Request for a GA Outpost on Kiribi

Hello, would it be possible for my planet to host some sort of GA contingency as an added measure of defense? Some recent moves by the GR heads are leaving me worried about my system from both an IC and OOC perspective. We're also next door to Eshan, who is friendly with the GA. (I'm cool with their leaders). I'd still like Kiribi to be part of the GR, but I just want some extra muscle around as I complete the build-up of local forces.

The possibility of that exists, but there are some logistical concerns, namely keeping such a base supplied. The One Sith control all the major hyperlanes that lead into the Core. To get there safely, any supply convoys would have to first have to go around One Sith space. Without any hyperlanes, such a convoy could take weeks to get the planet.

The only feasible way to support such a base would require the base to have production facilities to make or repair armors, tools, and weapons, ground or air support vehicles, food stocks, medical supplies, etc. While the Alliance is certainly happy to work to protect those in need, In the name of potentially saving many lives and credits, I have to ask what you see as the benefit of such an arrangement? While the Alliance is certainly dedicated to rooting out and defeating the Sith and all other Dark Siders from the galaxy, some might see such a move on our part as an aggressive move against the Republic.

The faction heads decided to relocate our capital from Chazwa all the way down to Yutan. I guess OOCily, they're spooked about the possibility of the Mandalorians taking the upper half of our core pocket, which would cut through Chazwa. I don't know anything about that, but now this move leaves my system at the very fringe of Republic space, sandwiched between the Sith and the Mandalorians. That makes me very uncomfortable. ICily, I view this move as the Republic signalling a willingness to bail out of the core space that it controls. Maybe a good move for the preservation of the GR (central government), but not for Kiribi.

Lore wise, Kiribi is an advanced, self-sufficient system. It has its own supplies of tibanna from a pair of gas planets, and other raw materials from its asteroid belts. Kiribi's biotechnology rivals that of Sith alchemists and the Yuuzhan Vong in sophistication and scale, producing alternative medical treatments that match the effectiveness of kolta and bacta. It has well-developed manufacturing sector that can build anything shy of large capital ships. However, Kiribi is friendly with Eshan next door, who has shipyards that can produce large vessels and installations. Kiribi has a standing army, but I'm throwing up a formal group submission so that everything is kosher in case some conflict breaks out.

So in short, Kiribi has the means to support any sort of GA garrison indefinitely. Eshan also exists as an ally, and I'm working on making nice with the Alderaanians and Mandalorians. I have no ties to the events of 'Red Dawn', or Roche, so I think things will work out. I just need some committed bodies as a little insurance as I finish setting things up. In return, I'm more than happy to work with you all in fighting the Sith.

As for concerns about the GR response, I don't see there being much issue. I can host the GA under the cover of the privateering plan by the Chancellor.

I must say, you've answered all my questions and concerns in a rather eloquent manner. If the system has all the means to function self-sufficiently, then I can't see a reason why the Alliance can't set up an outpost on your homeworld.

I believe [member="Jacen Voidstalker"] said something about bringing this up within a Jedi meeting thread. Is that alright with you?
