Resurgence of House Kuat

Planet: Kuat
Location: House Kuat Orbital Array

After the short civil unrest on the planet, the eldest and heir of the previous Kuat of Kuat rose above the rest in his family to finally unite under his banner. Those that did not join his cause were quickly put in their place and given little power to replace him. The final stroke in his master plan had finally been put into place and had [member="Ferron Troste"] joined his family by having the CEO marring his youngest sister. It also helped that his mother and father had mysteriously vanished and as they had the most to gain by bring the heirs of the title of head of the house. With his aunts current aware-about currently unknown and [member="Kanna Kuat"] could not defend her title and the many factions of false heirs attempted to gain the title. He did not let that pass him by as his family members attempted to take his rightful place among the stars as the leader of Kuat as well as a main influence of Kuat Drive Yards.

Now he was at the House Kuat Orbital Array on the Kuat Shipyard station in the residential section. He had worked hard along with his brother [member="Brandon Kuat"] to gain this title. The two of them had finally taken the time to enjoy the title they received, Brandon was placed as the Representative of the Kuat family. He was in charge of reorganizing the planet after the attack of the Sith Order and pick up where Mr. Troste had left off.

He stood near the window that overlooked the planet. Sipping on a glass of Kuati Wine he waited for his brother to get here to discuss where to take the planet from their current increase of prestige.

Brandon headed towards his brother, [member="Javrin Kuat"] 's office, for some reason he wanted to talk to him, but that was better than Javrin completely ignoring him and shuffling him of to some sort of unimportant station where he'd never see the light of day again, so that was nice. Brandon clenched a cigarette between his teeth and lit it, he wasn't supposed to be smoking here but really who would stop him? He was the brother of the most powerful person on Kuat so he was going to enjoy this even if he did get shoved out of right after he finished.

He ran a hand through his messy blond hair and opened the door, dropping and stomping out the cigarette spotting his brother he spoke up. "So judging by the vintage of that wine there everything went just as planned." Brandon said with a bit of a sarcastic tone to the last three words. He parked his rear on his brothers desk and grabbed the bottle of wine and pretended to examine it farther than the little bit he picked up from a distance and took a swig of it.

"So what's the next step of your master plan since you've just became the most powerful man on Kuat and probably top ten of the galaxy?"

Jarvis could only laugh inside and with his back to his brother as [member="Brandon Kuat"] entered the room. One would be expected to be pushed to a limit by this characteristics. However, when you grow up with a genius as a brother who had a singular mindset all your life you look at the bright sides. Much like how he enters the room as if he owned the place. Even with his older brother becoming the Kuat of Kuat, he still acts the same as before that many would consider disrespectful. It had its place in his company, Brandon was a smart individual and being honest was better then having someone that could lead him astray with lies.

He turned to see his brother taking a strong sip out of his bottle of wine. To be honest, he did not know if Brandon ever really drank, only that he caught him being drunk on a few occasions after spending too long in the workshop. Would be interesting to see where that went, but today was not the right day for that experiment. Instead he places his glass on the table and looked at the brother. "You mean 'Our' Plan, the money we made from your little toys paid very well to both sway Ferran to marry our sister, and to pay of the other houses to join my claim."

Bringing out a tray of chocolates and offering it to his brother, he smiles a sinister wave across his face. "As for 'Our' next move dear brother, I have asked you here to take on the difficult task of being my Chief Engineer, both building ships for Kuat Drive Yards and rebuilding the instructor of our homeworld."

Setting the tray next to his brother, it was an obvious trap to his propose.

Brandon took a second drink from the wine bottle before setting it down, it wasn't that he rarely drank, he drank quite often, it was that he was vary rarely drunk, in the last year Brandon could count the number of times he was properly drunk in the last year on both hands, and maybe a toe or two, smoking was his real vice, Brandon was vary rarely seen without some sort of smokable hanging out of his lips, cheep, expensive, it didn't matter to him, the fact that Brandon wasn't smoking in Javrin's office was actually taking a considerable amount of restraint.

He listened to his brother speak, calling it their plan rather than his own, Brandon might have played a decent part in it, but he wasn't the driving force behind it, he didn't actually want to be the Kuat of Kuat, too many meetings, sure Brandon enjoyed the cut throat politics of the boardroom, but more often than not it was boring poodoo about budgets, sales goals, stock prices, so he was glad when his brother offered him the job of Chief Engineer, it was something he was both good at and would enjoy. Brandon was about to speak up when he saw his brother put a tray of chocolates on the table, it was a Dejarik game with two moves, and Javrin had just made his. Brandon's was now, to read his brother and decide to eat or not, his instinct said that this was to test his trust, poison in the chocolate it would be an easy way to get rid of him while out of sight, but Brandon figured that if he did eat it showed that he trusted Javrin and thus Javrin could trust him, and if he didn't it showed that he didn't trust his brother and thus shouldn't be trusted and needed be watched or be disposed of. So Brandon took not only one, but a few figuring that he was still too useful to his brother that even if he was going to stab him in the back that it would take more effort then this.

"You call it our plan, but you were the one to figure it all out, not that I won't take credit for the parts I did, but it was mostly your plan. So, Chief Engineer eh? I can do it "

[member="Javrin Kuat"]
