Development Thread: N/A
Who Can Use This: The Republic, The Corporate Alliance
Description: A cruiser designed to feel more in line with common Rendili and Republic design schemes, the Rendili Cruiser bears the marked resemblance to its older Praetorian and Hammerhead lines while also holding similar themes common to older Republic Consular class light cruisers and older Corellian Corvettes. Even down to the paint job the Rendili Cruiser continues the favored red and white pattern common to many old Rendili and Republic warships to hold true to its intended role as a potential ship of the line for both the Republic and the world it was manufactured on.

However, the truest reason for the ship's existence is the create a heavy warship similar in marked firepower to the existing Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser also designed and produced by Rendili Stardrive. Yet, at the same time it is meant to be more versatile than the lumbering beast that the Dreadnought class fields. As such the Rendili Cruiser class sports features the Dreadnought Cruiser ignores, such as a small hanger capacity for light starfighter support, greater versatility in its armaments range and abilities, and a slimmer design to allow for greater speeds. It fills many roles ranging from system patrol, to mainline warship, to support, and even acting efficiently as an escort or transport.

In other regards though, the Rendili Cruiser finds itself lacking to the Dreadnought Class Rendili has prided itself on for ages. Unlike the Dreadnought design the Rendili Cruiser does not bear the additional hull plating the Dreadnought boasts, and neither does it sport the same shield strength as the Dreadnought, sacrificing a layer that the other vessel supports. In addition while it does hold pride in its heavy weaponry the Rendili Class does not wield the same level of destructive power in slugfests. All in all while the Rendili Class certainly allows for more options it comes down to the needs of the organization employing Rendili Warships if they need something that can fill many roles or if they rather work with something dedicated to withstanding heavy assaults while also dishing them out like the Dreadnought Class.

Its only as powerful as an assault cruiser, with a lower missile count and defense gun count than normal since I think Quad lasers were standard over Dual.

Mkay, thing is that dual heavy lasercannons bring them back up to full power, really. For point defense that is. With that, its kinda high for point defense.
