DESCRIPTION
The Rist-class Strike Corvette is intended to provide ground support to Galactic Alliance troops through sensor data collection and transmission, enemy communication tracing and decryption, as well as providing fire support to ground troops and being capable of heavy bombing runs. Made from Alusteel Frame with Bronzium armor, the little ship is tough for its size with Duraplast G-32 Evasive armor plating for its sleek, smooth design and shape. The Rist-class uses the prow blade made famous by the MC140 Scythe, which allows the vessel to direct its weaponry forward into a small space compared to most vessels.

True to its name, the Rist-class is stealthy, able to hide from enemy mass detectors, electromagnetic sensors with a degaussed hull, full-spectrum sensor suites, its thermal output and baffled drives mask its efflux trail. This allows it to hide and deliver its CIC support to troops on the ground.

Using a HSI it is able to listen in on enemy communications and trace them to locate enemy commanders and allows allies to call for air support without having to directly communicate with it, thus it doesn't have to transmit communication transmissions in combat to receive requests for air support and ordnance, making further use of its stealth systems. It makes use of a Hi-Track targeting computer system, designed off the ancient Ranger-class Gunship for anti-starfighter roles which allow it to cut through a large amount of sensor data very quickly so its weaponry can effectively be used against starfighters and fast moving ground targets. This also reduces the effectiveness of sensor jamming as it takes a more powerful jammer to overload its targeting computers capabilities.

The primary weapons on the Rist-class are a octet of Long Range Composite Beam Laser Cannon Turrets mounted on the prow blade. These defensive weapons have been enhanced to fire at much longer ranges with precision and accuracy, and have a more powerful beam concentration over the standard model. The eight of these are intended to be used as Ground Support weapons, providing Tactical Bombardment and to provide minor anti-ship support fire. The key difference between tactical and strategic bombardment is scale. A Strategic bombardment is directed at a city, where as Tactical Bombardment is directed at a building or group of vehicles.

Secondary weapons consist of four turreted Flex-Tube Warhead Launchers with a cycling twenty cell magazine able to be loaded with capital grade warheads similar to proton torpedoes or proton rockets, ion missiles, plasma torpedoes, intruder missiles, or concussion warheads. These are fitted with the standard twenty cell magazine, and though a ship may hold more missiles the magazine would need to be reloaded.

For defensive weapons the Rist-class uses eight CIWS for defending against enemy missiles and interceptors, eight general purpose point defense lasers and two general purpose Ra Defense Missile turrets spread evenly across the hull with overlapping fields of fire.

Strengths:
  • Ground Support: The corvette, unlike many is fitted with Ventral Long Range Composite Beam Lasers and Ordnance Bays designed to support ground operations.
  • Anti-Aerial Support: Fitted with several sets of Defense Weapons and designed as a Picket Corvette capable of filling the role of a Heavy Gunship, it has solid anti-Starfighter Capabilities.
  • Stealth: The Rist-class features a full array of Stealth systems to hide it from enemy sensor boards.
Weaknesses:
  • Capital Weaponry: The Ship has minimal Capital ship weapons, relying solely on a reduced number of warhead launchers to defend it from larger craft.
  • Dorsal Arc: Most of its weaponry is designed for fire forward or downward, thus other than defense gun arcs, its primary weapons cannot fire above it.
  • Non-Visual Cloaking: Its not invisible like a Stygium or Hibridium Cloak. It can be visually tracked.
Special Features:
  • Stealth Package
  • Enhanced Speed
