One of Rilus' mottos is "What will it get me?". He doesn't do much of anything unless it directly benefits him in some form.
APPEARANCE
Rilus keeps his skin hidden behind long sleeves most of the time. Without a shirt, some light scars on his arms are visible, and along his chest, ribs, and back are deeper scars from various encounters throughout his life. His right shoulder is adorned with a tattoo he got on a dare, depicting a Sith Battle Hydra and a shield; which he was inclined to remove but grew fond of and claims that it is lucky. He's tall-average for his age and species, and comes in to weigh on the lighter side of healthy. Due to his lifestyle, he keeps active and fit, and therefore has developed and toned musculature. He maintains a decidedly tasteful roughness to his appearance that is typical to spacers more than corporate executives. His hair is often on the verge of messy, but is well-maintained and clean. He keeps his facial hair trimmed yet somewhat scruffy, and walks the edge between dishevelled and presentable. The most notable aspects of Sieron, however, are his eyes. An unusual pale blue colour that nearly appears green in one light and icy in another, they're mystic orbs that allow glimpses of his spirit.
PERSONALITY
Short, sweet, and to the point are words that Rilus can and does live by. He doesn't like to waste time on politics or Bantha chitting, and will be open and honest in most situations. Sieron is still, however, part pirate in nature and knows how to smooth an edge over or say the
right thing to defuse a situation. Typically he'll behave in the manner that seems most appropriate to him, even if that clashes with what others perceive as the expected norm. On a persona level, Rilus is a fun-loving, easy-going kind of guy; but that requires either aloneness or close friends to relax in such a way.
BIOGRAPHY
CHILDHOOD
Rilus Mercer Sieron was born aboard the private star frigate known as the
Glimmering Gem or, simply the
GG Frig. This ship was the one he grew up on, and it was the one his father owned. With Mercer Sieron, father of Rilus Mercer Sieron, as captain they were one of the best pirate ships in Wild Space. As a small child, Rilus was always interested in the flight controls. His father would hold him in his lap while he played with a starfighter's instrument panel, and one time he activated the engines by accident. When the boy was old enough to hold a blaster, he learnt to shoot. When he was hold enough to reach the control pedals of the fighters, he learnt to fly. When he showed interest in swordplay, he fought crew from time to time but never truly learnt that art. By the time Rilus was 14 he could point and shoot a blaster, fly a starfighter near the ship, and swing a sword around enough to fend off indulgent crew members.
TEENAGE YEARS
Life as the captain's son was hard once Rilus was no longer a child. Once his fifteenth year, his last hurrah of freedom, came and went he was bound to crew life. Only it was worse, because he was expected to carry heavy responsibilities toward the
GG and her crew. He would work alongside them, settle disputes, and get into more disputes because they were so determined to not let him be a pampered prince that they treated him worse than a garbage boy. At one point, he had to fight off several crew members who decided to pick a fight with him. He lost. From that, he set himself to learn to fight hand-to-hand, and in his case hand-to-body. On a particularly long trip, he found a 'martial artist' who taught him some tricks that he worked at and improved on until he made his own way to fight. Per his persona, it was quick, effective, and sometimes dirty. He wouldn't hesitate a low blow if it meant getting the upper hand. He was both admired and despised for his methods, and when things got especially out of hand and he brought a blaster to a knife fight he made his point clear. Don't mess with Rilus.
When he reached eighteen, he was contacted by a family attorney he never knew they had. In a remorseful missive, Rilus learnt that he had an uncle. His father never spoke of him, but as more information was given it all became clear. A businessman and a pirate would never work together, after all. Though apparently, the son of a pirate was fit to inherit a company upon the death of the heir-less uncle. In one life-changing moment, Rilus Mercer Sieron became the chief executive officer of Sieron NovaTech Corporation. He was sent for, retrieved, and taken to law and business schools at company expense. He plunked away through the classes, never truly feeling happy but interested to learn the ropes of running a business without having to drudge it out of the dirt himself.
YOUNG ADULTHOOD
In his nineteenth into twentieth year, he began to blend the lifestyles of his inheritance and his calling. He would always be something of a scoundrel and rogue at heart. It was his upbringing, it was in his blood. He knew how to use a blaster and fly a ship before he knew how to budget a bank account for overage expenditures. Overage expenditures weren't even a thing as a pirate. If you ran out of money, you got more money. So he began his life anew, skirting that boundary between privateering under corporate interests and returning to his roots at a pirate. The duality behind the name Sieron was embodied in the young man. Privateer and businessman. Honest thief and honest trader. He lived by a blended moral code, and so his adventures go on.
