Resol'nare
The Clans of Mandalore follow the tenets of the ancient Mandalorian creed, the Resol'nare. The Resol'nare includes the wearing of the iconic Mandalorian armor, duty to family, betterment of the people, and loyalty to the Mand'Alor who guides all to glory.

The Force
Long have the warriors of Mandalore fought against those that harness the power of the Force wether they call themselves Sith or Jedi. While the Clans of Mandalore do not view the Force with disgust those that practice the use of such powers or sorcery draw suspicion among the more traditional clans. Use of the Force in any aspect on the sacred planet of Mandalore is strictly prohibited.

Galactic Policy
The days of the Crusaders have long past, and the Clans of Mandalore now seek to bring peace through strength to the territories within its boundaries. Those mandalorians that follow the Mand'Alor now seek to destroy the institution of slavery, and as such there are no slaves within Mandalorian space. Many campaigns have been launched to liberate the peoples of the nearby systems towards this effort. While the Clans of Mandalore do not seek confrontation with the great powers of the Galaxy, conflict cannot always be avoided. An attack on one clan is an attack on all clans.

Internal Policy
Those loyal citizens of the Clans of Mandalore, adherent to the Resol'nare or not, receive the benefits of a stable civilization. The poor are sheltered and fed, the sick and feeble cherished by their leaders. Education is a right, not a luxury just as medicine to the ill. Clans are granted a great deal of autonomy, expressed through a wide variety of cultural beliefs and specializations. Under the leadership of Mandalore the people flourish.

OOC: The United Clans of Mandalore (UCM) is a Major faction currently listed on the Galactic Map. It sports a dedicated base of players with a lot of freedom in how you operate your character. Force using Mandalorian characters are welcome just as non-Force user characters are welcome. Many of our players have their own, custom, clan. The UCM encourages anyone who is interested in creating a clan to do so, the more the merrier.

SPECIAL FEATURES
[Links: Vehicle Sensors, Approved Technology] If these are notable enough to be strengths, please add them to strengths. )
Strengths:

  • Cutting Edge Communications: This vessel is outfitted with some of the best communication equipment available. Able to send and receive holographic messages at record rates, while also acting as a boosting station for additional communications in the area. Jamming equipment or EWAR (Electronic Warfare) is ineffective against this vessel.
  • Amphibious: The vessel is equipment with a quartet of traditional tracks that when deployed allow it to crawl slowly over land.
  • Maintenance Friendly: Given the relatively simplistic technology used in the design the vessel is easy to maintain, some of the more mechanical systems being easily interchanged with spare parts.
Weaknesses:
  • Sword or Shield: The limited amount of power output from the on ship power-plant means that either the ship can use its weapon with 1 deflector shield or all 3 shield generators but no weaponry.
  • Ancient Idea: Paddle Wheels are an absolutely archaic technology. Outclassed in speed and acceleration by modern repulsors.
DESCRIPTION

The Concord Dawn is the command ship of the reorganized Mandalorian Guard under Captain Ruus. Used mainly as a head quarters for peacekeeping and emergency service operations the Concord Dawn is not a modern warship. Oceanic warships have long since been replaced by starships capable of limited operation on liquid surfaces. But even a slug thrower at one time was a viable weapon of war. In terms of firepower the Concord Dawn does not under preform in any capacity. Casemated laser cannons make short work of lesser craft and threaten even modern starships within their field of fire. E-Webs, while old technology, are useful anti-personnel and anti-starfighter automatic blaster cannons. The Z-6 rotatory cannons are auxiliary fire support designed to threaten fast moving atmospheric craft and personnel.

Concord Dawn is equipped with a state of the art communications array that boosts the signal strength of allied equipment while also making the Concord Dawn itself immune to electronic warfare that seek to interfere with its communicative and navigational equipment.

The ship layout is a single, long, sleek, minimal keel, hull design with a massive shrouded paddle wheel on either side of the vessel. This shrouded propulsion device is located directly in the middle of its respective side. To the left and right of each wheel shroud is a casemated laser cannon turret. On the first deck (D1) of the ship is a line of 4 E-Webs permanently mounted to the deck. The D1 E-webs are underneath the smaller second deck (D2) which covers 3/5ths of the first deck. D2 E-webs are assorted in a similar way as the the D1 E-Webs. D2 also sports 8 pintol-mounted Z-6 rotary blaster cannons. Four on the bow of D2 and four on the aft of D2. The aft end of D1 has two landing pads designed for shuttle sized craft to land on the Concord Dawn safely. Magnetic locks prevent docked ships from being thrown off the vessel. The Bow of D1 sports a pair of twin-linked turbolaser turrets. The turbolaser turrets are of a sleeker design than the ones normally mounted on starships, with a much lower profile save for the turret behind the first which is raised to allow a compact battery and tandem, mono-directional, firing.

The middle of D2 supports the Concord Dawn 's bridge. Within the triangular shaped cabin is a command chair with communications terminal, and a navigation terminal. Two auxiliary navigational terminal's for bridge officers lay within as well as weapons control terminals for the operation of the turret based weaponry by a team of four bridge officers. A holographic map generator based on sonar and radar imagery lays before the command chair.

Aside from powergaming I can't see how the Concord Dawn would be abused. The technology used in the offensive and defensive modes of the vessel are canon materials. And often canon weaponry lacks the evolutionary power-creep of the eternal arms race of factor submissions.
