Run Jedi Run

There was something about being lost in the middle of a crowd that was somehow relaxing to Asaraa. The thrum of the crowd that surged around her, carried a feeling of completeness a sense that you were part of a larger whole, a living organism that swept you along in its ebb and flow. The young woman closed her eyes, reaching out with her senses as she felt all the life around her, a sea of sound and motion that she could just drift away on if she let herself.

A faint tremor, a sense of discomfort tickled the back of her mind, it was a light touch, the faintest ghost of trouble that vanished as soon as she reached for it. The young woman flicked open her eyes, the blue orbs staring around with suspicion. Try as she might her gaze couldn't pull out the sight of anything that was wrong. Nothing looked out of place, looked wrong or suspicious, the young woman shook her head as she moved back off through the crowd, it was probably just her mind playing tricks on her, right?

@HK-42

HK-42 had been needing practice on the end of hunting and killing Jedi. With the new upgrades that he had received were made for the specific purpose of hunting and killing force users. Soon, in a crowd of people that he towered over, would his wish be granted. He noticed a Togruta woman walking through the crowd, looking around as if she was being followed. This woman was wearing Jedi Robes...that's all HK-42 needed to pick up his pace, and began moving up towards the woman. As far as he could tell, she had no clue he was there, nor that he was getting closer and closer to her.

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

She couldn't shake that itch, that feeling like a breath of air blowing down her spine, she imagined that this was what it felt like when people said that the hairs on the back of their neck were rising, even though she didn't have any. The young woman twisted around, her blue eyes staring out over the crowd as her brow furrowed, her gaze darting back and forth. She was almost sure there was someone out there, watching her. The young woman hunched down her shoulders, a tremor passing through her body, this feeling of being hunted didn't sit well with her, this inability to know what was going on, even all her vaunted powers with the force availed her nothing, leaving her feeling even more exposed and vulnerable.

[member="HK-42"]

HK-42 got closer, and closer to the Jedi. He was going to grab her, and end her organic life in the alley...even if it was a quick way to end the fun, this was still being a learning experience. Hk-42 needed to know if he could kill a jedi with the upgrades he had...even if this meant he had to chase her down, it also meant he could try to keep up with her, and see if his jet pack works. By the time he finished thinking about what to do with her, she was right within reaching distance. All he had to do was reach out and grab her, and he began to stretch his arm to do just that.

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

It wasn't anything that she could put her finger on that alerted the young woman to the danger, it was the touch of ice on the back of her neck, a breath blowing across her senses that sent her forward into a crouch. She felt the brush of air over her montrals as she threw herself forward, spinning around to face her assailant her body instinctively dropping into a defensive stance arms up to defend her body as she peered past her fists. She didn't know what she'd expected, a pickpocket or a thug of some sort. The last thing she'd expected to see was a droid, arms stretched out as she just froze staring up at him in confusion.

[member="HK-42"]

The woman became alerted to his presence, but what she did next surprised him. HK-42 realized that when [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] put her fists up...she had no weapon. She was unarmed, and afraid, as the force would not save her here.

"Statement: You're mine...Jedi."

Once he said this to her, HK-42's jet pack powered up, as he was preparing to lunge at her and end her right there. If she didn't dodge or if HK-42 missed, then she'd be his to kill.

The sight of the droid flying through the air should have been terrifying, it was terrifying, the kind of sight that paralyzed people. It was what Asaraa imagined that it felt like for an animal to face a predator, the sheer mind freezing terror that swept through her. But with her mind blanked, the Jedi's body reacted by itself, years of training asserting itself as she ducked down and to the side, one hand coming up in a parrying motion. Instinctively the girl reached for the force, using it to strengthen her body as her hand drove towards the droid's side.

"Not likely."

[member="HK-42"]

"Statement: You will be easy prey, Jedi."

He did miss, but landed back on the ground within striking distance of the Jedi. One way or the other, this Jedi was going to die. As HK-42 approached the Jedi once more, He ignited the two shoto wrist lightsabers that were a part of the new upgrades. He couldn't tell truly if she had no weapon, or if she was just not using it, contrary to his earlier assumption.

"Taunting Query: How does it feel knowing you're going to die soon, Meatbag?"

Once HK-42 asked this, he picked up the pace of his walking, going into a sprint after the Jedi.

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

The thrum of the lightsabers brought the woman back to reality, the familiar sound of the blades a further surprise to her. It was unusual enough to be attacked by a droid, but to be attacked by a droid wielding lightsabers? That was unusual in anyone's books, the kind of thing you wanted to stop and stare at...not that she had the opportunity to enjoy the surprise of the moment. She could hear the crunch of the droid's feet on the ground as it barrelled towards her, her metallic opponent closing the distance rapidly.

Asarra held out her hand, a silver cylinder of metal slapping into it as she took a step forward, igniting her saber as she swept it up towards his body, blocking his charge as the blue light from her weapon lent her skin a purple sheen. "Big talk for someone who had to sneak up on me to stand a chance," she countered as she fell easily into a duelling stance, her eyes and senses pressed forward, locked onto the droid locking blades with her.

[member="HK-42"]

HK-42 wasn't expecting the Jedi to block his advance...more of just expecting her to die. Their blades locked as she mocked his advance from before, where he sneaked up behind her to try and kill her there. This form of insult he would not tolerate.

"Condescending Explanation: I was merely giving you the chance to die quickly and silently."

"Threatening Continuation: But since you chose to fight back, I guess I will have to kill you in a less respectful manner."

The body, the upgrades, and the sheer size of HK's new body may of been different, but as far as this Meatbag was concerned, the speech functions were still the same. The internal Systems of HK were doing some work as well, doing several calculations about the outcome of the battle, her fighting style, weaponry, and calculating the best and most efficiant way off killing this Jedi, as he was studying her fighting style so then He may have the advantage over [member="Asaraa Vaashe"].

Asaraa could feel the pressure that [member="HK-42"] exerted as he pressed on her blade, the beams moving slowly forward and back, though more backwards than she'd like. The woman had hoped that a show of strength would be enough to drive him back, that the droid was just an opportunist trying to take advantage of her. But that didn't seem to be the case, stepping to the side she twisted, using the swivel of her body to knock away his blades as she turned her body away from him, presenting him only her profile as she waited, saber held in one hand.

"I'm not sure there is any respectful way to kill someone," she objected. "But if you insist I'd hate to have to cut you into salvage, but that's what's going to happen if you keep this up."

Once the two broke the lock from one another, [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] immediately cut half way up both his forearms and removing his hands. His calculations drastically called for a retreat, as HK-42 sparked an idea.He broke from his 'standard' voice patterns as he began to speak with the same voice, but a different pattern.

"Well...It appears my arms need an upgrade in durability. Perhaps you could assist me in getting these back on."

He couldn't pick up his removed limbs without hands, as he tried to scoop them up over and over, but to no avail. He'd actually need help getting these back on and functioning properly.

The togruta blinked in surprise, staring at the pair of metal hands that had flopped down to the floor as she watched the droid scrabbling to pick up his limbs. "You're telling me that you have lightsabers in your wrists...but nothing to protect them against your hands being cut off?" The woman reached out, gesturing with a hand as the hands lifted themselves up into the air. "I hate to break it to you but I think you got gypped. I'd ask for a refund if I were you." She wasn't willing to let her guard down, not just yet but this situation was jsut...well she couldn't not comment on it. Her lightsaber wavered in the air before hardening up her stance, banishing the amusement from her mind...or at least trying to.

[member="HK-42"]

"So there has been a design flaw. Flaws can be fixed...although I would need some help getting these back on first." HK-42 kept trying to pick up his arms, before [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] lifted them into the air with the force. He cupped them into what was left of his arms, as he spoke to the Jedi.

"You can put your saber away. You won. I have no other weapons besides my hands and the Shotos in my wrists...both of which You removed." HK-42 wasn't lying, nor did he really think she'd lower her defences completely, although he did think of something to break the ice a bit. "My designation is HK-42, although you can call me Grevious II."

Releasing the droids sliced off arms into his safekeeping the young woman lowered her lightsaber to her side. If her opponent was telling the truth then she was safe and a show of good faith couldn't hurt anyone at this point. If she was wrong, if he was trying to trick her...she wasn't so foolish as if to shut down the lightsaber thrumming at her side.

"Asaraa," she bit her lip as she introduced herself, tilting her head to the side, her canine's working at her lower lip. "If you promise not to turn around and attack me we can probably find a mechanic to help patch you up. The upgrades though," she smirked and shook her head, "you understand if we don't get those done right away."

[member="HK-42"]

"Well then Asaraa...I have no other ways of combat besides the lightsabers in my wrists, my hands, and anything I can get my hands on."

He started moving off to a nearby alley, where he had seen a mechanic earlier. He turned back to her, and motioned his head in that direction, inviting her to come with him. "If I'm going to get this fixed and possibly upgraded, I'll need someone there with credits...and to play off the role of Droid and Owner."

"Query: Shall we head over to the mechanic, Master?"

He went into the standard speech protocols of every HK unit to keep the image of control for other meatbags who see him with another person. He waited for [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] to lead the way so then she could do the talking.

"Waaait," Asaraa found herself trailing the droid who had attached her into the alley as she stared at him, her blue eyes wide open in disbelief. "How did I end being the one who had to pay for you to get repaired and upgraded?" She shook her head, wondering if this was some kinda dream as she stalked past him.

"You know," the Togruta waved a finger at [member="HK-42"] as she led the way down the alley, "You're lucky I don't call security and have you arrested," she pointed out with a sigh as she switched off her saber, tucking it safely out of sight at her waist.

The mechanic's shop was like any you expect, repaired droids lined up in the window and a harried mechanic working away at his table, barely even looking up as Asaraa knocked on the wall by the door. "Uhh...Hi there. My droid managed to get into another accident. I swear he's not worth the trouble but do you think you could take a look?"

"Do that, and my Master will be sure to sic his Apprentice on you, as you have no right to do so as the damager of his droid. He is not one to take people who damage his resources like you lightly..."

He was not going to reveal who his Master was, but he inadvertently did reveal something about him, that of him being a force user. He needed her to pay for the repairs as to keep the situation under control, without getting too many people involved. Once [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] moved with him to the mechanic's shop, and she gave the mechanic the story he needed, the man got to work.

They would be there for hours...3 to 4 hours to be precise, as the mechanic was having trouble reconnecting the arms to work properly with the lightsabers at the same time. Once he was done, of course, the man did request a fee of 750,000 credits. What would be done about the situation, would be up to both the Jedi, and to HK-42, as he could easily kill the mechanic and move on.

"Send his apprentice after me, well he'd save my masters the trouble of killing me themselves when they find out I just paid 750,000 credits to fix up an enemy's arms," the young woman muttered to herself as she rooted around in her pockets staring at the credit ship in her hands sadly.

There went her funds for the trip home, not that she was worried about getting away from here, but it might not be so...comfortable now. Reluctantly she passed over the credits, turning to glare at the droid as she stood off to the side. "You're all fixed up now, but don't go playing with people like that again. Next time I might not be so willing to get you fixed up and clean up your mistakes."

Raising a hand to the mechanic she span on a heel, nodding her head towards the door as she reached out with the force, gathering herself just in case. "So then Grevious II, what now?"

[member="HK-42"]

"Simple...We run in separate directions, and you get a refund."

He reached over and grabbed the Mechanic's head, activating the lightsaber in his wrist and killing him off like it was nothing. He was not expecting the price tag for his repairs to be as high for the amount of botching of the repairs that could of taken at least 30 minutes had this pathetic meatbag knew what to do...And he needed to get rid of the witnesses of the two being together. He reached over and tosses the 750,000 credits back to [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], feeling like she needed it more than this pathetic mechanic needed.

"I thank you for helping me Jedi, and this is my way of thanking you. You most likely need these for a more important purpose. My Master will still need a report about this, but Thank you."

Once the man was dead, and she had her credits back, He used his Jetpack to jump off over to the close by building to move away from the area completely.Once he got far enough away, He contacted his master, [member='Kyrel Ren'], to inform him of the outcome of the mission.

"Master, I have good news and bad news. The Bad news is that the Jedi in question is still alive and is still on planet. The Good News is, the damages she bestowed onto me have been completely repaired, and I have new ideas for upgrades to combat other Force Using Meatbags more effectively."
