Recently, Elani Zambrano had befriended another woman on Bastion. Her name was Katira. Katira owned a coffee shop within Ravelin. Elani came across this woman one day on a walk through the city. What caught Elani's eye was not what the coffee shop offered. It was the sight of a young woman working on her own, yet getting no business. Elani stepped into the shop and spoke with Katira. Elani learned that Katira had inherited the coffee shop from her parents when her mother passed and her father died in a fatal robbery. Katira could not leave her family's coffee shop, despite her going through so many hardships and trials in her life. Business was not booming. Elani could see a bit of herself in Katira. A young woman in a galaxy working hard to keep her down and from growing and achieving greatness.
Elani wanted to help her. And she did.
With the aid of her magic, Elani was able to draw in plenty of customers to her friend's coffee shop giving Katira a new lease on life. To thank Elani for her help, Katira shared a special recipe with Elani. This was a recipe that Katira's grandmother taught her. They were for the Rose Buds cookies that her family had made for centuries. Elani had never taken up baking before but was willing to learn something new. Elani appeared to be a natural on her first few tries at making Rose Buds. Each time was nearly perfect with the next try being better than the last until she managed to perfect the recipe. Soon, Elani began making her own spin on the recipe until she had something unique to her. She presented her unique Rose Buds to Katira who instantly loved them. Katira began to sell Elani's Rose Buds at her coffee shop as a token of her appreciation for all she had did for her and the coffee shop.
