DESCRIPTION
In the aftermath of the Core-Imperial Confederation’s sudden, and inexplicable collapse, the Republic Engineering Corporation found itself in possession of a priceless artifact. It was a functioning database that possessed the ancient schematics of vessels that were long-forgotten by the Galaxy at large. Every battle tank and walker that ever served the Old Republic were now in the hands of those that had the skills to give their venerable designs new life within the modern era. As more and more code was translated from one database to another, the various design teams within the Vehicle Division began rolling out their newfound designs to the Board of Directors; who ultimately gave them the green light to pursue the various items that were attached to Project: Restoration.

With the uncanny popularity of the Fighter Tank taking the Galaxy by storm, the corporate heads at REC wanted another vehicle to supplement their ever-growing catalogue. This time around, the design team decided to go with the venerable HAVw A6 Juggernaut, which acted as a super-heavy troop transport for the Galactic Republic, and for the insidious Galactic Empire thereafter. While it was true that the Juggernaut series had its issues, one couldn’t deny the sheer carrying capacity and firepower this ‘Turbo Tank’ brought to bear. Such a vehicle was terrifying to behold, and if the ancient Droids of the Clone Wars could feel the absolute terror that this towering edifice projected - they’d turn and run. Yet, sadly, that most primal of emotions wasn’t programmed into the battle droids of yore.

So, more often than not, they stood their ground and engaged the target at range, doubtlessly supported by aerial forces, or mechanized armour. An act that ultimately led towards the destruction of many Turbo Tanks throughout the Clone Wars.

Thus, the design team at Republic Engineering Corporation sought to capitalize on its ancient intent and like everything that came before this newest addition to their roster - enhance the design towards perfection. They began with replacing most of the internal systems, which was easier than expected as the Juggernaut already came with a streamlined automation package. In upgrading the internal systems, REC was able to vastly reduce the crew count required to operate this titanic vehicle. In addition to the reduced crew requirements, the design team elected to include an integrated duplicator that would utilize various materials and munitions to produce a steady stream of warheads. Which in turn would be funnelled through various automated systems, before being loaded into the retractable missile pods - giving this iteration of the Juggernaut a little more battlefield endurance, before requiring to refuel and rearm.

Like many of the vehicles that were produced before this version of the Juggernaut, many of its weapons systems found themselves upgraded into their more unstable, but equally dangerous particle cannon variants. Not only would the wheeled vehicle strike fear into the hearts of the opposition, but it’d be capable of devastating the landscape afore it, alongside anything that foolishly stood in the way.

Due to the super-heavy designation, and massive size of the vehicle, traditional wheels wouldn’t cut it. They’d explode from the structural duress, and from the constant motion that was required to propel this armoured behemoth forward. Thus, the decision was made to follow their ancestors’ path and forge the wheels entirely from composite metal alloys - which were then textured to churn the ground beneath as the vehicle was thrown forward, or in reverse, like any other primitive means of locomotion. With metallic tyres, it was almost impossible to leave the hulking vehicle stranded or immobilized - unless the wheels themselves were sabotaged by a large enough explosion or a patient foe with the plasmatic edge of a lightsabre. Even though the drive systems were exposed, they were reinforced by redundant armour plating - and benefited from the integrated deflector shield.

What made this iteration of the Juggernaut truly special, and worthy of it’s newly christened name - the Pernach - was the integrated pressor field generators mounted at either end of the vehicle, just below both command cockpits. The pressor field that was generated by these two emitters would produce a solid force field in front of the Pernach - acting as a scoop that’d scour the earth beneath it’s projected barrier. Not only would the newest ‘Turbo Tank’ be capable of clearing entire minefields with this projected energy prow, but it was capable - provided it had enough momentum behind the blow - to gouge entrenched bunkers out from the soil and sow chaos amongst a fortified enemy position.

With all of these advancements in hand, the newest iteration of the Juggernaut sought to surpass the storied legacy of its predecessor and earn the right to forge a legend of its own, that one day, maybe surpassed by something greater.
