Rest for the Wicked

Not every mission was diving into enemy fleets and assaulting extremely well defended position. This time his orders had taken him and a fellow Rogue to Naboo. Aeadan had volunteered, and command had been gracious enough to comply. The fleet had become his home, but Naboo was a close second. It was also where his sister lived, and with the war raging on the chances they had to see each other were far and in between.

The mission itself hadn't been too hard. They had been prepared for conflict but none had found their way, as they escorted some VIP's consular ship to Naboo. He understood that the first leg of its journey had been more turbulent, but fortunately for them, it had been smooth sailing ever since they met up with the ship. With the VIP having arrived at her destination the Rogues' X-Wings were grounded. They would hardly be useful in her meetings, and as such they were blessed with some downtime.

The Beard or Beardface as some had started calling him (he was pretty sure Owen was to blame) set out to meet up with one Alleycat. They had talked about spending their day off out in the sun, near the beautiful waterfalls and beaches of Naboo's Lake Country. The weather was perfect for it too. But he had a little surprise gift from that his sister and he had been working on, and decided to show up early. He knew where to find her this time of day. Alex would probably be in the hangar, tinkering on her snubfighter.

Aedan walked into the large and mostly for the moment abandoned hangar. He was wearing black pants and a grey v-neck t-shirt, both being the perfect cut for his size. A pair of stylish aviator sunglasses adorned his hairy face, but another pair was attached to the neck of his shirt. Over his shoulder and down on his right side was a bag, packed with whatever he needed for their little outing. In his left hand he carried a pack of six cold ones. They had had a little fun competition on their SIM scores. Aedan wasn't used to being showed up, but he was in Rogue Squadron now, flying with the best of the best - and Russo was giving him a run for his money. Though he wasn't a sore loser. A bet was a bet. Though of course, next time he would push ahead, and she would be the one buying drinks.

Hope is the elixir of life. (semi-retired)
At the daily flight briefing when volunteers were asked for a diplomatic escort mission, Alexandra Russo offered herself up right away as she wasn't above doing a milk run from time to time. It was a good way to earn extra points towards a 48 hour pass, plus the fellow Rogue she'd be sharing this duty with was none other than [member="Aedan Lochlan"]. They already had a nice camaraderie going on so spending time with the tall, dark, and ruggedly handsome Lorrdian wouldn't be a hardship at all. In fact, Russo was looking forward to it. "Tails" and "Whiskers" as Alex referred to them would have a great time on Naboo, well at least the Taanabian was planning on it. I mean, downtime in Lake Country, with him…. a no brainer, duh?!

Lochlan knew of course where his brandy-eyed brunette companion would be hanging out. It was where Alleycat always was when not training in the sims, getting a cup of strong caf with four creams from the mess, working out in the gym, or sleeping in her rack, but the latter was seldom as she suffered from insomnia, or more rather didn't let herself reach deep REM sleep because of the reoccurring nightmares that plagued her often; survivor's guilt a powerful antagonist. And being single now, Alex didn't have other things to distract and ease her off to sleepy land. Another reason to run a lot and tinker with her snubfighter.

Alexandra was atop the port side strike foil of her T-70 wearing a pair of well-used coveralls and her dark hair pulled back into a messy pony when Aedan walked into the nearly deserted hangar. She raised her head out of the engine hub as he swaggered on up and flashed him a welcoming smile as her brandy brown gaze gave the good-looking guy the once over. Gods he fit in those jeans and t-shirt well. The mechanically-inclined pilot pretended to wipe grease off the rather clean hydrospanner in her hand to cover the hard swallow that came from the ogling.

"Well hey there, Two… Aren't you looking sharp in those new shades, very nice, and even better carrying that six pack you owe me. You're such a sweetie to bring it," Alex quipped with a playful grin, then added more seriously as she didn't like to cut corners when working on her baby.

"I'll be done here in two shakes, then we can blow this pop stand, hmm? I can't tell ya how much I've been looking forward to… this downtime. It should be a fun."

A couple more good turns on a stubborn engine bolt, then the access panel was secured and the long-legged brunette made her way over to the edge of the closed wing. She let herself down with well-practiced ease with only a soft thud noted when her work boots touched the hangar decking. Russo knew that their jovial competitiveness would make whatever they did enjoyable. There had been undercurrents of something building between the two pilots for a while now. What it truly was, was yet to be determined.

After putting her personal toolbox away in the small storage compartment in the nose of the X-wing, Alexandra pulled off the hard leather boots she was wearing, then unzipped the coveralls and took them off showing the civie outfit she was wearing underneath; something chic yet comfortable with a touch of sexy going on. A tug on a hair tie freed her long sun-kissed brown tresses from being confined back, then Alex ran her long, slender fingers briefly through the chocolate locks. This whole time was spent not saying a word to the bearded man standing there just letting him watch her go about her business, then the work clothes were placed in the small storage compartment too, and a pair of sandals slipped on thereafter showing off painted red toenails. Why not, downtime remember?!

"Well… Do I pass muster for a casual day out on Naboo with you?" she asked with a sweet smile gracing her cherry flavor-balmed lips, taking a slow twirl before finally bending over to grab her packed bag that was resting near the port-side landing strut.

"Thank you, Eleven" he returned with a grin. Her playful tone didn't escape his notice. "I'm a man of my word. Next time you'll be bringing me the six-pack" he said with confidence. Their little rivalry was good for morale, gave them something to bond over while at the same time being a motivator to push themselves to do better each time. High scores were made to be shattered. Being pilots, both probably enjoyed being on top.

"Oh yeah, it'll be fun for sure" he said, watching her finish up her work. At last her boots touched the ground and they were ready to move on to the next phase of their plan. What he had not planned for was seeing her slip out of those coveralls. She was fully dressed underneath, but there was something about seeing her lose them while letting loose her hair that had him take an extra deep breath. Aedan was almost more used to seeing his fellow Rogues in their flightsuits than anything else.

"Uh.. yes" there was a slight delay to his response as he took in the sight of her twirl and subsequently bending over to pick up the bag. System reboot. "Definitely" a light smirk was added, and his composure regained. She hadn't noticed, right? Probably not. The sunglasses might've masked where his eyes went. Although women seemed to have a way of picking up on the slightest of details. Thankfully she wasn't Lorrdian.

"Oh, I almost forgot" he said, the smirk widening into a grin. "Speaking of those new shades... Baby, get the lights" Aedan's blue and white BB-unit, nicknamed 'Baby', rolled out from where Aedan had first came. Poking at a control panel the lights in the hangar all went out, drowning it in complete darkness. Technically he wasn't supposed to do that, but he doubted Russo would tell on him.

"This is what I imagine the inside of your head to look like" the dry voice of 'Baby' could be heard from the other side of the hangar, in its signature Imperial accent - a strange touch Aedan thought, but too much about this droid was strange to start pointing out everything. Aedan simply rolled his eyes though it was unlikely anyone witnessed it.

Aedan couldn't see a thing. Russo probably couldn't either, but it was a little extra obvious in his case because he was wearing sunglasses in the dark. That all changed when his finger lifted to lightly graze against the right side of the sunglasses' frame. The nightvision was turned on, and he could see everything perfectly clear, from the X-Wing to the lovely brunette in front of it. With no shame he used the moment to appreciate her top a little more freely.

"These are special sunglasses made for Rogue Squadron. Me and my sister had them made. Or, well. Mostly my sister. But y'know. I helped." he explained. Then he grabbed the pair that had been hanging by the neck of his shirt, turned on the nightvision, and handed them to [member="Alexandra Russo"]. "Pretty sweet, right?" he'd pause to let her experience the nightvision firsthand before he continued talking about them. "They come with nightvision, infrared, a little camera and even MFTAS" he was pretty happy with the way they had turned out.

hehe Her work was done here. [member="Aedan Lochlan"]'s response to the Taanab beauty's outfit was just how Alex wanted it to be. Adding a little fuel to the fire never hurt, right?

"I'm glad you approve," she smiled back appreciatively. "You definitely pass muster as well." A little wink followed, then the brunette's brandy-brown gaze went to where the sound of Two's BB-unit was on the other side of the hangar.

A giddy smirk came to her cherry flavor-balmed lips as the little droid made a quip about what was on the inside of the flyboy's head. Alex quickly covered her near outward giggle with her hand casually as she looked back towards Aedan. Oh my, Baby was as bad as Rusty with the dry humor and wise cracks. They would get along just fine too.

Suddenly the lights in the hangar went off by command and it was pitch black. It wasn't as much as the pilot was scared of the dark, but rather not knowing what was going to happen next. It reminded her of the time she was in a coma post-EVA and trying to wake up from it. Alleycat could hear and smell things around her, but couldn't get her eyes to open up or her mouth or body to work either. Here at least it was only her sight that was bothered. Her nose was working well as she picked up on the subtle male-scented body wash of her fellow Rogue; just the right amount of clean and spicy… or was that smexy?

"Oh?" Alex answered simply, then felt Aedan's hand find hers. He placed the extra pair of shades into them. The sensation of his warm touch on the flesh in the dark and the sound of the bearded one's smooth baritone voice sent chills down her spine. She unconsciously licked her full lips thinking where else the tall, dark and handsome man's hands could roam in the dark. Boy did she need one of those cold brews to douse the flames of the fire beginning to burn within her. Hopefully soon as Alex was getting rather thirsty for something.

Slipping the specially made aviators on, the hangar once again came into view and the bearded Rogue standing before her, though through night vision of course. Damn he was good looking in any light. "How do they look?" Aedan was sure proud of his creation, and he should be. The shades were astral, kinda like him.

"Sweet doesn't begin to cover how awesome they are. I love em! Nice job," Alex beamed all impressed like. "So you have a sister in the business of making stuff like this? What other surprises are you holding back on, hmm?" she asked with a playfully raised sienna brow, though he might not of picked up on that only the mirth in her voice. She liked to tease and banter.

Aedan grinned wide at her reaction to the sunglasses. She liked them! Grand. He was sure the rest of the squad would too. "Yeah. All three Lochlan siblings run a company called Lochlan Apparel, but it's mostly her that's in charge." he admitted. Aedan caught her playful tone. "Wouldn't you like to know" he flashed her a smirk back.

Aedan switched the nightvision off. Having it on when the lights came back on would be painful, he imagined. Wanting to spare Russo from that, he lifted his hand to her face, specifically her new sunglasses. "There's a button on the side" he said in a low tone, gently pressing it and switching her night vision off as well. Again, the hangar was bathed in darkness they could not see through.

"Turn the lights back on, Baby" again the BB-unit did its work, this time without sarcastic remark. The hangar lit up again.

"You ready to go?" he asked. Whether she preferred having a few beers in the hangar before they headed out or save them for later, he did not know, but she had the option. "I'm guessing we're taking the X-Wings?" though he wasn't entirely sure if they were strictly speaking allowed to. Though considering they were Rogue Squadron, their commanders were probably expecting shenanigans. They got away with it because they were the best. Besides, Aedan was far from the worst when it came to bending the rules.

"May-be," Alex quipped back, then stuck her tongue out quickly at him in a teasing manner. Oh this is going to be so much fun!

Aeden didn't react one way or another to the gesture so perhaps he'd not seen her do that when his finger pushed the button on the side of his shades just as she had finish answering him. Next thing Alexandra knew was that the Lorrdian had reached over to her own pair of shades and pushed the same button. The flyboy's touch against her face sent chills down her spine as suddenly everything went dark again, then after a moment Two commanded his BB-unit to turn back on the hangar lights.

"Well I am more than ready to get out of here and find some mischief with you, though I'm afraid with the tight security for the meetings flight control says we are grounded so no X-wings for us…. But, I was able to commandeer a speeder from the chief mechanic… I did a couple of LOF's for him. He was most appreciative," she grinned, pulling out a key chain from her jean pocket and dangling it in front of him, but not too close that it could be snatched back quickly.

"Chief told me about a nice place not too far of a drive from here towards Lake Country we could kickback and not be disturbed…. Do you like waterfalls and clear blue pools? I hear the sunsets over the mountains are pretty spectacular as well," the brandy-eyed brunette asked with anticipation as her gaze searched his green orbs hoping Aedan did because she'd already planned for it with a picnic basket and essentials waiting in the trunk of the speeder for a day and/or overnight trip. If he said no, which would be crazy to do, duh, then Alleycat would be forced to stun the bearded man and take him anyway. She could always tie Aedan to a tree and make the flyboy watch her play in the showering water trails. And who said swimsuits were required…

He could only offer a chuckle and a smirk to her teasing reaction. "Mischief sounds good" he agreed with a nod. It was hard to argue with the rest of her reasoning as well, so he added "X-Wings does not. Alright, fair enough. We spend enough time up in those anyway" he laughed. Aedan joked, but he imagined neither of them could really ever get enough air-time.

"Commandeer a speeder, eh?" his hand tilted his sunglasses down so she could see his questioning eyes and raised eyebrow. His tone was still playful, as was his smirk. Before he could ask how she did it she told him. Ah. That was far less entertaining than what he had imagined in his mind. When she showed him the keys he instinctively wanted to snatch them right from her. She was prepared for that however, and he could tell the attempt wouldn't get him far. "Sweet."

"That sounds pretty great" he had to admit. Chief knew his spots on Naboo. It was high time that Aedan figured that stuff out too. "Who doesn't like waterfalls and clear blue pools? Sounds perfect to me." it really did. Picturesque. Aedan could easily imagine that after experiencing the best of what Naboo had to offer in terms of nature, there would be little else that could compare.

"Lead the way then" he said with a little nod of the head. His hand grabbed a hold of the strap of his bag. This pilot was ready to race away to enjoy his break. The Rogues didn't get much time off, so when it finally landed in his lap, he intended to make the absolute most of it
