  • Structure Name: Reveries Epica
  • Classification: Bar/Recall lounge
  • Location: Epica, Old Brewery Quarter
  • Affiliation:
  • Accessibility:
    • The main entrance to the bar is wide open and well advertised with a well maintained garden area at the front. The main entrance indoors is through large wooden doors of the old brewery
    • Like most bars, door staff control access to ensure safe and legal running of the licensed premises.
    • Recall booths and private lounges only accessible by staff permission to patrons who have hired them.
  • Description:
    • The front of the bar is designed to be in keeping with the Epican architecture style, but once through the front door a large neon sign with familiar Reveries branding is visible.
    • The main area is split between the old storage rooms and a large external courtyard which was once a place for delivery access but now has a beautiful open air bar, taking advantage of the warm Epican climate. The flow between inside and out is through original stone archways which can be shuttered off during rare bad weather. The courtyard ends at an iron rail fence leading to a disused stone staircase down to the river. This area is kept secure but gives wonderful views across the river.
    • The bar/club area has a large bar inside and a smaller bar in the courtyard. There are stages for live performance both inside and outside which also double as dance floors.
    • A short corridor across the front of the courtyard leads to a separate building containing the the recall booths, these can only be used if hired out and staff monitor these rooms carefully. This area also had a small bar with views back out onto the opposite side of the courtyard to the main bar for use by patrons that have hired the booths.
    • In each of the recall booths are a pair of what look like dentist chairs, but with wires and dials attached to them betraying their digital purpose. They are hooked up to a booth where the technician can sit to run the show. This booth has blinds which are typically kept shut to allow the users to enjoy some privacy. CCTV allows monitoring of the rooms for safety reasons without the intrusion of a staff member spoiling the experience. Most of the rooms have one or two chairs in, but an upper floor with a balcony that looks down to the bar the top most floor has four larger rooms. These each have four chairs for either group events or rented out individually cheaper to guests who don't mind sharing. The two end rooms have a locked and sound proofed doorway between them to accommodate a shared group of up to eight upon request.
    • The main building has two private rooms on an upper floor. With seating for seating for 30 and 40 individuals. These are often hired out for private functions and can also be accessed by an elevator that lead ls down into a well maintained side corridor toward the front of the bar, for people who do not wish to walk through the whole bar. The largest of the three rooms has a balcony that overlooks the river at the back of the premises.
    • Like most breweries, Revieries Epica has an extensive secure cellar. This has been the biggest change of use and required extensive rebuilding. This section is entirely off limits to the public. The old keg hatch has been replaced by a small secure external elevator which is built to be shielded from public view. There is also access via a roped off well renovated staircase within the bar. The simple leather rope is for appearances only, once you pass the rope and turn a corner is an advanced secure door protecting the secret underbelly.
    • One small part of the old brewery was in a state that could be repaired and returned to use. It is now used to create limited batches of exclusive whiskeys and tasting sessions are a popular activity with tourists to the city.

  • Main bar area - Open and unassuming the main bar is like many other bars providing a wide range of drinks including some top shelf liquors and a varied cocktail menu. A large main stage dominates one wall and live shows are held nearly every night.
  • Rooftop bar area- On top of the old brewery is a small and fairly intimate rooftop terrace that is accessible by a wrought iron spiral staircase. Dinner can be had up her, a dumbwaiter from the bar leads to the roof to aid service. There is only a small number of tables to keep the atmosphere as pleasant as possible and it has stunning views over the city and of the Ashlan cathedral.

  • Downstairs - a series of restrooms are in the basement area underneath the main bar. The first door however leads to a staff only area including stock rooms, staff rest facilities, offices and other assorted facilities required to run a typical bar.

  • Recall Booths - This is what makes the original Reveries on Denon special and it has been carried over to Epica. Regardless of the number of chairs in the specific room, the set up is the same. The whole process is run by an operator in a booth to one corner. The operator, for safety reasons must monitor the users on secure CCTV but their physical presence is kept discrete. This is particularly useful for the more intimate, or adult, memories. All of the rooms are soundproofed to further protect the privacy of users.

The vital signs of the users is also closely monitored via Lifescan Pro. Due to the highly realistic and sometimes visceral experiences on offer, there is risk of harm to users who are not used to such experiences and associated adrenaline spikes.

The chairs themselves are hardwired with the Cyberdive-64 systems.
    Untitled178-20220713121940.png
The files played are genuine memories purchased from volunteers or even created by employees by recording their experiences. These memories are played right into the minds of the user and as such the experience is thoroughly real and affects the body as if the person was living them. With the exception of physical changes such as injury.

The memories are banded into levels that broadly indicate their intensity levels. It is expected that new customers try lower levels before moving on, to ensure that their bodies can handle the physiological stresses. This can be bypassed at the discretion of management, for example if a user can show evidence of previous experience. Or sometimes particularly wealthy clients may flex their wallet to obtain discretion.
    • Level 1:
      • Pleasant memories with loved ones
      • Trips to beautiful places around the galaxy
      • Notable historic events
      • Enjoyable personal experiences
    • Level 2
      • Sky diving
      • Pod racing
      • Extreme sports
      • Combat and military memories
      • Criminal undertakings
    • Level 3
      • Near death experiences
      • Real lightsaber combat memories
      • Other memories associated with extreme physiological stimulation.
    • Level X
      • Moment of death memories
      • Graphic violence

The final category is restricted to experienced and well known customers. Not only does this ensure safety of the users, but it also allows vetting and background checks to be carried our before access is granted to material that may trigger criminal suspicions.

  • Private Suites - The two private suites, advertised for their modern styling and high levels of privacy are popular both for your average party group, but also as a place for business meetings where people can discuss sensitive information, but still enjoy the excellent service of Reveries. The rooms have several luxury booths along with several tables in the centre. It is designed to seat a maximum of 40 people comfortably, but the premises is licensed for upto 75 people per room for gatherings.

Due to smart designing through use of lighting and decor, the room never feels empty, even if only a few of the tables are filled, this gives them a warm and cozy atmosphere for small groups, or a vibrant party atmosphere for larger ones.

Both of the rooms have small private restroom facilities and small bar that can be configured to either self service, or staffed by the Reveries team.

There has been a major refit and redesign since Mairéad took ownership of the old brewery, the private rooms have been upgraded to the same security standard installed in the Denon location and have had similar private "wet rooms" for showering and to otherwise let the users freshen up. However due to the shape of the building the private refreshers are a little on the small side

  • Subterranean private area This section contains secure offices, meeting spaces and storage rooms including a small armoury for use by the Family. It was designed with close consultation with Ivory Stroud and her security advisors. This section is intended for use as a mafia headquarters and is well protected against all forms of attack. The last secret this place has is a hatch that leads directly into an underground stream. Once used to collect purified water, with breathing gear it can now be used as an escape route.

It has been completely renovated from the old cellar and now has very elegant stylings as befits its desired guests.

High - Compared to most bars and other civilian premises Reveries has a high level of privacy and security, but it is however opened to walk in patrons to the main bar.
  • Paid security guards patrol the premises, including door staff on other the main entrance and the corridor ending to to the more private areas of the recall booths and private suites.
  • High quality digital infrastructure and hardware protect both the bar, and it patrons. Damage to the stored data or a hack during a recall session could prove dangerous to the users so every precaution is taken by the owners to ensure safety.
Additionally, all users of the recall booths must submit their details, this is both for user safety, but also for screening of users requesting access to more illicit materials.

  • The basement area security is considered very high. The only thing differentiating it from the likes of a bank vault are lack of durasteel armoured walls, automated defences and laser grid defences

This is the third establishment to bear the name Reveries under Mairéad. The premises is an old disused brewery that had fallen into disrepair. It was purchased under Mairéad's name by her close friend and business partner Marcella Fiora as a business investment in her friend.

After several months of heavy renovation work including installing a secure underground headquarters, Reveries Epica was opened to the public with a bit event including live music that sold out within hours. By square footage it is the largest Reveries venue but its more open plan nature give it a Capacity somewhere between Coruscant and Denon.

The little jewel of the venue is the small renovated whiskey distillery which has become quite the tourist trap. Talented creators trained by Fiora now craftimited batches of distinctive whiskeys for sale by the bottle of for enjoyment in one of the bookable tasting evenings.

Unfortunately it looks like all of your images are no longer available! And the links to said images lead to some weird places (I got some request for beta for coding, I think? Almost made me think I blue screened.)

On the bright side everything else is good to go! Let me know what you want to do about the images and once that's resolved, I'll be able to approve it.
