Robotics, how lovely they are!

Location: Kesh
Time: Noon

James Justice let his Lost Angel make a graceful sweep to the planet's surface. He let out a gentle sigh as the ship touched down on the Inquisition Industries' headquarters. He sighed and let his body walk down the loading ramp onto the platform. His mind quickly brushing over the purpose of this meeting.

Frankly there were some jobs organic workers couldn't do. Be it charging into a death-trap to break up a machinegun nest that had soldiers pinned down, or work endless hours unloading and loading ships without rest or missing a beat. Frankly, he needed droids. And he knew who could do it, Sanya. He had heard her droids were some of the best in the industry and from what he had seen--they were. He was confident with a little money and perhaps a trade agreement, that she would be more than willing to help make a massive army of droids to fill their needs and bulk up the ranks of Justice Shipping.

"Miss Lerium, I've been told to inform you that Mr justice has landed." Katrina said. The Droid it's self ran the hq most of the time. Sure it was an early model from the company but it performance was not obsolete yet. Although the Droid it's self had access to any software updates required due to it was the administration of this sector. Sanya stood up from her desk while putting the terminal in sleep mode. "Thank you Katrina. What is the appointment about." She would ask. With busy schedules it's hard to remember every detail. "I believe it is an appointment about setting up a contract with droids miss Lerium."

She would walk down the several corridors to the landing pads, Maria and Katrina would follow shortly behind. Maria been the latest model with the newist Droid brain, able to contain three different programings of Droid classes in. It was a remarkable development and surpassed many companies droids from just that. Although it wasn't cheap for the research and development. The production was just as costly but it made the point that Inquisition is now small time competitor on the business scale. With the man in sight Sanya would approach him with a walm smile and her hand reached out to shake his. "My apologies for keeping you waiting. My personal office is on the far side so it takes time to walk." She would say looking at the craftsmenship on his ship. "Luckily the other meeting rooms are just in side."

James gave the woman a hearty hand shake with his winsome smile. Every pore of his body oozed the trustworthy scoundrel and businessman of fortune aura--and his Zeltron pheromones did so almost quite literally.

"No problem, Miss," he said before letting a stream of smoke from his lips, "I be hearing a great deal about ye, Sanya," most all formalities were completely lost on this spacer. He had been raised on a freighter, could speak over 12 languages fluently, and knew the finer points of many cultures, but formalities were lost on him. It was difficult to tell if the reasoning behind it was more that he saw it as a form of oppressing those poorer than yourself or if he just saw it as flat out pointless.

Nevertheless, he walked with her to the meeting room, and took a seat, getting very comfortable, if not slightly unprofessional in the chair as he slouched and let out a second haze of smoke.

"I be hearing ye are the best in robotics," he said beginning, "and to be frank with ye, Justice Shipping be needing some. As ye know there are some things only a droid can do."

Reed, the yellow, battered R3-D8 astromech who had followed James in gave an agreeing beep. James shook his head and chuckled before continuing, "I need something that can fill a variety of roles. Guard, accountant, dock hand, pretty much anything we throw at it--and I need a fair amount of them. Possibly one could say, metal legions of them," he paused to let the information sink in and be evaluated, "can ye help me?"

Sanya smiled at the comment after walking into the meeting room. "Well I'd hardly say the best, but I give my own edge on them and make them the best we can here at Inquisition. 'N' yeah droids certainly have there usefulness." sitting down in the chair she would pull out her datapad to take notes of what the man needed jotting down a Droid that could take on multiple roles. "I can help you. So what your looking for is a multi purpose droid that can take on more than one role? If that is the case then each unit would have a Z seven droid brain in. As for the legion amount I will need a more precise number to calculate the cost of all of them." She would say before looking to Katrina. "Katrina could you fetch me the key card for the programming terminal and prepare a Z seven for me." The droid would bow. "Most certainly miss Lerium." Looking back to Mr Justice Sanya would continue from where she left off. "The Z seven brain is the very brain I used in Maria here. Her programing entails first, third and forth degree droid programing. To be more specific protocol droid functions to understand most languages. Security and mathematics of all kinds. With some tweaks to the programing in the third degree I was also able to input saber techniques allowing Maria to handle a saber safely. But with the mathematics from fourth degree she can calculate distance, speed and pressure in milliseconds making her a deadly unit alone. But that wasn't the primary function. She was made also with a twin, both units perpouse in mind to help out around mine and my soon to be wed's company with accounting, contracts and to translate while keeping us both safe." They where a masterpiece in invention to Sanya, one of her biggest feats yet in the Droid sector.

James nodded, taking it all in. If the processor was enough for the owner, then he was sure it was good enough for him. He sat forward, letting out a stream of smoke as he gathered his thoughts.

"I be thinking your Z brain be exactly what we be needing to fit our needs," he said with a cheerful grin, "I knew I be picking the right person for the job," he paused and tapped his fingers together thinking about how many droids they would need. How many would he need? That was a big question. He could think of so many roles that they could use a droid in. Well, he would have to start small then work his way from there, of course.

"For starters I be thinking a two hundred," he said at last, "of course, as the need arises for more and we be needing to replace the ones we have, I am confident ye will be able to give us more, yes? Also, I be thinking that we will need to make them er," he searched for the word, "Modifiable. Some of course will be needing thicker armor later, or stronger weapons. Obviously a unit for accounting will be needing less armor than one made primarily for er--repossession," he winked knowingly. He knew the rumors. Some were true, some were false. Yes, he was a privateer. And yes, he was a smuggler as well. No, he was no pirate, nor was he a mindless killer. He, however he public ally denied them, had no problem letting others believe those things as long as it didn't inhibit him from helping the common man or making the money he needed.

Two hundred seemed feasible. A good few weeks building should have that amount ready. Once the first brain has the programing for the new type of Droid the rest would be easy. "Yes when the time arises for more then we will provide more for your efforts. Also modifications shouldn't be although they will have to be conducted here. This is for the security of my company asset's as I'm sure you would understand." After all the Z7 is a crowned jewel of the robotics industry. If it was to fall into others hands it would stop the edge she had on the market temporarily.

"I presume you have another source of weapons and external armor?" She asked with a slight grin. "If not I'm sure we could sort out something at a later date once your comfortable with these units. Obviously I will stock them all with vibro blades if you so wish it. Also with numbers out the way have you any specific materials wanting to be used or would you rather me use the resources I current have available?" With things rolling smoothly now and moving fast they might Finnish up on rough specs before the brain is ready to begin programming, although that's a matter of minutes.

James nodded, "I be totally understanding ye on keeping company data--well company data," he chuckled at himself before letting out a puff of smoke. "I just be wanting to make sure they will be modifiable in the physical aspect by our mechanics, if ye be feeling me. Nothing too fancy shamncy, just something that we can repair and modify as needed, if ye be feeling me."

He took a moment to think when asked about materials. He generally assumed that they would be made from standards materials, and hadn't really thought of a need for there to be special. Granted as SocMin Fed grew more, he was sure he would be able to use more special materials--perhaps later on in life he would be able to get more advanced special mining rights--possibly staring with beskar?

He shook his head, to the business at hand. "For now, can we be using what ye have on hand? Our weapons dealer," he paused, "Has had a recent bad run with manufacturing. I would be more than glad to use whatever ye be wanting to hook us up with. The works."

Sanya nodded in understanding. "Well I could have the droids manufactured with easy to remove plate's but the head it's self will have to remain the core material's. The only problem with that in total is it would structurally make the droid weaker in spots. mainly along the crease lines of each individual plate. On the alternative I could add in hydraulics to stabilize any materials you could just weld on over the top or simply drill into the main body and bolt them on." There was many ways modifications could be done on the cosmetic and physical attributes. Most with negatives but some that waver the negatives as if it was only a minor set back in the design.

On the note of weapons Sanya did have some T-21and T-21B's at hand due to R&D. Although they are old models they are still effective and powerful. Exelent range but not so good on it's rate of fire. "Since our weapons manufacturing is still relatively new all we have on hand for the time is some t twenty one's and twenty one b's. Would they be suitable for the time being till we work something more to your liking?" She asked. There was a bleep from the datapad with a notification that the terminal in the next room had been set up and with a brain connected to it. "Mr justice would you please follow me and we will sort out the programing now for you?" She said standing up from the seat and moving around the table to the door holding it open for the client and his companion.

James nodded, "I know ye were the right person for this job," he let out a brief cloud of smoke before adding, "I never would have thought of that. We'll just be welding and bolting them on, then."

He thought over the droid offer and what Justice Shipping needed. He could wait, and his business could too, before they added more droids to their military. This was more so for the dockhands and when the ships needed extra crew mates than for security. Granted, with these specifications they could probably run more than a few ships themselves. He smiled at the thought. The possibilities were endless, he liked endless possibilities. However, for the first time being he would relegate one per ship, more for his personal ones of course.

"That be alright," he said at last and rose to his feet. He gave a slightly flirtatious grin as he rose and began to stalk out of the room, "I would follow ye to the end of the earth miss."

He didn't really see any romantic possibilities here, he just had the old habit. And it was a hard one for him to kick, especially since Sasha was gone.

Sanya would slightly shake her head at the flirtatious remarks but for the sakes of business she'd not say anything in return. Walking with the man into the next room where the brain was she'd approach the terminal. "So for the programming all we need to do is load them onto this brain. Once they are in production the programming will upload from this one into all the others. A small short cut I devised." She said with a small smirk. "As for the programming I'm able to give them full mathematics to make them more useful in accounting to able to judge distance, wind speed and drops for the combat situations. Plus a few other things. Then the general labor and security programing is simple. All of these I have my own coding saved so that should only take a moment to upload." As she typed away at the terminal the brains lights would flash blue to then the strips slowly lighting up ad the programming uploaded. "While we are here is there anything you'd like to add before I write up the contract?" She asked.

James listened and nodded, there was just one other thing on his mind. It was slightly related, others would likely have waited but since he was here he had to ask--and the spacer would not have considered himself a good businessman if he didn't ask. The spacer let out a wispy breath of smoke before starting.

"Well, aye there is," he said leaning on the wall. "I wouldn't consider meself a good businessman if I didn't ask, but would you consider cutting a deal for Justice Shipping being your exclusive shipper. We have the most secure shipping lines in the business and the fastest too."

James wasn't bending the truth in that statement, he only purchased the fastest ships for his freighters and each came with their own heavy cannons enough to frighten off any pirate in their right mind. If that didn't work, then the fighter pilot escorts would do it. Among the tramp and junk freighters there was grumbling about the massive business that was steadily gobbling up the market--across the whole galaxy. Of course they grumbled; in the cantinas, in the space ports--right even to the point that they submitted their applications and began working for the smuggler himself.

"I'll give ye a 15% discount on our standard rates," he began, "and that includes any purchases ye desire of our security forces. We deliver anywhere in the galaxy."

Well that was certainly a question. If it was time time she was able to build ships she'd have jumped at the opportunity. Although there are some places she struggles to ship to. Republic space was easy enough as she still spent a lot of time there and knew how to forge the transponder codes. As for anywhere past that it was a struggle especially the silver space. "Well I can throw some work towards you although I may be able to offer something better. What about a partnership? Still independent companies but work together. You will have access to some of the ships I have built for your shipping and if I require a certain material I can send credits your way also. That means you will have access to my personal mining teams. Just no flirting with them." There was a few material she actually wanted to get a hold of. Beskar, songsteel even spider silk. They where difficult to get a hold of and the market was expensive. If she was able to reach the places for them she would do it herself but been a respected leader of power limited her.

James liked the ideas. In fact he more than loved it. She needed material and he needed the ability to grow SocMin Fed. In fact--

"I know just the goody for you to use," he said thinking about Blastos, which was in the final stages of development. At the mention of flirting he gave an innocent chuckle and a shrug. "I don't know what ye are talking about."

He offered his hand, "It's been a pleasure doing business with ye. I look forward to working with ye in the future, is there anything else I can do for ye?"

Sanya nodded. "Just one thing. I need you to sign the contract. " she handed him her data pad with the contract up.

James reached into his coat and pulled out a pen, "Of course, miss."

He leaned over and quickly scrawled his signature over the dotted line. His handwriting was flowly, showy, and quick. For most handwriting was a lost art these days with the advent of so many keyboards and datapads. However, James felt that he had pride in his literal handywork and handwriting.

He stowed the writing tool and retrieved a pair of cigars. Business success deserved celebration. He lit one and offered one to the lady, "One of the galaxy's finest. To our success. And our future. May we have great cash and great success together."
