Description:
The Bird of Prey – Class Heavy Support Corvette was created to fill the role of a dedicated anti-fighter platform. The ship relies heavily on the support of other vehicles as it does not possess any anti-capital ship abilities. The power and strength in this ship come from its swift speeds combined with its dedicated armament.
The armament of this ship consists of 4 quad-lasers (3 on the top of the hull and one at the bottom). 10 of the slots usually reserved for turbo laser abilities have instead been replaced for 25 point-defense lasers to help fill the craft’s anti-fighter role. The final two turbo laser slots, as well as the proton torpedo slot, have been replaced with two cluster missile launchers on either side of the corvette. Due to the heavily anti-fighter armament, the ship is highly vulnerable other capital ships.
The ship possesses a single dome shield generator directly in front of the two vertically placed Ion Engines in the back of the ship. The ship is used to enforce blockades and conduct anti-fighter operations during combat. It has also proven useful in acting as a forward clearance vessel for ships entering asteroid fields.
