Red Tape and Bureaucracy

I sat waiting in a reception room outside the office of [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] for my appointment with the woman. She was the Supreme Commander of the Galactic Republic Military and was in charge of contracting corporations to the Republic. I had contacted her loosely, and had been granted an audience not long ago, hoping to use my placement within the military and my willingness to assist them in order to land a fairly prosperous agreement.

Earlier I had created the Arbiter line of Helmets and Armor to be issued to Officers and Special Forces units, and I had begun work on a new line of weapons to go with those sets. Benji was now working on even more equipment, hoping to rearm the Republic Special Forces units with new and update technology. He was still kicking around ideas and wanted to expand our holdings to include an office in Roche, so I would have to talk about that at length with [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] during our meeting.

A glance down at the datapad would remind the admiral that a meeting was scheduled with [member="Draco Vereen"]. This seemed to be in regards to a corporate contract for military equipment, which always peaked her interest. Walking towards one of the many conference rooms within the military's headquarters on Onderon, Kayleigh made note that the request had also come from one of the enlisted personnel within the military. Anything related to arms and armor would be of interest to the Republic as a whole, as they were currently in the process of revamping their entire line of armaments, and any help on that front would be fantastic.

As she entered the conference room she made note of the time. She was still a little early. That is how she was though. Anywhere of importance that needed to be sought to prompted her to be early, no matter what it was. To kill some time she fired up her datapad and began to look through the current armory manifest to continue separating the new from the old and what was to be decommissioned in the near future.

The secretary came and informed me that [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] had moved into the conference room where we would be meeting, "Mister Vereen, Admiral Tyven is in the conference room if you would like to go on in." I smiled at the secretary and stood up, quickly gathering my things which included a case containing several weapons my company produced. The weapons had been peace-locked and were unloaded, and passed through security, but they were still weapons. Within the small briefcase I carried I had designs for several other projects yet to enter into production.

I entered the conference room and sure enough there was a young woman sitting at one end of the table. I decided it best to sit closer to her and walked to the table, putting the locked case and by brief case down behind where I would be standing. I smiled at the woman and extended my hand to her. "Its good to meet you Madam Tyven. I have been looking forward to this for quite some time now." I said, comfortable and calm, trying to keep a business appropriate speech and voice. I knew a lot of my Outer Rim Drawl came out, but hopefully it made me sound sophisticated.

Kayleigh smiled as [member="Draco Vereen"] entered, extending her hand in return and shaking it gently. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Kayleigh will do fine, no need for that."

The admiral gestured towards a seat for him to take, and she promptly dropped herself into an adjacent one, facing him with a nod.

"I understand you wished to discuss the Republic, the military, and a contract of sorts? I am intrigued by what you'd like to propose. I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long. I apologize if so, as my schedule is quite hectic these days."

I decided to remain standing so as to be able to reach everything within the case so far. "Yes, we at ArmaTech would like to offer our services to the Republic. It occurred to us that you lack a devoted R&D division or a large scale arms manufacturer." I replied confidently. I pulled the case open and withdrew from it an ACS-201 Exterminator and ACS-202 Vanquisher placing them upon the table. "Two of our finest small arms currently in production." I said gesturing to the weapons. "The ACS-201 Exterminator features powerful 10mm rounds and a large box magazine reducing the need for reloading. It also features a secondary magazine to contain special ammunition, which we also offer." I paused for a moment.

I picked up the ACS-202 Vanquisher "This is our take on the old school T-21. Ours is shorter and features an extended powercell allowing for longer use without needing to reload. Its also more ergonomic." I said placing the weapon back on the table. "We already released the Arbiter Series armor and helmet and are interested in forming a close bond with the Republic Military, of which I am a member." I finished my initial pitch, comfortabe with how it went. Finally I took my seat beside her and pulled out a stack of schematics contained within my briefcase. I turned to [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] awaiting her response.
