GAL Ltd. are self-sufficient at this point. There is little for me to do and/or worry about short of the time of my next meeting on any given day. That allows me to be more “hands on” and involved, at the same time letting “day to day” be just that. This is also a good cover for “other” ventures, “Hidden” ones that will help make it resourceful for those who would benefit from these daily operations.

As per previous meetings with staff, we are looking into recycling and repurposing of salvaged materials. I have already tasked Halpern with looking at what ships on our manifest we can decommission, but there is still a need for more.

This is the next meeting to which I am waiting for, standing here on the Promenade. Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell is said to be no nonsense, and for the most part, pretty a-political. I can respect that. Hopefully I can respect him.

Only time will tell.

This is what he is saying to people, just like a cutaway

He wasn't quite sure what to make of this space station resort. An interesting concept and one of those highly curated experiences from what he could tell. A resort where the owners carefully pumped in music, sounds, and experiences in order to shape the guest experience. Great for those with children he supposed. Or those looking for a predictable holiday.

Once he had settled in his vessel into the landing space provided, Judah had to find the Promenade. On his own. To see the owner. The old salvager found it very odd. Normally greeted by an assistant or intern or someone in the business. Nothing. Which put him a little on edge in some regard. Perhaps it was a set-up. Or maybe someone who wasn't serious. As many circles as he had previously run in, Thexann Pehnataur Thexann Pehnataur was someone who he had never come across. Nor had he heard much about - beyond doing a little research into this GAL company.

Fumbling his way to the Promenade after getting turned around once, his pace slowed, looking for the man he was supposed to meet. Oceanic eyes looked about for someone who didn't appear to be working on the station or a tourist.

He did not have to look for me long, not only was I not hiding, but I found him. Clearly the man was out of his element and that was understandable, this place was big. Also it was a good place to conduct meetings like this, not that Dashiell knew the entire premise, he didn’t need to. There was nothing to implicate him.

Judah Dashiell? Thexann Pehnataur…
Decorum requires a handshake… as well as an offer of fealty in this case.
Hopefully you had little trouble getting here. I don’t like conducting meetings in the office nowadays so close to Imperial controlled territory.

It was a straight answer. I could speak freely because our security systems are government rated, no one listening in or following me without them knowing.

Have you eaten? I take importance in this meeting, but we can eat and speak freely anywhere on this location

This is what he is saying to people, just like a cutaway

"A pleasure Mister Pehnatur."

Judah reached out and shook the man's hand in greeting. He didn't quite understand the meeting in the open as compared to the office, even with Imperials close. Should someone choose to use a super weapon on the center, location of their meeting shouldn't matter, they would all be vaporized no matter what.

"No trouble at all." He was a little dubious of speaking freely on the station but he wasn't doubting Thexann Pehnataur Thexann Pehnataur yet. After all, he had barely stepped foot onto the station. "We can do whatever you like. Eat, take a walk. I'm flexible."

At this point, no doubt Dashiell was sizing me up. After all, who calls a meeting at a resort?

I would.

Let’s do a little of both then. Walk to the restaurant. Either way, I’m starving.

Dashiell was smart. Was not trying to pry out anything he knew he wouldn’t get, he was also not going to give anything up I didn’t ask directly. I can respect that. As I led hom along the Promenade, by one of the casinos, and passing a mall, I told him the basics of the company. Nothing he would not get in a general search, but a little more personalized. It was when we reached one of the overlooks to a pool that I started to get a little more in detail.

The galaxy is needing more and more efforts in the realm of humanitarian efforts now more than ever. What happened in the core, what happened on and over Atrisia, what is rumored to be ready to happen on and over Voss…

I had to stop for a moment at this point that I was possibly giving away more than I wanted to. Maybe he was involved somehow, maybe he wasn't, maybe he wasn’t privy to everything.

Rookie move on my part.

Long story short, we are building more transports in our shipyards for the purpose of carrying supplies to affected worlds. Now, where you come in, is in if my research is correct, you deal in salvage? We are looking for resources.

Basic information. Things easily research but with a more personal touch. He appreciated the information all the same, when people were passionate about their work and company it showed. There were little tells in these things. If it was a more monotone type of presentation or if Thexann Pehnataur Thexann Pehnataur was going through the motions it spoke volumes. Not that it would stop him from doing business. Judah always felt presentation as a gut feeling thing, if this was someone was worth long-term investment or a mere business arrangement.

Voss? Core wars, yes. Atrisia, yes. He was assisting Matsu Ike Matsu Ike evacuate innocents from the area. Given the size of her business, he had been focused on evacuating the families of her workers in massive salvage vessels. Not fast, but at least there was a vast amount of room. Making a mental note to investigate Voss later, he finally spoke.

"Yes we deal in salvage and metals. What are you looking for? A certain type? A rare one? We've been getting quite a bit of rarer metals thanks to these battles. Refining has already begun."

”What are you looking for?” Or words to that effect. Simple question, yet loaded and telling at the same time. Was he simply looking to do business, or was he looking for more?

Truth be told, it didn’t matter what his motivations were. In this case, I had nothing to hide, or redirect. One of the advantages to being on the Leadership Council of other, more clandestine organizations affords me access to more intelligence reports than one could often shake a proverbial stick at.

Right now, I will take what you are willing to give, or sell actually. After seeing everything that has been happening in the galaxy, the CEO, the head of our Outreach and I are all in agreement, something needs to be done. Thus the increase in shipyard activity.[/COLOR

We finally made it to the steakhouse where they were waiting for us. They wanted to give us a private room, but I refused. The Chef’s table in the kitchen was booked, and I paid for the dinner of those who reserved it, offering them the room and a guaranteed comped dinner at the table tomorrow. Thankfully they accepted. Sure, this may look like a power move on my part, but it is the policy of this station to make sure everyone goes away happy.

Once we were seated, I continued the conversation.

We’ll help on our own if we have to, but we would like to form partnerships, and hopefully, in the future… a coalition of those likeminded.[/COLOR

Yeah, it was a sideways way of telling him what we do, but it was true nonetheless.

"We have all the standard, common metals available - salvage wise. Anything can be obtained within reason raw. My son has his mining business and it would be easy enough to loop him in should you have an eye on something more unusual in larger quantities. Phrik is something I have sustained access too as well via operations on Maramere."

One of his first rare metal holdings, made when his son was still very young. It seemed phrik had fallen out of favor, when he first obtained the substance it seemed the "it" thing to have. Not so much any longer but there was always a market.

As they approached the steakhouse, Judah didn't appreciate the move to kick out those dining at the Chef's Table. Even with Thexann Pehnataur Thexann Pehnataur paying the bill over the next two days he thought it dick move. Trying to flex power? Authority? An illusion of being constantly in control? Judah couldn't figure it out just yet, but it did put him on guard. A mental note to read more in between the lines.

"And who do you consider likeminded as of now? Beyond myself it seems."

Being seated, suit jacket was unbuttoned and he sat back, regarding the other.

People who want to help others. Who did you think I was talking about?

The guy was on his guard, not unexpected, I was talking in circles for the most part. What I was not going to do was come out and tell him who else I represented. One thing I did not, was that the deal was not closed, so I needed to lay the cards on the table.

As I mentioned. We can do this on our own, but we would like to work with those who are able. If you have the resources, I would rather work with you, and your son.

Taking a sip of water, he offered.
I can give you your going rate, plus ten percent of your going rate if that helps.
A flex move? Maybe, but moreso he wanted to show how serious they are.

His whisky arriving at the table, a sip was taken as he listened to the increasing terms of the deal. He could respect not revealing who Thexann Pehnataur Thexann Pehnataur worked with. It didn't quite matter to him but it just seemed odd to talk in circles. He himself had always preferred the more direct route. Cut out miscommunication and often made for a faster business deal. Unless this guy was trying to kill time.

That road of thought seemed a dead end so he stopped there. Keeping his guard up and trying to navigate through fluff would be important. He was used to the type of fluff Danger had - puffing someone up to feel good and hand over terms. This was more just one big winding maze.

"Understandable." Judah paused, raising an eyebrow, trying to keep the look of are you crazy off his face. Probably wasn't succeeding. "No need to pay more. The current going rate of the metals requested is a fine deal. Anything more is just....unwise."

Another sip of his whisky, another question.

"What else were you thinking?"

He thinks that I’m crazy. Good.

I’m not looking for a best friend here, I’m looking for a supplier.Let him think what he wants. As long as he delivers the resources I need, his opinion is irrelevant. I’ve dealt with worse personalities in this line of work, and results are all that matter. Besides that, eventually he might prove able to be brought in.

Just attempting to portray my willingness to make a deal.

Then when he asked what else I was thinking, I remember raising an eyebrow. I didn’t give anything away verbally, did he just do so?
I’m thinking of ordering the Nerf Strip. Anything else? Well I will be meeting with reps from Sasori later on, would you like me to mention your name? Certainly Atrisia could use the help right now.

Not a namedrop, at least not intended as one, just a way to hopefully help close the deal.

"No need to display such willingness Mister Pehnataur. I take this meeting as more than enough interest."

There was truly no need to overpay. There were rare times he really made anyone overpay - if he really wanted to get ahead it always came to length of contracts, percentages on items sold, metals, these sorts of things. Typically those such maneuvers were left for governments, not other businesses. It was best not to screw over those who bought from him - governments rose and fell, companies were much more long lasting.

"I don't see a purpose in mentioning my name. Once the dust has settled, and its safe for a civilian team, I plan on beginning a salvage process to clear their orbit and hyperlanes. I'm sure there will be a charity auction or gala coming up, somewhere to donate and assist with the rebuilding. I'm sure Miss Ike will direct me as needed. That's her sector of space, I'm just a willing assistant to get lives rebuilt."

There wasn't much he could do beyond that. Naturally over the coming years the Core itself would need a lot of investment in infrastructure and just general rebuilding. Although he suspected much of what that looked like depended on whatever government came into power - yet even the Sith and Imperials wanted a thriving economy, even if they often had different ends to that mean.

"Plans to assist in the rebuilding, Mister Pehnataur?"
