RELICS OF THE FORGOTTEN

Another rumour, another blasted journey to another planet that burned her senses right off. For the cold that had been summoned upon this globe was not one she wished upon her worst of rivals. So, as Soliane left the spaceship, she loaned from Jado, she had been tucked away in several layers of pale fur. The only thing that could keep her from getting frostbite, hopefully. Her dark eyes trailed over the environment, it was a lot of snow, save for the giant ice wall near the ship. Her scanner had been fixating on the energy signatures near the region, so whatever artefact would be frozen hidden here, was either on that place or in it. Sol retreated back into the craft, grabbing a shoulderbag with some tools in it, before entering the thick layers of snow leading ahead.

Several curses left her lips as she barely managed to endure the terrain, more so prancing around like an undersized wampa. Yet after a bounty of minutes of loudly cussing out her mentor for even sending her here, her gloved fingers finally grazed the iced wall. It was tall. Likely the product of several decades or centuries of snowing. But behind its ice lay a certain darkness, almost a hollow space? Mayhaps this temple or whatever it had once been, had been preserved considerably. Mayhaps. With frozen hands, she tried to grab the icepick from her bag and attempt to cut through the ice.

Tick, tick, tick... It felt like a rotation had passed once she succeeded in making a narrow entrance. Hardly any space for herself to crawl through, but it would have to make do. There must be better ways to get into this place, but neither her mind or body wished to traverse any more layers of snow...

ILUM

Searching For : Academy Trap Rings

Ilum was, in her opinion, a planet only for nerds. Nerds in the sense the only things valuable were minerals and crystals that looked pretty and cause people like her adoptive father to all but pass out in excitement.

For her? The most exciting was dragging out her deep-cold winter wardrobe. Rarely worn due to her time spent in more temperate climates. Persephone was certain she had spent more time in deserts at this point. Winter wonderland wasn't her thing but right now it had to be. She was working on opening Persephone's Galactic Antiquities and Objects of Interests. Opening may be a stretch, more selling at auctions. At this point her reputation needed building, everyone saw her as some rich socialite who knew nothing. Rich, yes. Socialite, also yes. A no nothing? Hardly.

Behind her in the cold was Zee, her bodyguard-slash-personal assistant. She could hear his servos struggling despite being a top of the line Arceneau creation.

"Might have to get your servos checked Zee. Perhaps a different type of oil? Lubricant?"

[ A colder rated lubricant, Miss Persephone. ]

"At least we're out of the elements. Plus we have a map. Just got to go slow."

[ Of course. Do you think any are left? ]

"I think so Zee. I mean, Jedi - from what I know - don't touch this stuff. They're scared of it or something. I think we should be in luck."

A heavy shiver ran over her body as she crawled her way into the temple, the regret of coming to this planet filling her mind over and over again. How could people survive on planets akin to Ilum? A snowball in the middle of nowhere. At least it held some history, and in that regard, riches. Fortunately. But with riches, came competition and rivalries. Soliane tried to navigate her way through the dark hall, clutching the energy tracker in her hand, as if it was the key to her ever decreasing sanity. She heard something in the distance, but with the small gaps in the ice, it could just be the wind howling. Never once did it occur to her that there was someone else, here, right at this moment.

The treasure hunter discovered that the hall led into a large open space. Large pillars and ceramic floor depicting intricate, yet weathered imagery. And fortunately with a partially ruined ceiling through which some rays of light flickered through. What wasn't a part of the decor, were the rather... noteworthy pink droid and a girl in luxurious winter wear. Who looked as if she belonged in one of the blinding holo-adverts she had seen on a City planet. Sol attempted to hide -- emphasis on attempted, for she slipped on some of the iced debris on the floor, and not-so-gracefully landed. "Ow..." Was all that left her lips, the cold making the ache even more unbearable than it already would have been.

The best thing to do now? Feign being friendly and pray that the droid wouldn't tear her apart. "This planet is giving me a headache." Soliane's voice tinged with something from the Deep Core? Chandrilan, in a sense. She crawled up and smiled at the girl and her companion. "So much for a pleasant vacation."

ILUM

Holographic map projected in her hand, Persephone had paused in the atrium of the Temple to get her bearings and decide next steps. Her map wasn't marked with what the rooms were once used for, just the general layout. Which meant poking around and down each tunnel to search. Time consuming and she was trying to use visual context clues of possible locations without being down here all day.

Just as she was about to suggest which corridor to head down to Zee, there was a crash and a woman laying on the floor. Zee was immediately on the situation, putting himself between her and the stranger. A stranger bemoaning a headache. Wasn't going to be the only thing aching after a fall like that. Seemed a rookie mistake.

Slowly she approached, peering down at what was now evident as a mystery woman.

"Who takes a vacation on Ilum besides Jedi?" Suspicion colored her tone, a judgmental look creeping in across her features.

Amid her climb back up, Sol felt a shadow pour over her as the pink droid stared her up and down. Assessing the hostile, just as she was nervously doing, flicking her dark eyes between the girl and her 'assistant'. An uneasy grin crawling on her face, nigh on apologetic, nigh on frantic. Why had her excuse been a vacation? Which dolt would take a vacation out to a planet that could freeze your skin right off? Soliane blurted out the first thing that came to mind. "I am a news reporter... Coruscanti news outlet." She murmured as she finally got up. Her hand scratching her head rhythmically, seeking to soothe the ever-growing ache. "My boss sent me here to investigate some..."

Without even realising it, her words wandered off into the abyss, whilst she attempted leaning against some of the unstable debris. "It was supposed to be the headline, something about a... ring--" Another acheing grunt escaped her lips as she dramatically swatted her hand away. Before stabilising herself, all was still moving from her point of view. "My boss can be as clueless as a happabore on spice. Why would a ring be here? HIDING ON A KRIFFING SNOWBALL?!" Part of her anger was redirected at her mentor for even sending her here, for allowing her to embarrass herself so idiotically. Soliane took a deep breath before extending her gloved, yet frozen, hand. "Right, introductions. I am Jado Kilan, a pleasure-" She figured using her old man's name was a safe bet for the time being.
