A cloud of dust whirled around her as her feet struck the hard, dry ground. Chiara glanced back at the shuttle that had landed a good distance from the main settlements of Jakku, in the ruthless desert just outside the enclave she'd received coordinates for. It didn't look like much, but that was the point, wasn't it? Vibrant red hair whipped across her face, and shoving a hand into the pocket of her light-tan trousers, she took out a rubber band and promptly gathered up her locks to tie back.
Like Saberene, the desert sun of Jakku bathed everything in its unforgiving light, the heat sinking all the way down to her bones. Already, Chiara could feel the moisture gather on her pale skin, but that wasn't to say she necessarily minded the climate. There were some lessons only the desert could teach, 'a place of all the greatest revelations', her father would say. Although, it was a great deal different than her most current living conditions had been.
After spending months out amongst the stars and throwing herself into the work of a Jedi Healer and peacekeeper with Merrick Sato by her side, Chiara and her partner had returned from their ecclesiastical responsibilities to discover for themselves the truth behind a series of troubling rumors concerning their brothers and sisters of the cloth, that had reached them in the far flung corners of the Galaxy.
One meeting had lead to another, until the clear divide amongst their brethren and the state of the Jedi, lead the pair into looking for new avenues to pursue in their service to the light.
