Ruthless Roulette [Karliah]

Dathomir

As a violent storm began to brew overhead, Elani Zambrano sought shelter. She could tell the coming storm would be a brutal one and she refused to be caught in it. Shelter was scarce, though. The wasteland went on for miles with no sign of a village. Elani could spot what appeared to be caverns in the distance, however, she was unsure if she could make it there in time. She didn't dwell on the thought for too long and began moving towards the caverns.

It's not very often that Elani was without a member of her clan nearby, however, she was on a mission she had to ride alone for. There was a soul only she believed she was capable of bringing under her wing. This one was of wild nature, something Elani understood and resonated with. The storm was an unexpected obstacle, however.

Elani pulled her hood ontop of her head and continued moving to the far off caverns.

The coming storm was indeed a harsh one. Karliah felt the approach hours prior, and made the final let of her journey back to the caverns in an act of avoidance. Further into these caverns a camp was set, supplies sat across the stone floor and a small nook in the wall rested bedding and a faint lighting. Resting on this bedding was her grandfathers grimoire, a collection of his knowledge and now her own.

Aside from her little cubby in these barren pathways, the rest was eerily dark. Making her way to the dead end, the girl held a hand against the left wall, following it further she felt the presence of another being enter. Quickly making way to her area, she collected her book and melded into the darkness.

Elani was lucky enough to make it to the cavern just before the storm came roaring down onto the desert. Vicious thunder and heavy rain downed out any other sound from the desert and echoed through the caverns. Elani already had a light step, but now she was virtually silent. It was dark inside. Lightning would briefly illuminate the first few meters into the cavern every so often. Elani felt her way through the darkness, keeping her hand against the wall as she moved.

And then, a light in the distance. Something small and weak like a candle it had to have been. She was not expecting another in the cavern and was not yet sure who or what it could have been. She readied herself. Her hand gripped the hilt of her katana as she continued on. Each step she took was silent and light. By time her enemy would realized she was there, it would be too late for them.

Elani looked around, but saw nothing. Nothing but shadows and a makeshift encampment. She looked over all that was there laid out before her. She theorized it being one person staying there. Someone smaller by the looks of everything. As she continued looking over everything, searching for clues, Elani felt another presence. Someone hidden by the darkness.

"Show yourself."

Calling out from the darkness a voice replied to the summons.

"And what would I attain from doing that. Seems as though its my only advantage here. I'd recommend leaving the pitiful sword where it rests, it wouldn't save you anyways."

The woman could have indeed called herself lucky to stumble into the caves before the storm hit, though another was beginning. The girl she had stumbled across didn't take company well, especially not so if she was at a disadvantage. The only hand she had in this endeavor was the fact she was hidden, though likely not for long. A hand moved to the saber at her side as Karliah faded from the darkness and into the light. Flicking the guard from her belt and pulling the blade to hand, icy blue eyes peered across the cavern to Elani.

"You come to my camp demanding things as though you're not the intruder. I recommend you leave, else I'll add your head to the collection."

Glancing over the girl before her, Elani would notice firstly the shockingly young age, topped by the astounding signature she radiated in the force. What was radiated however, was mostly raw energy, not refined, nothing usable or under control.

Elani chuckled lightly. "Big threats from one who fears showing their face. You could have attacked me without saying a word, yet you didn't. It's only us two in here. I can feel your fear. I smell it. Almost taste it."

Elani could not tell who or what was there, but she could tell they had a swirling storm of darkness within them that raged even more than th eone outside the cave. "So, how about you..." Elani slowly turned to face where the girl was. "...just relax." Elani removed her hand from her katana, no longer feeling threatened by the girl. "I'm not here to hurt you. I don't wish to. Not yet. But if you force my hand, well...I cannot be held accountable for what will happen."
