Description:
In essence the Rapid Fire Triple Gatling Weapon System (RFTGWS) is three tri-barrel Gatling slugthrowers attached together sharing the same trigger. As with all rotary cannons, each Gatling gun utilises multiple barrels, in this case 3 barrels, which rotate to provide a sustained rate of fire fire far greater than any weapon with a single barrel. The loading of the rounds and unloading of the used shells are both preformed simultaneously in different barrels as they rotate. The rotation also allows a short cooling off period between firing. The RFTGWS uses an electrical motor, powered by and internal power pack to rotate the barrel clusters. Because the weapon can only fire when the barrel reaches a particular point in the cycle, when firing the RFTGWS requires a short “power up” period to allow the barrel to spin to the necessary point.

Thanks to the triple barrel rotary cannon system, each Gatling gun has an extremely high fire rate of 1,500 rounds per minutes. With all 3 Gatling guns firing simultaneously the RFTGWS has a total fire rate of 4,500 rounds per minute. However, the fire rate of this weapon poses several problems for whoever is using it. For instance, the sheer number of bullets the RFTGWS consumes means that the ammunition is incredibly expensive and anybody with knowledge of how credits work will be unwilling to fire it for any sustained amount of time. The fire rate also means that the weapon is prone to overheating, which can cause serious damage to the internal components. To combat this the barrels and major internal components have been cast from Dallorian alloy, though this does not completely solve the problem as the weapon can still overheating. When the temperature gets too high and overheating occurs the weapon will automatically shut off the electrical motors powering the barrel clusters.

The RFTGWS’s main purpose was to defeat force users. This is done by simply overwhelming the target with rounds. In addition, the weapon fires slugthower ammunition, which the target will not be able to block with a lightsaber and will find difficult to continually block with the force. However, because this is a kinetic weapon single rounds will not be capable of penetrating thick armour, but constant sustained will be capable of stripping some heavy armour from the target.

As this weapon system is designed for use against infantry, its effectiveness against vehicles is very limited. An civilian or unarmoured vehicle will pose much of a threat to the RFTGWS as it is likely that the rounds will penetrate any windows and the thin metal shell common amongst most civilian vehicles. Armoured vehicles on the other hand will be difficult targets as the rounds from the weapon simply do no have enough force to penetrate the large armoured plating found on most combat vehicles.

Strengths:
· High rate of fire
· High kinetic damage
· Cannot be blocked by lightsabre
· Hard to block for force users

Weaknesses:
· Expensive due to the amount of ammunition it consumes
· Prone to overheating
· Unreliable

This looks pretty solid.

While I certainly agree that a lightsaber won't be able to block this, I wouldn't say that some applications of the Force wouldn't be able to do this. For example, someone who is very proficient with Force barrier might be able to take a few hits (though I don't think they'd be able to continually absorb this fire with impunity). There are probably other ways to use the Force to help protect oneself that I'm not aware of, but they too shouldn't used as a carte blanche to be immune to this weapon. I'd probably rephrase this to something like "is difficult to protect against with the Force" or something of that nature.

However, because this is a kinetic weapon it will be unlikely to penetrate tough armour unless loaded with specific ammunition.

I really think that this weapon, even without great penetration abilities, would be quite capable of stripping away armor simply from the sheer number of hits it could produce. But that's ultimately your call.

As a suggestion, I might consider adding something in the description for its use against vehicles.
