SPECIAL FEATURES

Modular Construction Blocks

Strengths:
  • Armored Block - Designed to withstand a myriad caustic and lethal environments for the purposes of mining, transportation of supplies, and various other jobs. This great hulking heap of metal will get you where you need to go, be it through the spewing lava of an angry planet or the blitz of an assault. It's numerous types of shields can be employed depending on the situation, but only one shield type can be used at a given time.
  • The Love that Keeps on Lovin' - Thanks mostly in part to very basic and simplified components, the Anvil Class Corvette is a ship built for durability and longevity of its job, nothing more. When something breaks (if something breaks) they're easy to repair or replace, and typically inexpensive to do so. The most expensive portion of the ship is the plating, and that doesn't often need replacing.
  • Modular - Modularity is another key to the Anvil's small popularity. Built in modular sections that can be swapped out, the ship can be reconfigured to fulfill various needs being they extra cargo space for hauling goods or supplies, additional crew quarters, containment cells for holding creatures or criminals, expanded fuel containers or engine blocks, to customized blocks for specific needs such as ore refineries, Forge, etc.
  • Caravan Ready - Not only is the Anvil internally modular, but it also boasts some external modularities as well. Multiple Anvils can be linked via energy binders and/or bulkhead locks in order to form cargo caravans on a larger scale. These binders and locks can also be used as tugs for stranded ships. Multiple Anvils can be used to tug ships much larger than them.
Weaknesses:
  • Turtley-enough for the Turtle Club - Let it never be said you weren't warned. When you agree to pilot an Anvil, you agree to wrastling a gigantic metal turtle through sky and space. It's not pretty. It certainly isn't majestic. Won't ever be a shining moment of speed or agility for the attending Captain. The Anvil doesn't corner, it makes slow bumbling circles. There is no grace to its take off, but rather a slow backwards-molasses ascent into the open sky. Its hyperdrive speed is unremarkable, but certainly not the slowest around.
  • Bulldozer - The Anvil class was not build as a military ship and therefore lacks any means of defending itself or going on the offensive other than its sheer bulky, blunt mass. It's engines weren't build for speed, but for hauling power, granting the Anvil the ability to bully its way through obstacles while taking the brunt of damage instead of making a speedy getaway.
  • Can't Hear You - A twofold drawback to this ship. Unless customized to reduce noise, it is a loud and a clunky ship to pilot. Occupants of the ship are required to wear headgear comms in order to communicate while the engines are running, and while most crew-quarter quadrants are insulated in order to let the crew get some sleep, the remainder of the ship is not.
  • Out of Range - Due to the purpose the Anvil was designed for, the standard communications relay for the Anvil has a short range, read: in-system. Without some form of signal booster, droid or otherwise, the Anvil's communication is useless when traveling deep space. A customized comms unit block is required for far-ranging space travel.
