DESCRIPTION
When Saga made her Workshops services available to the galaxy at large, one of her very first customers was one Ghorua the shark. A 3.2m Herglic built like a barn. Who wanted not only a custom suit of armour, which was not Sagas forte, but a suit that was an upgrade from his current one. Never one to admit there was something she couldn't do, Saga accepted. The result is the hulking Sharkskin Mark One.
Besides straight upgrades, it did have some variance from the original armour. It doesn't have a life support feature, since as someone who works with droids, Saga rarely concerns herself with things like if what she's building can breathe which makes it something of a miracle that she thought to include the bio-stabilizer mask. It also had many of it's offensive capabilities switched. Shock gauntlets were switched for crush, as with the addition of the Big Shock feature they seemed redundant. Darts were swapped for a laser cutter, since Saga was of the opinion that darts are crude and on a practical level the Herglic is so big he may need to cut his own door occasionally. She let him keep the flamethrower. He seemed the sort who would enjoy it.
She offset much of the weight issues with an anti-grav belt, which could not lift the giant mammal off the floor, but did make him maneuverable. The joints she reinforced with flexsteel, making them far less vulnerable than such places tended to be. She replaced his voice scrambler with an entire disguise suite, because if you had the tech, why not?
In short, she made a beast of a suit of armour and was quite smug about it. Perhaps justifiably so.
Strengths:
Blasters - Beskar was known to be able to withstand even repeated blasterfire, and Saga included an energy sink just in case, ensuring that only repeated, precises strikes from a high powered blaster will give Ghorua any trouble.
Kinetic - With heavy armour plating of materials often used in starship hull construction covering the majority of this suit, a blow from a fist is more likely to break the attacks hand than to injure Ghorua. Should he be hit hard enough by kinetic force, his field generator kicks in, keeping even most heavy duty hits or collisions from being overly damaging.
Lightsabers - Between the armourweave underlay and the Beskar-coated Turadium plates compromising the majority of the suit, the Sharkskin is highly lightsaber resistant. Even the 'vulnerable' joints are protected from at least one strike by the armourweave.
EMP - For once, Sagas droid fixation paid off for Ghorua. She really does not like EMP's destroying the things she's made, and so ensured that she included an Electrical Capacitance Shield, which she subsequently hooked into the suits powerpack to prevent the notorious 'tingling'. She'd also noted that without the ECS, the Big Shock feature tended to electrocute the user, which might have resulted in Ghorua requesting a refund and so had to be rectified.
Weaknesses:
Power Guzzler - Saga is primarily a maker of droids. When asked to make a suit of armour, she basically approached it as a stupid, hollow droid. As such, she likely included more technological gadgets and doo-dads than a more practical dedicated armour-maker would have. Much of it she had good reason for, but some of it, the music player for example, could probably have been excluded. The result is a suit of armour that needs not power cells, but an actual power pack, and even that would eventually be drained should the armour be used for several consecutive days without recharging.
Big and Heavy - Ghorua himself is a good 3.2m tall, and not exactly light. Add onto his already considerable frame an even heavier and taller suit of armour and you have a figure that will legitimately not fit in some starfighters, through many doors, in narrow alleyways and the like. He will also be heavy enough that should the antigravity belt fail (which is utterly incapable of lifting him and was included only to offset some of the weight) there is a very good chance that if the floor he is standing on is not reinforced, he will go through it. Additionally it will be extremely taxing on his stamina and activities such as extended running will be entirely out of the question.
Hackable - It made perfect sense to Saga to include a locator chip in a valuable suit of armour, it could even prove situationally useful. However, someone with the know how and who thinks to look or is aware of the chips existence, could use it to track Ghorua's location without his knowledge, making him easier to ambush or train distance weapons on.
