Retrospective Risk Adjustment

He turned the sculpture around, feeling its heft in his hand. Its base was smaller than his palm and it wasn't that much longer or taller. Almost a cube, but not quite. Its navy-blue surface was etched with a host of runes, and its edges were carved to resemble some kind of monolith. Where the surface had been scratched or cut, the darkness gave way to a cerulean hue. He tested its weight, amazed at how light the sculpture was. Yet, despite its mass, it was solid, firm, sound. He knew that if he were to cut it open, it would be a single, solid piece of material.

"How much?" he asked as he shifted the blue sculpture to his other hand.

The twi'lek bowed her head. "Two hundred credits for you."

Two hundred credits was quite a bit for a souvenir. He thought about that. A moment later, he dug out the necessary cash and handed it to the vendor. "There's a little extra. Keep the change."

As he walked away from the stall, Asemir Lor'kora note the twi'lek's smile. She was probably assuming she had just ripped off a tourist. Asemir knew better. The sculpture in his hand was really a chunk of kyran steel. He wasn't sure how a merchant on this random planet happened to get a hold of such a rare alloy, but it was valuable. Worth far more than two hundred credits. Certainly more than his modified personal ship.

The ingr'nysk stuffed the hunk of blue metal safely in his pack as he continued to browse the market. It was a good day to be away from his trade, to enjoy some down time. Free time was a rare luxury, but only because he made it so. Asemir found it awfully difficult to be still and be without work. Without a mission. A purpose.

But it was important to relax, as his apprentice so often reminded him. And so he was here, browsing these stalls and looking at trinkets. And occasionally nabbing a steal, like the kyran statue.
