Right of Passage

Wasskah

The moon of Trandosha. Surprisingly, the Trandoshans actually liked the Mandalorians, they shared similar values and provided a large amount of chaos for which an upcoming Trandoshan could earn a large amount of points for the Scorekeeper.

In the upper atmosphere, one of the older lizards had allowed Draco to use their floating fortress in order to stage their hunt. For the most part, the Trandoshans stayed out of the Mandalorians' way and went about their own business and hunts. The Mandalorians were just visiting, and only two of them took up very little room on the base.

Draco wore a set of light weight eukgar'gam for the day, the camouflage pattern shifting around slowly as he stood waiting for the Young Blood to finish changing and ready herself. Draco had weapons, ammunition, survival packs, everything they needed except for her. Lots of running and diving was likely in their future, but, it would be worth the payout of guiding the young Mandalorian Echani towards adulthood.

Everything they needed rested in a small open topped speeder they could take to the ground in order to being searching for their prey. Or, they might get caught in the open sky by the Sky Demon. Depends on how lucky they are.

It was surprisingly pleasant in their room. The air was cool, beds comfortable enough, and the room itself was pleasantly spacious enough to accommodate two people. The two people in the room preparing for the hunt was the small Echani, currently sitting cross-legged on her bed, and the long haired leader of the Vereen clan, Draco.

Ayriss finished pulling on her final item of item of her loaned beskar’gam for the day, her gauntlets, before testing out the retractable blades, grinning widely as the spring loaded blades retracted back into their sheaths. The Echani looked towards the older man, grinning widely. “These are perfect.”

Knowing the rest of the weapons and supplies would be stowed in the speeder, the smaller girl grabbed her helmet and started towards the door. It was about time they started their hunt. The sun had just begun to rise, signaling the beginning of the day. Not only the beginning of the day, but the beginning of a new hunt. And the beginning of Ayriss’s trial.

"Good. There is a rifle and spear in the speeder for us, but this is your right of passage. That means your instincts are being tested. You will make a fine huntress, or, you will make a tasty treat for a Sky Demon." Draco smiled at the young echani and motioned for her to take the reigns on the speeder. He would be around, sure, and he would be able to step in if he needed to, but he wouldn't unless her life was on the line. But she didn't need to know he would be watching her as best as he could.

The speeder was built to be open topped, made to stand in, not to sit at controls comfortably. The back was secured by a simple mesh gate that locked close, but was just small enough that if the ride got too bumpy one could fall out or off it. "Alright. The Trandoshans said Island sixteen was our best bet, so, we will want to drop low to the ground and make our way along the surface of the ocean. Don't want to get caught with enough altitude for them to recover from a dive." Draco grinned, but he had seen an adult Catra'diamtr take out an Ori'edee in a dive, always preceded by a sonic boom striking the ground in the second before they hit their prey. They were quick hunter who preferred to hit from above, but if they stayed close enough to the ground and moved fast enough, they could avoid that long enough to hit the wood line and scatter.

"Remember the three basic steps to hunting. Disorient, Disable, Destroy, and you will be alright." The Mandalorian leaned against the railings and gripped them tightly, nodding to the younger warrior to take the controls and take them out when she was good and ready.
