Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold

Tal'Verda Residence

One of the young woman's most favorite things was her garden. It consisted of not only flowers but fruits and vegetables as well. She loved watching everything grow and blossom with her help of course. She could often be found outside tending to garden and keeping the weeds out. Even now that she was quickly growing she still found a way to check on her garden. It was a hobby of hers that she hoped to share with her babies once they were born. They would be warriors as well like their father but she wished that they could have a softer side as well. The first word they learn shouldn't be war like she knew to be her brother-in-laws. She wanted to give them the childhood that she never was able to have.

When she first found out that she was not only with child but was having twins Keziah had been scared and worried. She wanted children but this had been far too soon for her and she knew Calico felt the same. The two were not ready for children yet and didn't want to bring them up in such a turbulent galaxy. She had wanted to wait until things were more settled but as fate would have it she didn't get that choice. They were having babies now and better prepare for it and so she did.

Sitting sideways in her garden Keziah hummed to herself as she began to pick out the vegetables that were rip and placing them in the basket that she had brought out to the garden with her. She planned to use whatever she grabbed out here for dinner tonight. Keziah wasn't sure what she was going to make for them however she wasn't worried. She would think of something to surprise him with before he got home.

Things as of late had been quite which was something the young woman was very grateful for. She was sick of having to run all the time. After what happened during the last battle they needed a little bit of down time to just relax and process everything. The young woman doubted that this would last long so she savored the time they did have to just be themselves.

[member="Galaar Tal'Verda"] is dead.

The words rung out in Salem Norongachi's mind, over and over like a record with its needle stuck. The list of the dead from Druckenwell was long, page after page, name after name but when he saw that name, it was like a blow to the gut. At first there was an emptiness, a void that seemed to grow inside him, it sucked every emotion into it and he felt his being grow cold. Death was a part of life, a constant that never let you down. As reliable as the sun rising. What was Galaar to him? What was he really? A friend? A comrade? Another broken soul lost among the stars, striving for something bigger than himself but always finding it just out of reach?

These thoughts seemed foreign as he made a series of calls to determine the cause, like he were standing outside his own body and watching impassively as his physical shell went through the motions. The after-action reports confirmed Galaar had lead the Dreadguard still loyal to the CIS in the defense of the Shipyards, further reports from the soldiers stationed there confirmed there had been a fight between the clone and another....

The void suddenly filled, a concentrated nucleus of hate blossomed in the darkness and reverberated through the Force, bursting from his body in violent telekinetics as green eyes lit with rage. The desk was the first thing to go, shattering against the wall, its wood splintering and cracking. The large bay window behind him vibrated for a second and then shattered outwards, the shards of glass having little time to fall as they were hit again and again becoming little more than dust along with the white wood frame.

Nails bit deep into the flesh of his palms, his whole body shaking as he tried to swallow back the rage that threatened to tear from his lips, to keep the beast chained lest it bring the entire sanctum down around him. He swore to protect him, swore that he'd watch his back come what may. They were supposed to change things from within, to bridge the gulf that Verd had caused. He'd given his word and he had failed.

Keziah tried to not focus on what happened at the battle of Druckenwell. It would do her nor anybody any good. The best thing to do was to move forward the best that she could. They all had to but they would never forget the fallen soldiers. It had been her first taste of war and she hadn't been a fan in the slightest. She had seen things that she never had wanted to and done things she wasn't proud of. The next time this occurred she would be staying home or helping the wounded. War wasn't for her but she supported her husband. Keziah needed to not only be brave for him but for their growing family. They needed her to be and she wouldn't let them down. Family meant everything to her, it was her everything.

Before coming here they had been hunted down by everything imaginable. The clan never got any peace and quite no matter where they went the enemy was always right there either waiting for them or two steps behind her. Keziah thought that now they could breath and were safe for the moment. The thought that someone was out for the blood of her beloved never crossed her mind as she continued to pick the vegetables from her garden.

Once her basket was full she headed back into the apartment. She was in no rush as she didn't expect company for quite awhile and as such she took her time washing everything before beginning to cut up her produce.
