DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Boomerang setting: Drawing off the original tech of the Rodien Throwing knives, Ardgal implemented a return setting to these blades. They sync to Rashae's bio field and return to her hands with a simple gesture. She must have a free hand for this to work.
  • Sonic edge: With the flip of a switch the edges of each blade can become surrounded by a low grade sonic field that works like a sonic scalpel or a sonic cleaver. The sonic edge enhances the razor sharp throwing blade's damage even further.
  • Ion setting: these blades have an ion setting that encases their cutting edge with an ion field. This makes them super effective against droids, energy shields, and all manner of electronics in this setting.
  • Faraday cage: these knives have fancy copper Faraday cage to protect their essential electronic components from ion and emp attacks.
  • Easily concealable: the Rashae'Kal are not just knives to be placed in a sheath and pulled out for use. Rather, they seamlessly blend in with Rashae's clothing and can be worn as jewelry. For this reason they can easily be concealed as part of her clothing when discretion is needed.
  • Extended range and speed: While this thing won't go as fast as a slug thrower round or as far as a sniper rifle, it certainly will go a lot faster than your average throwing knife, and it will go further, effectively to about the range of your average blaster pistol.
Strengths:
++Various attack modes: The Rashae'Kal have various attack modes for every threat they face. Preparing for each attack in combat and changing for them for the needed situations is as easy as pressing one of the gem-encrusted buttons.
++Easily concealable: the Rashae'Kal are not just knives to be placed in a sheath and pulled out for use. Rather, they seamlessly blend in with Rashae's clothing and can be worn as jewelry. For this reason they can easily be concealed as part of her clothing when discretion is needed.
Weaknesses:
--Throwing knife: Throwing knives are not as easy to use as a blaster or a slug thrower, they take concentration, effort, and know how. Really, they take a lot of training and discipline to use even with a modicum of effectiveness. They don't really come with sights, so they are harder to aim. Also, once you throw them they take a lot longer to prepare for the next attack than your slug thrower or blaster.
--Switch over: The Sonic and Ion settings run off of different settings. When switching from the sonic to the ion settings it takes 120 seconds for the first to power down safely, the other to warm up, and power to full capacity.

DESCRIPTION
Ardgal knew Rashae needed some way to defend herself. He couldn't keep handing her his pistols when the crap hit the fan-especially knowing she couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. For a doctor she sure did have a knack for getting into trouble. And since he couldn't always be there to save the day, he did the second best thing--he made her a set of state of the art throwing knives.

First he began with the base-type Rodien throwing knives. These weapons were more than just aerodynamic blades. With built-in repuslor engines their distance, speed, and damage were greatly increased over your average throwing knife.

Next Ardgal addressed the issue of concealment. At galas, parties, or just for everyday use the Alderaanian minister of medicine couldn't just openly carry throwing knives for cultural or just situational purposes. To fix that, Ardgal designed the Rashae'Kal to easily conceal on her person as a pair of stylish bracelets and anklets. With the variety of unique jewelry sets out there, it would be pretty easy for them to blend in without much of a second glance.

Thridly, he wanted to make Rashae ready for a variety of threats. He made these gorgeous weapons able to switch into ionized damage or sonic damage in addition to the slashing and kinetic damage. It's as easy as pressing one of the gems on the surface. Both sonic and ion settings may not be active at the same time.

In the hands of anyone else, or on their body this is just a bracelet or throwing knife. Of course, they are pretty gorgeous and worth a lot at that for the material and valuable stones alone, so a thief could effectively sell them for a pretty penny. But really, anyone besides Rashae isn't going to be able to have the return effect or be able to access the ion or sonic capabilities. The Rashae'Kal are tuned in to her biometrics, and hers alone.

Lastly, Ardgal wanted to address the problem of--well the fact that the blades were gone once they were thrown. All Rashae has to do is gesture and the blades will return to her waiting hand.

All in all, these are just a set of well-designed concealable custom throwing knives.

Yeah, it was pretty much the only thing I could find that fit the design I had in mind. Sadly I still couldn't find any knife pics that seemed to fit the basic idea. :(

I don't find this to be a weakness, perhaps put it in the description.

I'd suggest a minor problem with maybe it takes a minute to switch modes or something like that, not overly design breaking.
