Should the blade take in too much energy (for instance a steady barrage of electricity) it will reach a critical mass and discharge all of the stored energy.

- Lightsaber and blaster resistant
- As a sith sword, Reaver is cumbersome and unwieldy to most due to it's weight
- As a claymore, the blade is not useful in close quarters
History: Reaver is a blade which holds a legacy told in blood and fire. During the Age of Darkness, the blade was forged with the intent of acting as a bond between Darth Nexus, and Mand'alor the Wanderer, as a result of a temporary alliance. As such, the blade was a conjunction of the mandalorians and the sith. Forged in the fires of Concord Dawn, Nexus imbued it with the Dark Side whilst being created, turning it from a simple instrument into a Sith War Blade. The blade was the width of an average human's hand, and was measured at 47 inches in length, not including the ornate hilt which adorned it. After being forged, the blade quickly gained a reputation for having a thirst for blood. As the blade was imbued with Sith sorcery, it often displayed feats of legend, including deflecting lightsabers and blaster bolts. What made it truly unique- outside of appearance- however, was the fact that the blade seemed to store energy that would be released in a devastating attack. Of these occasions, only one was recorded.
A darkness fell upon the fields of war, as the Dark Tide and Mandalorian's rolled over the insurrectionists on Malachor V. The fight seemed all but finished. In an act of final defiance, the leader, Baron Raxil challenged Darth Nexus to single combat. The Baron was trained as a Sith, though he never obtained his rank.
The fight was a short one, as the Baron stepped forth, saber in hand. Nexus, wielding Reaver, did not appeared daunted in the slightest. They exchanged blows briefly- that was when the Baron knew he would not over power the Lord of Chaos. Thus, he used trickery- falling to the ground, he dropped his saber and pleaded for mercy. Nexus stopped for a moment, as he was a man of honor- the baron knew this. As the Sith did not press his attack, the Baron took his window of opportunity. A torrent of force lightning sprung from the man's hands. But they did not meet their mark.
Nexus, knowing the Baron for many years, expected his final act of defiance, and brought his blade into the lightning's path. The blade channeled the lightning, yet Nexus seemed unaffected by the attack. The blade grew bright as the baron expended his energy into it. After a few seconds, the Baron's barrage ended, and he lay on the ground panting.
"Please...mercy." He whispered.
"Mercy is for the gods. My duty is to send you to them." the Dark Lord responded.
And with that, Nexus lowered the tip of his glowing blade upon the barons chest. First came a pop, then a scream, then a sizzle, and then came smoke and darkness. When Nexus removed his blade, all that remained was a charred husk where the Baron once was. The Dark Lord strode away, but not before uttering a final line.
"The cost of dishonor is death. Kill them all."
Such was how the last stand of Baron Raxii ended, as his rebellion was quelled in a rain of blaster fire and a distinct lack of mercy.
