Ren is a young and handsome kid. He has a very skinny physique, although, like most Jedi, he is strong and well-built. His skin is smooth and tan from being in the sun all the time as a child, he also has rich, caramel colored hair.

Personality
Ren is a shy and very mysterious boy. He loves being with others, but doesn't like to talk with them. Even those who know him well rarely see him come out of his shell. Although he lacks confidence, Ren's will and determination makes him an excellent Jedi.

Birth
Ren Colvet was born on the planet Corellia to Jokk and Nia Colvet, two successful and well-known bounty hunters. Since they were still in the earlier years of their marriage and didn't really want a child, they abandoned him, and left him on the steps of an orphanage before he had even reached the age of 1. Although, because he was so young, he was adopted only two weeks later.

The woman who adopted him was a Twi'lek merchant known as Alema. She was a young, single woman who's parents and siblings were sold into slavery when she was just a child. Alema was a very caring and nurturing mother, she would often let Ren sleep with her instead of a crib. Ren often remembers that fact with fondness, as he believes it shows how great a parent Alema was and that she was the only true mother he ever had.
However, after a few short years of bliss, Ren and Alema discovered that Ren was Force-Sensitive. Despite her love for Ren, Alema knew that the right thing to do was to give him to the Jedi, so that he could use his power for good and help others. She decided to contact the Order of the Silver Jedi, and after telling them about Ren, a Jedi Knight was dispatched and picked him up, much to Ren's dismay.

During this point in his life, Ren was training as a Youngling, learning about the Force and the Jedi's way of life. He was also still very much bothered by the fact that he was pried away from someone he cared about that quickly, as a result, he tried to not grow any attachments in hopes that he would not be as upset as when he was when he left Alema. This belief made Ren distant and quiet, which left others wondering why he was so mysterious and quiet. Nevertheless, Ren trained his hardest in both brain and brawn, working on his lightsaber combat and connection in the Force.
At the age of eleven, he and several other Younglings went on an excursion to the icy, unforgiving planet of Ilum, to find their lightsaber crystal. There, Ren found a green crystal, and after being taken back to Coruscant, crafted his lightsaber. He spent the next year training in all forms of combat while also working up his confidence, developing friendships, and looking for a Master.

These two years were the biggest in the development of Ren's current day personality. It was during these two years that Ren underwent lots of soul-searching and understanding his true feelings. As a teenager growing with hormones, Ren started feeling urges just like all the other kids his age, however, he soon realized that he didn't quite feel about girls the same way he did about guys, and after struggling with major identity crisis, he eventually settled down, and came to terms with the fact that he was gay. Despite understanding who he really was, Ren developed a fear of his sexuality, for he felt that if his friends and peers ever figured out who he was, then they would abandon him. So, Ren kept his feelings secret, and kept quiet about who he was, letting his nervousness take over.
