For his whole life, like every other Lancaster younger generation member, Randyl has lived in a complete lack of knowledge as of who his true parents are. All he knows is that he was raised in an orphanage on a Core world and that his family has been full of Force-users probably since the time the family came into existence. A few hints to his family have been left to him during his childhood, his future being greatly influenced by them.

Years ago, Randyl learned about his cousins Lilith and Jasmine Lancaster, the former also known as Darth Malificete. With a want to be as successful as these two, he knew he would have to follow the path of the Dark Side to keep up with his family's honour.
