ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Multiple Landing Ramps: The Riptide has multiple separate landing ramps: one fore, one on each flank, one aft, one underside/central. This allows for rapid unloading and in a multitude of ways, giving the soldiers inside being landed some protection or much better deployment. In addition, getting back on the dropship is much faster than some other dropships.

Strengths:
Rapid landing: The Riptide can get to the surface and unload troops rapidly.
Protected: The strong shielding and reinforced hull along with the decent armament can keep most enemies off the transport’s back, as well as clear a landing area for itself. This is important for moving into hot zones, which the Riptide is designed to do. In addition, the chaff launchers and ECM system makes it harder for most starfighters to target the Riptide.
Filled to the Brim: The Riptide can fit an impressive sixty troopers and up to two light vehicles inside.

Weaknesses:
Dropping Brick: When the Riptide moves and drops into atmosphere, there’s no stopping it -- it can’t exactly change course due to its poor maneuverability.
Exit Strategy: The Riptide has difficulty exiting atmosphere and re-achieving orbit due to its mass and unwieldiness.
Dependent: Without a hyperdrive, the Riptide is forced to rely on carriers -- of which they take up a significant amount of space.

Description:
The role of infantry can often be overlooked in military campaigns in the current day and age -- orbital bombardments, heavy armors, and starfighters tend to steal all the glory. But when a fortress is too hard a nut to crack, the enemy is holed up in a hot zone, or when the battle above is still raging, the Riptide-class Assault Landing Unit is one of the best options to get many troops to the ground.

Enarc, a major trade world, has slowly been militarizing in recent years, stocking up on weapons and materials to begin their own production of ships in shipyards scattered across the planet and system. The CIS took notice of the growing presence of the Enarc Defense Fleet -- and so, Enarc’s leadership began a program to build a new, more mobile fleet to aid the Confederacy’s starfleets. One of the first additions to the new Enarc Mobile Task Force was the Riptide-class as a powerful landing craft for offensive operations.

[member="Adron Malvern"] thank you! I wasn't quite going for a stealthier gunship, but some countermeasures would be good -- I think I'm going to add an ECM system, as well as some chaff. Thanks for the input!
