APPEARANCE:
Ryley is a human of average height and weight for an eighteen year old, standing at roughly 5’10 and 150 pounds. His eyes are have a warm brown tone and may show a glimmer of gold under light. His straight hair is a deep chocolate brown that hangs halfway down his neck in the back with loose bangs in front that he is often running his hand through to keep from hanging on his forehead. He may gel the bangs back when they are too long. His skin is naturally very pale, and has been tanned from his time under his home planet’s binary suns.
BIOGRAPHY:
Once upon a time, an unidentified man had somehow accumulated a massive heap of old, useless parts and metal scraps, so he decided to pay the planet of Belgaroth a visit. The night he was there he stopped at a place called Xot’s Megabar for a drink or twelve, and laid eyes upon a particularly attractive young dancer named Marla. They both were naive and looking for love, and both had plenty of drinks in them, and the man later payed for a hotel room in the city of Belgar. He had departed from the planet before sunrise.
Nine months later, little Ryley was born. He would never meet his father, but his mother loved him despite the circumstances of his birth. She raised him in a wrecked sail barge that had been adapted into a home, which was located in a scrapyard not far from the city. Ryley basically had two mothers, as Marla raised him alongside her lifelong friend and fellow dancer, Jaina Rupart, who had two sons, Reevin and Rupert Rupart. The teenage mothers continued dancing and serving in the Megabar to earn a living. Reevin was the same age as Ryley and was born under a similar situation, and the two were best friends for their whole life.
They shared an interest in speeders and swoops, having access to them from a young age because of the endless resources from Belgaroth’s scrapyards and a good friend of Marla’s who was a mechanic named Jularin in the city. Jularin was the closest thing the boys had to a father, though to their knowledge he had no romantic relations with either of their mothers. He taught them as much as young kids could learn about vehicles, mainly those of this class, and helped them construct their own speeders. Ryley ended up with a sleek red and white Mobquet Overracer that looked almost as if it were fresh from a factory, while Reevin showed exceptional talent and constructed a JR-4 swoop among other fast vehicles. The boys enjoyed exploring their home planet on the bikes and finding the less ugly parts of it. Though he had taken a liking to the handiwork associated with the scrapped parts, Ryley was never a fan of Belgaroth’s expansive scrapyards and found them to be an overwhelmingly bleak sight. This got to him as he aged and he would ask his mother why they didn’t find a new planet to live on, and she would say they could not afford to leave and start a new life. She also would often tell him that Belgaroth was too jagged a landscape for speeders and that he would get himself killed, but the boys continued to do it anyways and this instilled some near-lighting fast reflexes in them. This also heightened Ryley’s desire to visit another planet where he could see the horizon miles in the distance and participate in races that he had heard stories about from Jularin and the cityfolk.
When Ryley was about twelve, a starship dumped a load of junk into the scrapyard as it was passing above, and Rupert Rupart found his fate under tons and tons of scrap metal. Nobody else was unlucky enough to be out there when it happened. This cast Jaina into a deep depression, and a spice addiction from her youth was reignited. She became careless, and the habit soon spread to her son Reevis, then Marla, til it finally hit Ryley when he was only fourteen. His admiration for the spice is symbolized in his naming of his speeder Neutron Pixie, which is an extremely potent spice whose effects include increased reaction time and hallucinations. Reevis named his best swoop after the spice Crash n’ Burn. Ryley eventually saw the spice’s effects on his family and knew he would eventually need to get out of it, but he did not want to focus on quitting as he became occupied working with Reevis for Jularin the mechanic’s shop full-time. Now Ryley is eighteen, and his day typically consists of work in the shop, spice highs, and joyrides with Reevis. Like his mother when she was his age, Ryley searches hopelessly for love, and often without luck despite his alluring features. He has had secret romantic moments with Reevis, but dreams of settling with a woman. He wants real love, but realizes that Belgaroth is not the place for such a thing. Marla always tells him to be careful since most of the people he meets in the city aren’t there to stay.

One day when Ryley and Reevin were visiting their spice dealer's hut to pick up some glitterstim, they realized that the man was not home and Ryley made the decision to rob the house. To his misfortune, the dealer arrived just in time to catch him, and this led to a scuffle where Ryley plowed through the man with his overracer. He became extremely paranoid of getting in trouble for this, and Ryley headed straight to the spaceport to find a way off of Belgaroth, determined to get off the grid and avoid being busted. After searching and searching, he finally met a man who agreed to bring him on a ship. This man was named Liam Darkgear and sort of served as a mentor for Ryley during this time. They traveled to Darkgear's home moon of Dxun where Ryley was taught how to defend and sustain himself, without any spice to ease the stress. This was when he noticed that he was having muscle spasms, possibly as a result of his spice withdrawal.
After they left Dxun, the duo met Sam Kazroy, who hired them and brought them to meet a detective named Van Rolark.
SHIP:
Ryley’s reliable Mobquet Overracer has always been his only vehicle, and it certainly wouldn’t be called a ship. It is painted mostly red with white accents and a green seat. Under where the model’s name is printed, he has added the name “Neutron Pixie” in big, jagged white lettering. He keeps the speeder bike well-maintained inside and out and it can travel at the standard maximum Overracer speed of 530 km/h. It is equipped with one functioning blaster cannon in the front.
