Private Ride the Wind

With Braze Braze already on New Cov for their training with Shan, Jonyna had taken the chance to teach him a little trick. She'd used it for years, and now she wanted to pass it out. Maybe it was a little cheesy, and not very useful in combat, but it was useful for those who were clever. She always thought Braze was one of those kids.

"Alright, you know how to channel the wind, yeah?"

As they stood in the training ring, Jonyna demonstrated with a small gust, blowing towards Braze.

Braze nodded excitedly, with a confident step forward, he hopped onto what appeared to be nothing but thin air. As he rose into the air, the wind swirling around him, it seemed as though he was standing on an invisible platform, defying gravity with ease. His hair and robes flowed about him.

"Yup! Still can~" he exclaimed with a grin, twirling gracefully as he hovered in mid-air. The wind whispered around him, carrying him gently as he slowly descended back to the ground. With the grace of a dancer, Braze landed softly, as light as a feather, his movements fluid and effortless.

As he touched down, he flashed a triumphant smile, and offered Jonyna a gentleman like bow as if she were his dance partner giving a little flourish of his hand.

A small smirk cracked across Jonyna's face. He really was just like her. A showman to the end.

"Just like that, yes." She chuckled. "Now, lemme show you something fun you can do with it."

Jonyna closed her eyes, the wind slowly stirring around the both of them. Slowly, Braze Braze could hear it. A soft hum, seeming to come from every direction. He could feel it on his skin, the subtle vibration of the air around him, the Force flowing freely through it. Jonyna began to hum, and the wind carried it endlessly. Suddenly, the sound of guitars rang through the air. Braze could feel it, like he was front row at a concert. The feeling of speakers bouncing off his skin. Jonyna flicked her fingers, and it started to get louder, and louder, until it was all Braze could hear.

Initially, Braze looked startled, his gaze darting around as he tried to make sense of the situation. The air seemed to hum with guitar-like sounds, causing him to question whether it was merely a figment of his imagination. But as the vibrations intensified, he realized it was all too real.

His surprise slowly morphed into wonder as he marveled at the phenomenon, recognizing the manipulation of air vibrations for what it was. However, as the cacophony grew louder and more overwhelming, wonder gave way to panic. The noise assaulted his senses, drowning out all other sounds and filling him with a sense of urgency. He moved to cover his ears at this point, but lacking an arm he had to do so in a creative way and he did so by harnessing air.

Just as Braze started to become overwhelmed, it all ended so quickly. Jonyna looked to the boy, giving him a gesture of acknowledgement. "Sorry, got a little carried away there. But you see the potential of it, yeah? Overwhelm an opponent's senses, break their concentration not through strength, but through smarts. Or," She chuckled. "Just use it for intimidation."

Braze initially didn't catch what she said, his focus absorbed in the intensity of their engagement. Recognizing the limitations of his defensive maneuver, he disengaged, acknowledging the inherent flaws in relying solely on such a tactic.

"What?"
he blinked, tuning back into the conversation only as she finished speaking. "Intimidation? Like... emulating a big animal's roar?"

Jonyna let out a very audible snort.

In quick succession you toss Jirik's stun grenade and then the grenade that you had planned to throw in the first place. The noise grenade goes off and the group hears cries of agony from inside. Jonyna doesn't however, because her cat ears are also affected by the noise grenade, muffled as it is by the building. The second grenade goes off moments after, shaking the weakened building and destablising it further.
"Well then that was effective" Giran says, idly sitting in the speeder

"Ow...." Jonyna rubs her ears. Farking Sonic grenades.

"We should maybe back up." Odfrex noted, adjusting the speeder and throwing it in reverse

"What?" Jonyna asks, still rubbing her ears.

"Good Idea.." Giran says, nodding in confirmation.

"Yes, please." HEPBURN, a strange type of protocal droid, chirped, happy to get out of there.

"WHAT?!"

Odfrex hand signals for Jonyna to back away, leading her away.

"HE SAID WE SHOULD BACK UP!!" Giran shouts, grabbing her shoulder.

"Yes, like an animal's roar. Or music, or..."

Suddenly, Braze could hear Jonyna behind her.

"Your voice. You can use it to throw off your opponent, break their concentration, or just overwhelm them. Hard to fight when you can't hear yourself think."

Braze turned on his heel suddenly, only to find nothing there. "I already can't hear myself think most days..." he frowned, the frustration evident in his voice. "But I get the concept... Is it... vibrations?" he asked, attempting to wrap his head around the idea.

"This is a more direct way of doing something, I think," he mused, his thoughts trailing off as he contemplated the matter further. "It's really cool though~," he added with a hint of admiration.

"Something like that. The way I learned it, it's like..." She sat down, holding her hands out and cupping the air. "It's manifesting your energy through the air. The better you get at it, the more fine control you get. Once you get that level of control, yeah, you can make it vibrate. And once you figure out how to do that..." She made a gesture. "Try it."

Braze, was mystified by her actions, eagerly took a seat before her and extended his hands. Closing his eyes, he focused intently. After a few tense moments, a sharp CLANG pierced the air like a tuning fork, resonating deeply in the air. It faded out slowly.

Jonyna smiled, her ears twitching. She too made a light vacuum around them to dull the sound. "There ya go. Now you just need to practice. Gain control." She hummed again, the guitars coming back. She kept it soft, the low hum of acoustic filling the air. "It's not about brute forcing it. The song the wind will sing will be the one you ask it to. The Force, it's not about telling it what to do, it's about asking it nicely. Sing the song with it, and the wind will be your friend."

Jonyna went silent as she just let the boy experiment. This was good, allowing the boy to just let free. There wasn't much feedback she could give in this moment, but she offered a warm smile. "That's it. Now you just have to practice. Try mimicking your voice next."

A frown creased his brow as he mumbled, "My voice? I don't know..." He cleared his throat, attempting to project a powerful 'voice,' but the sound that emerged was far from it. It droned on, slow and drawn-out, more akin to a bizarre, monotonous chant than a spoken word. The source emanated from somewhere nearby, flanking them. With a grimace, he conceded, "Yeah...definitely need some practice on that."
