DESCRIPTION

While it is best known for its use as a fuel source, Rhydonium is also known to be highly explosive, requiring immense caution for anyone attempting to handle the violate substance. That being said, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has decided to harness the potential of this substance by converting into a number of different ordinance systems, such as with the creation of the Rhydonium Mine.

Unlike most weapon systems, mines are "passive" weapons, waiting for their victims to find them. As mines are typically buried in the ground, they can be hard to detect until it is too late. Anyone unfortunate enough to step on a mine is liable to be blown to pieces or have their limbs removed, creating gruesome injuries in the process.

Rhydonium Mines are especially insidious, as the noxious cloud of fumes they create after detonation can make potential rescue of a fallen ally quite difficult. Rhydonium Mines are designed to cause maximum damage, killing or wounding anyone who steps on them and then hitting any would be rescuers with toxic Rhydonium gas.

Of course, this can easily go both ways, as Rhydonium mines do not discriminate against would they harm. It is also important to note that while Rhydonium Mines are relatively effective against many types of vehicles, they are essentially useless against repulsorlifts as those do not trigger the mine's proximity fuse system.
