APPEARANCE:
Tharelle has aged in a dignified manner. Both his hair and close-cropped beard share the same dignified white of age and experience, each with subtle streaks of the black that characterized him in his younger years. He carries himself with the poise of long years of military service.
BIOGRAPHY:
Tharelle was born on Alexandria, in the Cadi System, to a blue-collar family. His mother worked in civil services while his father was part of the Alexandrian sanitation department. Rayce, however, wanted more. In the same vein as many of his contemporaries, he decided to join the Alexandrian Army. Rayce quickly moved up the ranks, winding up in Force Recon where he made a name for himself through numerous engagements. While in his 30's, he was chosen for the protective detail of the Alexandrian Monarchy. While on this protective detail, the King undertook a diplomatic mission that took them to Corellia, working on a trade deal for a particular item that he desired. During the course of the mission, the security team rotated allowing each member to have some time to see the sights. Tharelle ended up in a local bar where he had a bit too much Corellian ale, and wound up in the company of a Corellian woman for the evening. Twenty-one years later, he would learn that as a result of this encounter, he had a daughter who had found him and joined the Commonwealth to meet him.
Over time, Rayce Tharelle became too old for field work and so moved into the strategic planning side of operations. By the time Tharelle was 50, he had earned the rank of Lieutenant General. However, it became clear that he would advance no further due to his background - namely that he wasn't born of noble houses. Despite being one of the smartest men in the room, the generals gave him no respect. Time and time again, his advice was ignored with disastrous consequences. When Alexandria erupted in civil war, Tharelle kept his head down for a time, being a sympathizer to the cause. After the Alexandrian Navy fully declared allegiance to Horus, Tharelle began quietly rallying other Lieutenant Generals around him, along with lower officers in the command structure. At a high point of the war, Tharelle led his rag-tag group to take control of Army Central Command, the higher officers arrested and imprisoned until they could be dealt with appropriately. Tharelle then made contact with Admiral Horus, informing him that Alexandrian Army Command was behind him.
Having gained the respect of those left in high command, Tharelle was the natural choice for Commander-in-Chief.
