DESCRIPTION

In the wake of large scale disasters or other such events that leave large amounts of individuals missing or dead, there’s no better droid to lend a hand to immediate rescue efforts than the S3 Search and Rescue Droid. This advanced droid, the final in the Stendarr series, is built to effectively search for wounded, trapped, and endangered species to render assistance to. Unlike organic personnel, the S3 does not tire, does not get lazy, does not suffer from stress, and most importantly: never gives up.

Unless it breaks or something, but that's not the point.

The S3 has three powerful arms and two pick-shaped appendages. Enhanced by a gyroscopic stabilizer, the S3 is able to lift a great deal of weight on its own. When in groups, only the largest pieces of rubble or rock can remain unturned. These arms are not just for moving large loads. The S3 can safely carry and offer rudimentary first aid to most humanoid creatures. Large sapients that become corpulent naturally, such as Hutts, will need to wait for re-purposed Z4s if they wish to be carried. Aside from the gyroscopic stabilizer to lend it increased strength, the S3 comes equipped with two variants of scanner: one to search effectively for life signs and another to immediately diagnose those it finds so it knows how to handle the situation.

Although it cannot treat them as effectively as an S2, if the S3 is given adequate first aid supplies it can tender that type of aid as necessary. For the most part, however, S3s are designed only to temporarily stabilize those it finds before bringing them to devoted medical personnel. Like the S2, the S3 is programmed with a wide variety of medical knowledge on the more frequently seen galactic species. This is still not on par with the knowledge and expertise intended to be held by the as-of-yet released S1.

Just like the S2, all S3s are programmed to place the sanctity of life above all else and are, by default, very compassionate and abhorrent towards all forms of violence. The J1 Droid brain will cause the S3 to develop personalities if left without memory wipes. Tests show that S3s have a tendency to attempt to flee their current owner and travel to planets torn apart by war, famine, and disease in order to help the inhabitants. That is, if they are not already there.
