Renewing the Old, Creating the New

John Ash

Only by Fire do we become Ash.
The Pii system was still very much a work in progress. The lack of infrastructure for the system was proving to be an issue even if John was seeing to it that everything was put in right the first time and could be maintained after easily. It was an undertaking to be sure, but it should be smoother and easier than it was currently going. The main issue as to why though had less to do with supply issues and more to do with having enough hands for all of the jobs needing done. The Pii system wasn't hitting 200,000 inhabitants currently even after John had allowed the Republic exiles to stay and offered the pirates a clean slate deal. So if he wanted things to progress any further with that system and maybe even get some extra help for his company, he was going to need to start using droids.

John had done his research when going into the system and some research after he had gained control of it. Every company on Pii had used these specialty droids from Industrial Automatons to do all of the heavy lifting for them and cut down on their employee costs. This had continued on for decades if not centuries until the Gulag Plague had caused the galaxy as a whole to digress after every system isolated themselves. The old contract had been lost in that too it seemed, but the droids were still out there. He could use them to start harvesting some of the greel wood again and start bringing back in some credits. He could also use a general labor droid as well for everything else.

So with that in mind, John found out who owned Industrial Automatons currently. He wasn't familiar with this Stardust person, but it looked like the company could use some business. The company had seen some tough times after all and the popular items they made were so flooded onto the market still that everyone was making them regardless of copyrights or similar legalities. He sent a message to the new owner and asked if they would be willing to discuss a potential renewal on the old contract and attach a new section for a new labor droid to it as well. He asked for a good, neutral meeting location as well as a time from them as well. Now it was just time to wait for a response to know what the next move was.

Truthfully she almost forgot about the company

Then again lot has been happening to her, right now she had just finished looking over documents and had passed out for about a hour before the chime of a message came through. She opened it lazily as she looked it over, at first she was bored reading it but as her body slowly woke up she realized this was a chance of a life time to get her company moving yet again

As she looked further she saw he wanted a labor droid as well...surely no problem at all, she gave him a time as she was excited...finally her company could get to work again and people cpuld get paid by working

Location-naboo court side cafe
Time- noon

Stardust stood quickly as she let a servant know she had a business trip and to watch over her child, she then made her way to the space port and was off

John read the response that was given him and sneered at it. Naboo. He would sooner bed an entire hutt family every night for several months than set foot on that karking hell hole of a planet. His mood was soured now, more so than usual, so he shot them back a reply saying to pick a different planet. He hated Naboo with a burning passion and wouldn't go near it for any reason. The best he could do was fly within eyesight of it and then he would be extra grumpy for a week. So to see it brought up did just that to him. He decided he couldn't trust this person's judgement on planets after the whole Naboo suggestion so he sent them a second message that switched the meet up to Tattooine in a particular cantina tucked away in a quiet part of Mos Eisley. It was still for the same time however. He then got up and went looking for his gun. He needed to shoot something right now badly.

The day for the meet up had arrived and John was waiting already in a private room in the back of the cantina. He had informed the bartender to point this Stardust woman to head his way when she arrived. He hoped this person was a woman at least with that kind of name and not some guy that enjoyed cross dressing as a female twi'lek too much. He had seen some weird things on Nar Shaddaa and dealing with a guy that identified as a female twi'lek was not one he wanted to see again. So he just sat back with his drink and his holopad on the table. He came dressed in his armor, which looked more like something you would find someone wearing in these parts anyways, and had his pistols holstered to his side. The outer rim was not the sort of place you did business in unarmed, even if the other person was completely safe to deal with.

Tattoonie

Well it wasn't the worst of places, but the man was quite quick to change the lo ation up, stardust had her ship drop out of hyperspace as she didn't feel this was right naboo was a peaceful place so why would someone wish to avoid it...unless you had a record of course...better play it safe..

She made the decision to head to tattoonie, however she went to her private quarters and armed herself up, now armor this but her westars would be in each hip next to her sword and sabers, bandaloier nice and secured with a fee grenades attached, least to say no one would mess with her that was smart

She landed at the spaceport and slowly made her way to the cantina, she was quickly redirected by the bartender to a private room with a man setting there, she gave a polite bow and sat down

afternoon, I shall assume your Mr ash? I am stardust raxis owner of industrial automations a pleasure to meet you

Mos Eisley never did seem to change. The place was a bustling port town within the desert that was Tattooine. It was more important as a stop off for repairs and refueling than it was for any kind of trade that is if the trade was legal. So the types who traveled around here tended to be smugglers, outlaws, and strangely salt of the sands types. John fit in here because of this and his time on Nar Shaddaa. It came as no surprise to him then that the owner of Industrial Automatons, [member="Stardust Raxis"] , had come in so armed to their meeting. A little too armed if you asked John. The most she would need would be those blasters on her hips and maybe one of those glowy sticks the space wizards loved to use. Regardless, it was time to start the meeting.

John nodded to Stardust and motioned for her to take a seat. He then slide the holopad over to her so she could look it over. He said as he did, " John Ash, owner of Ashhearth Industries and the Pii System. I sent you the request regarding this old contract with your company. One of the past owners of the system had a long lasting contract for the production of these FLR logger droids. I want to renew the contract for them with you. I would also like to see about the creation of a line of general labor droids. We will be needing some to do everything from lifting cargo to working farms to mining to salvage work. Can your company do that?" A lot of chatter just now. John hated having to be too chatty, but it was all needing to be said. Business required chatter after all. Now it was just time to sit back and wait to see what this heavily armed business woman said.

Maybe It was just in her blood, a warrior by heart to her this was never overdone, but mearily a deterrent to those that would wish to cause trouble. She picked the pad up and looked it over

so a renewal and a request for a new lone to be made hm? Interesting say the least, I'm sure getting all this won't be a problem my question is price. What are you willing to offer in order for me to make these droids, the contract we'll go off of what was being paid before the contract was dropped.

Business was business and what made them work was credits, however star was still more then happier to get this droid built, maybe from this it would generate greater revenue from other people and factions

The twi'lek woman took the holopad and was reading it over. As she did that, John made sure to pay attention to the open slot where a door should have been. The cantina beyond was as busy as always and no one seemed to pay them much mind. He figured they were just being treated as a mercenary and a smuggler or outlaw making some kind of deal. It didn't look out of the ordinary and realistically it wasn't. The only odd thing about it was that the transaction was not related to violence and was legit and honest. It was also a bit odd for John to think that he was on the end of the client rather than the one company or mercenary side for a change. Regardless of his feelings, the deal continued on.

Star's questions about the price was expected. It was always one of John's first questions as well and the whole point of forming a binding contract. He tapped the holopad in the corner and a listing of the prices he was willing to pay for each item showed up. It was a tad low but not unfair, especially considering the volume that he was looking to purchase from her over time. It even included a deal on metals to be delivered to her company for a good discount for use in her future droid projects. One of the perks of having a company that specialized in salvage operations as well as producing products. He sat back after so that she had time to look it all over.

After what John figured to be enough time to get the gist of the deal had past, he said, " Do we have a deal?" He then waited for [member="Stardust Raxis"] to respond. If she took the deal then great. If she wanted to adjust it then that was expected. Regardless of the outcome things were moving along well enough for him.

She looked over the pricing, at first her face frowned then read on as she gave a snile, the low prices was made up for by the quantity and the deals she was getting on the metal. Certainly was a great deal, she looked up as she had a smile

certainly we do mr ash

She said and held her hand out for him to shake

This was one of the fastest, smoothest meetings he had gone through up to date. John was glad for that since he hated dealing with all of the extra stuff that most others wanted to get into. He pulled the holopad over and began to mess with it. He pulled up the contract that was prepared for the original deal just in case it was taken. He glanced over it for a bit to make sure it was all how he had asked for it to be. Once he was satisfied, he signed his portions of the contract. He then slide it back over to [member="Stardust Raxis"] and said, " Look it over and then sign everywhere I did in the line below. We will get your first shipment of metal and payment to you as soon as this is finalized. You will receive your own copy as well."

John then just sat back and waited for Star to handle her end of the contract. It should have been fairly simple and straightforward. At least it was going to be as much of both of those as any business and legal document could be. As soon as she had it all taken care of he would take the holopad back and scan it over to make sure she didn't miss anything. When he was satisfied he put it away and stood up. The first thing he did after was straighten up his duster and then say, " Pleasure doing business with you. Send us word as soon as the first shipment of droids is ready and will be delivered. I will make sure your ships are allowed through with little hassle."

[member="John Ash"]

She looked over and began signing quickly, she hummed a bit as she did before long the document was signed, she looked over the page one more time before she handed to him

likewise to you, you'll get the labor droids once everything is finalized and confirmed

She handed it back as she watched him herself setting back, everything was going pretty simple at the moment, then again nothing could go wrong it was a legit simple business exchange, she bowed her head politely

will do mr ash, they shpuld he ready within half a month and hopefully by then your order for the labor droid will also be prepared
