Private Saber Safari IV: On the Wings of a Hawk-Bat

CORUSCANT

"Hey! Be quiet down there," Drystan muttered, glancing at the rattling crate beside him as a chorus of high-pitched whining echoed from within.

He sat on a bench in the Jedi Temple courtyard, elbow propped lazily atop the noisy container, eyes fixed on the datapad in his hands. The screen displayed maps and route layouts of the surrounding area, his focus unshakable despite the occasional curious glance from passing Jedi.

Normally, the Shadow would have been tucked away in some dim corner of the temple, poring over research in the quiet comfort of darkness. But today was different—the weather was far too pleasant to ignore. The cool breeze, the warm glow of daylight—it would've been a waste not to indulge in it, if only for a while.

Drystan couldn't help but smile. This wasn't something his former self would have done. But he was learning, little by little, to live in the light. Or at the very least, to share it with the eyes of his peers within the Order.

"Interesting," he murmured, eyes narrowing slightly as he continued to scroll, thoroughly absorbed in his research.
