Round 1: There's just one big junkyard… (T'zanith Zebron vs Greta Kohler)

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
ten_mile_plateau_by_corvusraaf-d9534bi.png

The Ten Mile Plateau on Ord Mantell was north or Worlport. A stellar-energy station was the only feature - but that had been abandoned since the Galactic Civil War. It was still standing but who knew how stable it was?

It was famous for being where the bounty hunter Skorr held Skywalker and Organa after the first Death Star was destroyed. Now? It was just living up to its name.

Other than the structure it was a plateau, with a sheer drop on all sides. Gaining the hight ground might be advantageous, but not if the platform fell into the chasm it wouldn’t be. And that was the risk the two combatants would have to take.

For either side of the station was a cell. Neither had line of sight of the other. Brought in especially for the event, one housed [member="T'zanith Zebron"] and the other [member="Greta Kohler"]. They afforded neither combatant much room to move and the bars of the cage were durasteel and unforgiving.

The occupant’s goal, as briefed, was simple. Defeat the other.

Oh, and was it mentioned that the cells were locked? Yes, they were both currently locked in with no visible lock. And then a claxon sounded.

Let the fun and games begin.

Ah, the Sith Tournament. A great way of putting whatever she had learnt so far to the test. A good form of practise as well. After all, the goal was todefeat each other wherever possible in the hopes of the betterment of oneself for the goodfor the One Sith as a whole. Greta had been totally up for that, and had signed up. Now, she was in the planet of Ord Mantell, in a plateau north of Worlport, locked in a cell, waiting for the tournament to begin.

While waiting, she had taken out a pocket mirror, preening as she killed time. Gotta do it in style, she would say. Her immaculately styled hair was in order, and she was dressed in a suit of neatly-pressed casual Friday outfit as requested. Except that it wasn't just Friday, but pretty much the only type of outfit she wore everday until the acolyte had a proper armour of her own.

A klaxon sounded that signified the start of the duel. Slipping back the mirror into a pocket, she prepared for the fight that would come, soon enough. Caressing her lightsaber hilt gently before that of her Dauntless blade, Greta sheathed her alchemised blade, retrieving her saber as she slashed through the durasteel bars of the cage. The bars fell like knife through butters, the ends glowed bright orange before cooling off. She stepped out into the open, venturing out into the plateau. Greta scanned the sky, looking for any sign of camera. She was sure the judges, especially [member="Darth Timoris"], would be watching somewhere, somehow.

Soon™.

T'zanith had entered the tournament to prove his own strength to the higher sith. He had sat down and meditated while he waited though he also extended his sight to find his enemy for this round, if he remembered correctly her name was [member="Greta Kohler"] or something of the like. His Saber floated above him as he meditated on his strategy for the fight, how to fight her and when to try to get the upper hand against her.

When the Claxon's sound came he stood up and took his saber into his dominant had, for a few moments he waited for the cage to open but once it didn't he sliced the cage into many and manageable pieces which he then moved them forwards and implanted them into the ground. His force sight noticed Greta quite quickly and he began to move in a slow and steady manner as he headed towards Greta's location.

He didn't know that much about her but he saw that she looking around in the sky and had been adjusting her hair while they waited. 'Good that says more about her than she'd realize.' He thought as he turned his saber on, he wasn't going to take any chances with this opponent. His robes bellowed around him as the winds tried to tug at his robes but they were simple acolytes robes, if not a little tattered around the edges as well as the hood's rims, the robe had seen many a use in both training and battle and this battle would surely leave it's mark on his robes as well.

Greta dug into force sight as she searched for her opponent. There, aided by the force, she founded a lone figure out there waiting for her. Moving towards her opponent with hardly any funfair at all, she stared at the fellow acolyte as she began the approach. She recognised the figure to be [member="T'zanith Zebron"] , her opponent for the current round. She did not know much about him or his fighting style and methods. She would have to play it by the ear. Adapt. Adapting to situations on the fly was something she had done plenty of times and what she excelled at. That was great as it was no doubt something that would come into great use before the duel is over today.

Igniting her lightsaber in a graceful flourish before raising her weapon back up vertically in the common position of the Soresu form. She then stretched out her free hand in a taunting gesture, indicating for him to 'come get some.' Greta was not one to usually start a battle in a defensive posture, but in this case, it would be wise to learn what she could about her opponent, and to gauge his skills and expertise, before moving on to the more offensive forms. After all, as the famous saying goes, to know the enemy is half the battle won.

T'zanith came to a stop when [member="Greta Kohler"] was closer to him and she took her stance to which he simply replied with a smirk. "So your done preening up then? or do you want to take a trip to the spa instead?" He then said with a sneer as he pointed his saber towards her. He had read about Dun möch and it had interested him so he was trying the principal technique out on Greta as he took a stance that had his saber arm elevated behind him with the blade pointing forwards and his off hand gesturing straight at her. He made small sparks come out of his fingers while he prepared his opening move against her.

He gathered the force into his forearm and let it build until it reached his hand were he let it slowly build in power and momentum.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

How rude.

This [member="T'zanith Zebron"] fellow was turning out to be a really rude person. Firstly, he mocked her preening earlier and had asked if she would've liked to adjourn to a spa instead. Positively shocking, and snarky at that. She couldn't help it if he didn't have any sense of style at all, but to suggest that she go elsewhere during a tournament? The acolyte gave him a mock look of horror at his suggestion. She was not one to abandon affairs of work for play, besides she would still have plenty of time to do so after defeating the likes of him. But she was not about to give herself away to him. Accompanying the mock look was an equally mocking pained gesture, with a hand splayed at her chest. "You mock my preening? A spa? Oh, you hurt me so."

Secondly, he had refused her offer of coming forth at her, only to return a similar gesture, gesturing her forwards. Very well. Greta would not tarnish the duel any longer and would be the one to make the first move. After all, she had read up and practised Teräs Käsi for quite some time now, and this would be a great chance to finally put it to test in an real situation. Live targets always worked better than training droids anyhow. The acolyte switched off her saber casually with a flick, returning it to its place at her belt, before unsheathing her Dauntless blade. Switching over from that of Soresu to the elegant duelling form of Makashi, she would give him the obligatory Makashi salute, before moving forward towards him, her blade angled downwards.

There were still plenty of opportunities for the lightsaber to be used later on.

T'zanith raised his hand and triggered the force Lightning he had been charging since the beginning of the duel, sending a lighting bolt towards [member="Greta Kohler"], aiming towards the middle of her torso. "Holding a metal blade while fighting someone who just demonstrated the ability to use force lightning.... sure your a smart little cookie there." He said with a smirk as he pulled out a knife from behind his back and turned his saber off as he placed it back against his belt.
As he finished his barrage he charged towards her holding his knife backwards as he brought it down in a stava style as he also brought his left leg up behind him. He moved his leg up enough so that he did a front flip and brought his leg forwards to the top of her head. He knew this was a very reckless move but he didn't intend for this fight to last at all, he wanted to keep most of his abilities in reserve and only use them when he'd need to really use them.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

The blade she wielded had convinced him to let loose with the burst of lightning he had been storing up earlier. Her plan had worked. Somewhat. It was more painful than she had anticipated, but there was that. As Greta had well been expecting such a move, she had switched weapons even when it was usually considered unwise to do so. Nevertheless, she took the incoming lightning with her sword raised, and feet planted on the ground, gritting her teeth as she did so. Pain. It was a necessary evil early on in the battle, as it kept one grounded and more cautious when it came to future manoeuvres. She ignored his snarky jab and instead focused on the onslaught of lightning at hand as her mind went into action, formulating her upcoming move. Her hair felt a little singed, and so did her clothes, but that was a small matter. The force would give her strength, so would the dark side. She just had to trust in it.

Being susceptible to the force lightning had set her back by quite a bit, but not that much that she'd miss him taking out a knife of his own as he placed his saber back into place. She'd have her training with Teräs Käsi to thank for the enhanced speed. It was time for some payback of her own. Unleashing a barrage of force lightning oh her own, she finally retorted. "Hey cookie, just returning the favour!" Greta was interested to see how he would take the shock.

[member="T'zanith Zebron"] finally charged towards her head on into the melee. Greta raised up the sword in a diagonal slanted position as she intercepted his incoming leg with a quick and decisive elbow smash. After all, anticipating moves was part and parcel of the combat discipline. Being in the air from his front flip would leave him momentarily susceptible to an attack, which if was successful would see him landing on the ground, hard.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

The lightning he had gotten back from [member="Greta Kohler"] had been barely redirected with a small tube of the force around his hands though he did get quite a bit of the lightning which left his hand a little numb and on pins and needles. He still pushed through and initiated his attack seeing it as a must at this point. However when he was thrown he landed a feet or two away from her and he landed hard and rolled along the ground before he jumped back up.
'Oh this will be interesting.' He thought as he moved his hand up to pick a few pebbles up with the force and then as he charged towards her, he sent the pebbles towards her hailing her with small pebbles as a distraction as he sprinted towards Greta and then came up on her after he had sent the last of the small pebbles at her only to come along and throw an uppercut towards her before another would be sent into her chest.
Stava and K'thri were useful against a Teras kasi user since K'thri focused on increasing fluidity and speed while stava would come in handy in the second strike he sent towards her shoulder, a nerve strike to either hinder her use of or at least to numb her shoulder and arm.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

The lightning from Greta barely seemed to affect him from what she could see. [member="T'zanith Zebron"] seemed to be the unstoppable foe that he was, until he was thrown, landing a feet or two away from her. Despite landing hard, from what she could see, he simply shrugged it off like it was nary a scratch, the formidable opponent he was looking out to be. What came for her next was several pebbles rocketing towards her propelled by the force. It was at this moment that she would conjure up a force barrier, a wall of force energy protecting herself from the flying pebbles. As her opponent came forward with an uppercut, Greta would intercept the blow with yet another diagonal slash followed by a quick riposte. Her main aim for now would be to disarm him of his knife, leaving him with just his saber.

She would use the Shiak on him. A less lethal variant, considering the circumstances. Since this was merely a tournament, and she did not wish to kill or maim, she would aim the stabs towards his arms or legs instead. Greta still had the One Sith interests in mind, and they would not do well to lose a skilled Sith despite what she felt about winning. Greta knew that her opponent would most probably not return in kind, but as Sith as she may be, she still retained her own set of beliefs and morals.

T'zanith grunted as the side of his wrist was slashed and he dropped his knife. 'This woman is more skilled than I thought.' He thought before he jumped back and threw a force push at [member="Greta Kohler"] to increase the distance between them so he could at least think of what to do. His approach was obviously flawed against her, if he was a knight he'd want her for an apprentice to be sure but right now he wanted to deal with her in a way that he'd win but neither of them too wounded to continue in the one sith.
He had kept his abilities in reserves but now he saw he wouldn't be afforded that chance and instead he began to charge up his hands with force lighting again how ever he only began to fire from one hand while he charge another to initiate a sith barrage, sending force lightning erupting up from bellow Greta's legs, though in the power of a force spark as full lightning was still out of his capabilities with the skill. He had to end this quickly before he or she would be forced to do something they'd regret in the future.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

At last, some form of success. Giving off a cry of delight as [member="T'zanith Zebron"] as Greta saw the knife leave his hand, giving a dull clang as it hit the hard rocky floor. But her mini victory was quickly over as the Miraluka sent a force push her way, catching her off guard. She tumbled, almost falling and losing her footing as the the burst of energy shot towards her. The blast had succeeded in putting some distance in between the pair of duellists. The battle was starting to enter a rather precarious stage that could end up in either way.

As she saw her opponent charging up lightning once more, Greta sighed. Force Lightning yet again. It was starting to mess with her appearance, frazzled hair, singed clothes and all. While she was Sith, she treated the rest of her fellow Sith as her fellow comrades and saw them all as future contributors to the ever advancing efforts of the One Sith empire. Gone were the ancient and archaic ways of the Sith who plotted betrayals and deceit of one another, as they tried to take down one another, therefore hurting the organisation's unity as a whole. Together, they were strong.

Sheathing the dauntless combat blade, she ignited her lightsaber using it as a defence from the approaching lightning as Greta leapt away from the sparks that was peculiarly emerging from the ground. Sorcery? The acolyte knew nothing much of Sith Sorcery, but she would ready her blade as she prepared for what came next. She had a feeling that her opponent would perhaps go to great lengths to achieve a victory for himself.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

T'zanith had to admit to himself that [member="Greta Kohler"] was most likely at the same stage as he was in her training and would possibly be advancing to knighthood soon. Once the saber was ignited he turned his own on again, allowing the black cored red saber to drag against the ground as he took a few steps forwards.
Stopping as he saw that Greta was currently not moving he left his stance intentionally open as he raised his off hand and gathered the force in a small bubble above his hand. 'Might as well try the force echoes battlefield potential here' He thought as he gathered the force echo above his hand, though it failed and sent a small force push sphere in every direction shredding a bit of his off hands sleeve leaving it tattered.
"Ok not my intention..." He mumbled to himself as he looked towards Greta, a small part of him hoped she hadn't capitalized on that small failure of his.

[member="Darth Timoris"]

Sabers were ignited as the pair faced each other, their weapons buzzing and humming in their hands. [member="T'zanith Zebron"]'s saber was that of a darker, blackish shade of red, while Greta's was more of an orange red hue. No matter the colours, they were all still Sith. Unlike in the past, saber colours no longer dictated what its wielder was more skilled in. These days it was more of a personal preference than anything else.

He had became as still as she was, as the two opponents tried to judge what the other was going to do next. Her opponent's first action was to gather a palm full of force as he moulded it into a bubble-like shape in his hands. Greta saw her fellow acolyte try to pull off a rather advanced technique, though it didn't seemed to have gone off as planned, as small spheres of force energy were sent flying out in multiple directions, accompanied by a mortified look.

She had easily avoided that small slow moving sphere, and the duel was starting to move into an impasse. Both sides have launched attacks at each other with limited success, and Greta was wondering if the judge watching from above, would have any comments or verdict on what would or should have next. She would prefer not to take this too far, anything bad should always be reserved for the enemies of the One Sith. They had plenty of that to go around.
