Description:

The RIV-1 has a very simple design as its only requirement is to allow the soldier inside to safely reach the ground. After this primary function is complete, the drop pod is unlikely to be salvaged or used again as it expected to be located inside a battle zone where it cannot be reached until the battle has been seized. Because of the ceramic plating and durasteel structure, the drop pod can be deployed from either inside or outside the atmosphere. The ceramic plates that cover the outside of the RIV-1 are responsible for shielding the user from the high temperatures that occur during entry into a planet's atmosphere. The durasteel structure protects the user from the the impact when the pod makes contact with the ground, however the repulsorlifts that can be found on the underneath aid in the the deceleration of drop pod. Without these repulsorslifts, the pod would not be able to slow down and would almost be completely destroyed on impact with the ground and likely to kill the soldier aboard. The repulsorlifts also allow the pod to lift itself out of hangars and cargo bays meaning specilised ships are not required in the deployment of this craft. The shape of the RIV-1 is pointed towards the bottom, creating a streamline structure. A streamlined structure is used to limit air resistance and therefore allow a quicker insertion into the planet's atmosphere and a shorter journey to the target area.

The RIV-1 is fitted with an extremely precise targeting system that allows for the user to land within meters of the coordinates set. If it was not for this feature, missing the target would become much more likely and the effectiveness of the pod would be decreased.

Inside the RIV-1 there is room for only 1 person. Much of the space inside the pod is taken up by padding to add comfort for the user. To the sides of the seating, their are two storage containers that can store hardware or weaponry that the soldier may not be able to carry on their person.

How can they be changed? Does it have to be changed before pod is ejected? What are the changes?

The small space inside is taken up by padding to try and obtain comfort for the user. It is also possible for the user to remove this extra padding and replace it with weaponry or armour they are unable to carry on their person.

This conflicts with the 75 kilogram cargo capacity. You can probably just chill with the padding and just increase the cargo space a little and you're good. Also because most ships aren't equipped to drop pods it would be would wise (suggested) that you create a complimentary firing mechanism for the pods.

Actually I just did the edits now:

I redid the part about the padding and the storage.
Made the modularity more specific on details.
Added a launch system of the pods using the already attached specified Repulsorlifts.

Unit that will be using it are Republic, so yes. It is Republic. (I would've linked the unit that will be using this but I prefered to submit this before I submitted the unit.)
