Intent: To create an anti-vehicle weapon to be given out at Corruck's digression.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: ReCal Manufacturing Inc.
Model: ReCal Rocket Launcher
Affiliation: ReCal, Rebel Alliance
Modularity: The launcher can use the targeting computer mechanism or it may use the laser point system. Also the launcher has a wire connector to be used with astromech droids if needed.
Production: Minor
Material: Durasteel, rocket components, duraplast, computer components

Classification: Rocket Launcher
Size: Handheld
Length: 1 m from back to front
Weight: 11 kg When unloaded

19 kg when loaded
Ammunition Type: Concussion Missiles (Starfighter grade)
Ammunition Capacity: One shot then reload
Effective Range: Initial lock on must be accomplished with the target within half a kilometer of the gunner. The rocket may then follow the intended target for 1.8 kilometer, if it proves to be equal in speed to the missile. The range of the laser system fired rocket is 800 meters

Rate of Fire: Single action

Special Features: This rocket launcher fires a starfighter grade concussion missile. The missile is strong enough to pierce most ship grade armors. The missile has double action rocket, the first launches the missile from the launcher forward 5 meters, and then the second rocket launches the missile at an angle towards the target into the air. The missile will then follow the target until it either runs out of fuel or destroys the target. The targeting system utilizes the system normally found in star fighters, the components are separated into two sections, the main computer which is found within the launcher and the targeting reticle which is separate from the launcher. The reticle is a handheld datapad like device that one looks through and aims at the intended target, the reticle must be held over the target for ten to twelve seconds, there will be a confirmation note when the target lock has been acquired.
When using the laser point system one must simply keep the reticle aimed at the target and the missile will attempt to follow the reticle’s aim.

Description: Aside from the above stated features, the launcher is optimally operated with a two man group. One will be the shooter who launches the missile when told to, while the other reloads the weapon and gives the missile its target lock. When aiming at Starfighters, which is not uncommon with this being a starship grade concussion missile, the lock takes 30 seconds unless there is an outside calculation method, specifically an astromech droid. The droid allows the computations to be accomplished in a much swifter timing (normally ten seconds). It is normally suggested that the laser point system is used for larger targets, such emplacements and larger vehicles/starships. That form of targeting has less range and the ability to follow the target is based solely on the ability of the person holding the reticle, so larger slower targets are easier to aim at and destroy.

Strengths:
+ The Missile is ship grade, meaning it is stronger than most handheld concussion missiles would be, allowing it to penetrate more powerful armors, including Starfighters.

+ The weaponry system allows the launcher to lock on first, meaning that one may fire and then move out without having to be overly worried about the missile hitting its target.
+ With a two man team the missile can accomplish 10 rounds a minute, assuming that there are enough targets to aim at.
+ The ability is of the launcher to utilize two different targeting systems allows it to be more versatile than most other conventional launchers.

Weaknesses:
- The system requires the reticle to remain over the target so that the computer can get a lock, if the target moves out of the reticle then the computer resets.
- Starfighters are much more difficult to acquire a lock on and require more time, unless you have an astromech, however you will still need to keep the reticle over the Starfighter which is not an easy task with faster moving fighters.
- If a vehicle or Starfighter is fast enough they may be able to avoid being hit by the missile, or if they can keep it maneuvering till it runs out of fuel.
- The ability to move with the launcher is negligible when it is loaded, to have full mobility one must fire the weapon or remove the round.
- With the laser point system, the rocket follows a single laser, if something comes in between the laser and the target the missile will change course to follow the laser not the target.
- If comm jammers or an EMP is used within range of the reticle and the computer, the lock on mechanisms are susceptible to failure, however once a lock has been acquired and the missile fire there is no way to dislodge it from its target.
- As when using Starfighter targeting systems, if used on a ship with an early warning system, it will give the pilot time to respond by juking or maneuvering to stop the lock on.

A very simple and useful anti-starfighter/attack craft weapon solution. It's got far more weaknesses than strengths and you've done your research on this. I see no qualms against approving it. Nice work.

Pending approval and Merry Christmas!
