through it, but in fact the charge is placed in a housing to create the most substantial and powerful directional shock and pressure wave.

Armor in the galaxy is extremely prevalent with many people utilizing Vonduun Crab Armor, Beskar'garm, Phrik, and more common materials like durasteel or armorplast. Knowing this, and knowing that some advanced armors were simply impossible to breach, Kiran designed an explosive that maximizes pressure and shockwaves. This effect of course utilizes the creation of internal injuries in a target rather than outright cutting through the armor and damaging them using heat or normal explosive qualities.

The SDC as Kiran calls it is designed once primed to 'stick' to a target. To make this function the adhesive on the back of the charge has to be activated by peeling away a thin layer, the explosive then has to be manually stuck onto a target, throwing the explosive will not work due to its nature. When the explosive is in place it is then suggested that the user vacates the area by at least five meters, because even though the charge is directed, it still goes boom.

Due to the way the weapon functions, and the necessity to get close to properly utilize it, the SDC is a very dangerous weapon to use against most armored individuals.

Of course, the effects of the SDC are not the same for every armor and it is entirely dependent on the armor it is being used upon*. Against most armored foes however the SDC will result in ruptured organs, punctured eardrums, broken bones, massive bruises, unconsciousness, and even death. The effects of the SDC are not to be taken lightly, and the effects of pressure and shock waves on the body can deal massive amounts of trauma, exactly what the SDC is designed to to utilizing the targets own armor.

With the schematics falling into Vanir's hands, the weapon is now produced on a galactic scale.

*This is not a one hit kill, it will do the damage that is decided by the opposing writer, however I will always argue that it is significant unless an armor is designed specifically to counter this sort of thing.

I see nothing unreasonable about this. It comes with enough risks, and I think there's been enough of people shrugging off any hits due to armour that this'll prove popular.
