Round one of the Tournament

Mrrew stepped into the Vulcan Industries Arena through one of the gladiator enterances, looking around at the crowd that began to cheer at the first combatant of the first part of the tournament appeared. He was wearing all of his normal gear and then some, all announced by the announcer as he stepped into the arena, as dictated by the tournament rules. His bandoleir and gunbelt, both of the Bodo Bass AEL design, sat over his thin leather vest and Lotek'k jacket. His heavy blaster pistol and phrik blade hung from oppisite sides of his gunbelt, while his shattergun sat in the sling on the back of his gunbelt. In his hands, he carried his web rifle. A few thermal detonators and plenty of ammo sat in the various pockets of his belt and bandoleir. The Tournament stated that you could take as much gear as you could carry... And an eight foot one Togorian can carry a lot, and still be pretty damn fast. He was more then a match for just about any soldier in the galaxy.

Too bad he was fighting a Jedi Master.

He didn't know that yet, of course... He was hoping to fight some human half his size carrying a sword and maybe a blaster pistol. A fairly easy win. He was about to be sorely suprised.

Jericho sat quietly preparing his gear for the arena fight ahead, he wore thick armor under his white battletorn jedi robe while his metal round shade hat covered his back. He wore his belt that held his three sabers, two of which were single bladed and one his signature double-bladed. He looked into his pack and looked at his organized assortment of grenades ranging from smoke to thermal and concession. He placed on his combat breathing mask, that helped him circulate his breathing what could possibly be long fights and help him last long, not that his stamina was to be questioned, due to his echani, teras kasi and personal physical training he was always in peak physical shape. When the doors opened and the announcer called out his name, Jericho stood up quiet and moved to enter the arena.

As he walked the crowd cheered as loud for him as they did for his opponent, he looked around to the crowd but then he paused. A great beast stood before him; the giant of a man paled in comparison to the mighty tiger. The great beast stood firm with a good foot if not two feet higher with a much larger frame than the man. A rare sight indeed. The white tiger was literally armed to the teeth, covered in a thick fur and numerous weapons including varies guns and swords, more than likely grenades as well. Despite his thick fur the tiger wore a unique leather armor, the gave out a fear aura. Most would be affected by this but in his line of work, being mainly peacekeeping with force with a side of sith-hunting, he trained himself to resist such auras as this.

How the tiger came across this item was beyond him but it alone identify the tiger to be one like similar to Jericho. A hunter. He had to assume the tiger had better senses as well as strength, agility and speed than his own without him using the force to augment those skills. So it would be foolish if he didn't. He has yet to face of with this type of species, so he wasn't going to underestimate his foe. Aside from augmenting his strength, speed and acrobatic, he decided not to use any other abilities to test his own mantle. He doubt the beast would drop everything he had for a hand to hand fight. He also had to assume the the beast's gear could face off with his saber, mostly because he has faced off with many other mercenaries that had anti-jedi gear. With that assumption, this would prove to be a not only a fun but educational kind of battle,

He bowed to the great beast. "I hope I will be a match for you this day, [member="Mrrew"]." He said humbly despite his voice being low and stern as usual. He went to the Ataru stance, taking out a saber, it's purple glow lighting the area around him. The man charged in quickly increasing his speed in a zigzag motion. Striking high to the beast's face to test his reaction speed.

Mrrew's eyes scanned his opponant as soon as he entered the arena. Simple robes, didn't look armored. A pack that could only contain who-knows what. And three lightsabers hanging from his belt. Fantastic. It was a fething force user. This was going to be a lot harder then he thought. He wasn't sure how powerful the force user was, he knew that if it was one of the stronger Jedi or Sith he'd be doomed in a few seconds, more then likely. If he used the force, that is. If it was a weaker one, a padawan or the Sith equivlent, he might still have a chance...

The whiskers over Mrrew's eyes raised as his combatant bowed. Was that custom on this planet? Or on his? Mrrew bowed his head. "And I you." The Togorian made a point of watching his every move as his head raised from the bow, looking for any sign of when an attack will come- or prehaps when a opening will make itself clear. The muscles in Mrrew's shouledrs tensed as [member="Jericho"] moved into a fighting stance, and removed his lightsaber. He'd definitely want to avoid that... He wasw beginning to wish he'd brought some ion grenades. And then his oppenant raced forwards. Togorians are known for their physical prowess, mainly their strength. But their feline nature also gives them other physical attributes that come in handy at times like this. Despite being over eight foot tall, the Togorian swiftly stepped to the side as a purple beam of energy raced towards his face. Was he going for the kill? Hm. They were in to close quarters to fire the web rifle he held, and if Jericho was moving that fast it would be useless anyway. Mrrew took another quick step backwards, in case the Force user spun with his lightsaber after missing Mrrew's face by a hair's breath, and flung the web rifle aside.

What were his options? He was no match in a sword fight with a lightsaber wielder. Hand to hand, he'd get cut to bits. He was getting to close for a thermal detonator. He'd deflect the bolts of his blaster pistol. His shattergun was actually perfect for this- it was virtually impossible to parry all of the shots at once. The only problem was it would tak e afew precious seocnds to get his shattergun from teh sling on his back, which would levae his chest revealed. Sure, he was wearing his Lotek'k jacket, but he didn't wantt o take any chances. The Togorian took another step back, watching the force user for his next attack. Waiting for an opening.

A great reaction time a expected of his great foe, but instead of taking a direct route and charging to take him on showed he was more smart than a brute. The beast took an extra step back just in case he made an extra attack. Jericho quickly read into the movements and the scenarios of which may cause the great beast to move in the way that he did. It also seemed [member="Mrrew"], didn't have the equipment to block his sabers since he chose to dodge rather than attempt to block the saber strike. Mrrew also reveal despite his size he was indeed agile as well as elegant. Which meant Jericho would have to go full force when it came to speed, as such he had to assume the beast was as strong as he was fast. Smart, fast, and strong.

Jericho stopped his attack and watched the beast close as he didn't make a move for a counter attack. It seemed he wasn't as aggressive, no, Jericho assumption with all of that gear that the beast was a hunter. More than likely he was for an opening, possibly use one of his many guns in his rather large arsenal? He look stepped slowly around the beast, if that was what he was thinking, the fight would end much quicker. For once, since this wasn't a life or death battle, he wanted to learn something and the beast would be able to do so. But not like this, he has been in many fights like this and in turn he knew many things about how to battle a foe like this.

What he didn't know was if he could take a beast like this in a hand in hand fight. Maybe, maybe not. Jericho quietly deactivated his saber and clipped it back onto his saber belt. He dropped the bag of grenades and tossed it to the side. He lifted his heavy metal shade and dropped, as it hit the ground it sent out a loud THUMP across the arena to show just how heavy it was. He kept his belt on for he was no fool, he didn't know whether or not the beast would accept the challenge or try to blast him in the face with one of his rifle. Without saying a word he went into the echani battle stance for fighting in hand to hand. He wondered if the beast would accept this and drop his many weapons as well.

Interesting. He threw away his weapons fighting someone twice as big and three times as strong as him. Which meant he probably had a trick up his sleeve. A second lightsaber hidden in his sleeve, maybe some throwing knives. The whiskers above Mrrew's eyes raised as he stepped into an obviously practiced martial arts stance. To be safe, Mrrew had to assume he was at least adept in whichever martial art he practiced... Which could mean no matter how much bigger Mrrew was then his oppenant, he cfould easily be beat in hand-to-hand. Nontheless, it would be wrong to just run at him with a blade and deny the challenge. Mrrew unhooked his bandoleir, causing his balster rifle to fall to teh ground with a variety of grenades and ammo behind him, clattering to the ground. However, he kept his belt on. Just in case.

Mrrew stepped into a fighting stance as well. Depending on your definition of fighting stance. He had no training in hand to hand combat- he never had to in a galaxy mainly pouplated by humans. He could crush 99% of them if he had to. And then there was the other 1%. Force users.

Mrrew bent his legs slightly, ready to leap aside if Jericho came running, and watched the Jedi closely. If [member="Jericho"] so much as tesnsed a muscle, Mrrew would know it, and react. Hopefully his reaction would stop him from getitng an arm dislocated, or a leg snapped in half.

(I apologize for replying so late, I never got the notification.)

It had seemed that the beast accepted his challenge, this was going to be really interesting. A lorrdian warrior versus a great tiger beast on hand to hand combat; though Jericho kept him calm demeanor a part of was going to enjoy this fight win or lose. And under those circumstances, well this was going to test just how strong he really was. Jericho took a deep breathe while keeping his stance, slowly taking a side step to the left. The beast remain the the defensive, how strange, a monster of his size and obvious superior strength and agility would have taken the chance to attack. Instead the beast bent his knees and stood in a stance, still waiting for an opening? Wait for Jericho to attack and dodge? Or better yet, to counter?

Was he merely being defensive merely due to the fact [member="Mrrew"] knew that Jericho was a jedi? He did not know but for such a large beast he was much more tame in nature. Jericho anaylzed their enclosed surroundings and then his gaze fell back to this foe and slowly he clenched his fists. It seemed that the beast wanted him to make his move first; maybe to read his fighting style? Or was he analytical as Jericho was? No matter, Jericho was more aggressive than most jedi, including sentinels and guardians. With another deep inhale of air he made his move.

Jericho charge from his position from a left angle, feigning a superman punch purposely leaving himself open, only to increase his speed with the force. As his front foot touched the ground he force jumped side ways doing aerial landing on his hand he spun his full force and aimed to kick the beast in the jaw and in the midsection, more specifically in the solarplex hoping to kick the wind out of him.

Mrrew fell for the feint, moving forwards to grab at [member="Jericho"]'s arm when he gave his powerful punch. Which, of course, left him open when the Jedi leaped aside, and struck him full force in the chest. His leather vest and Lotek'k jacket were both good for sharp objects, lightsabers, and the like- but virtually useless for blunt impact. However, the abnormally dense tissue that came from being a Togorian made sure that he wasn't winded, and was only driven back a few steps by the blow.

The Jedi was smart in hand-to-hand, as he had thought. Knew that Mrrew was waiting for an opening- knew enough to feint a blow. Knew that the Togorian would probably just hang back and wait for another one. So it probably came to a suprise when, after recovering from the quick stumbling, Mrrew raced forwards and swung his cybernetic arm to gran Jer'icho's shoulder, in theory holding him still to recieve the knee that came flying to his gut a split second later. Of course- Mrrew wasn't sure how well it would work... FOr all he knew he'd start shooting lightning out of his eyes any second.

The attack sent the beast flying back several feet backward, that was expected. In the time period of momentum and progression he was able to spin elegantly to the extent where he landed on his feet back into his stance. He looked at the beast for a split moment and saw that he wasn't winded and that was just remarkable. Could it have been the leather? Doubtful, as Jericho understood leather vests and hide were more meant for blades. So had to assume that or rather this was obvious but Jericho had a much better understanding of that tiger beast wasn't made with all fur, but instead a heavy layer of thick muscle. The next part wasn't expected was how fast the beast moved in to strike, it seemed that the hunter wanted to make his move now. Before Jericho could react, the great beast grabbed his shoulder rather tightly. A light grunt was made on impact and he had to act quickly, Jericho increased his strength again feigned the beasts in his shoulder with his free arm and followed up with a shin kick aiming for the [member="Mrrew"] 's left knee.

A normal human's kick to the kneecap, which would be debilitating for a human, would do rpactically nothing to Mrrew. However, with the increased strength the force gave [member="Jericho"]. it had it's intended effect. Mrrew fell forwards. However, rather then just letting himself faceplant the ground and get clubbed in the back of the head with the Jedi's lightsabers, Mrrew turned his shoulder as he fell, attempting to fall onto Jericho. He doubted it would work, since the Jedi was superhumanly fast, but he was hoping to take him buy suprise... And a giant heavily muscled monstercat falling on you wouldn't feel to good.

[member="Jericho"]

Jericho braced himself and went into a strong front stance, he increased his speed and strength as the beast tried to fall on him. Jericho wrapped his arms around the beast and ever slightly turned and slammed the great beast to the ground. Simultaneously he mount the beast taking out his saber activated it's purple blade to the neck of the beast, Jericho bowed his head to the beast as a sign of respect for a good fight. "Do you yield?" He stated in his strong and calm voice.

[member="Mrrew"]

...Kriff. That didn't work. The Togorian stared slightly crosseyed down at the glowing purple beamof energy, growing deep in his throat. Lunging forwards would get his head cut off. As would any kind of movement. The way [member="Jericho"] was positioned, it would be impossible to push him off. He could, prehaps, make a grab for his lightsaber arm, but the chances of him getting his throat burned to a crisp were still high... He expected the Jedi sto stick with his unarmed combat challenge. Which was probably a massive mistake. He could reach for his blaster from his belt while pinned, maybe even without teh Jedi noticing, but if he shot him he'd fall, and cut off Mrrew's throat... There was no good way out of this. So, in a growling voice, Mrrew spoke; "I yield."

The crowd cheered and yelled at the end of the contest between beast and lorrdian. Jericho stood up and help the beast up and gave him a very deep bow. "That was a good contest and I learn much from you, great beast." He said humbly as he raised up and held out a hand for a firm shake.

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew slowly got up, running a hand across his throat where the sheer heat of the lightsaber singed a patch of fur. The Togorian glanced at the crowds briefly, before returning [member="Jericho"]'s bow. "You suprised me. Good duel."
