Description: Light and fast attack craft are commonplace in most standard navies. These ships often serve as picket forces as well as exploratory vessels to gauge enemy strength when engaging. As such, these craft tend to be smaller and quicker than the heavy hitting warcraft, making them ideal for popping into a battle, firing some shots off, and retreating back behind enemy lines. These ships are ideal for exploiting openings that have been created by the heavier vessels, and providing additional fire support with numbers to the bigger ships of the line. The Regulation-class is not as fast or as maneuverable as most Corvette's of its size, but this is due to the inclusion of the CDA armor in order to prolong the ships longevity in battle and make it ideal to serve in picketing/border patrol maneuvers as well.

It bears a slightly heavy armament in the form of two HARPER's and 6 turbolasers with OPDL's for defense, making it a heavy assault corvette more than anything. The substandard (for military) hyperdrive is necessary to offset construction costs. Additionally, the ship is not outfitted with a Command Throne like most of then R-series warships are, meaning it requires a full compliment of trained personnel to run it, rather than just a base crew. This makes the loss of one of these ships more costly as the ship has to be replaced along with a full compliment of crew personnel. But with the defensive measures in place, and the armament, losing them is believed to be a relatively rare thing provided they have good captains and good admirals.
