Description:
Designed by Silara, or Darth Vitium, as the second set of frigates to be used by the One Sith fleet. Where the Massassi-class was primarily used to defend against smaller craft, the Rancor-class frigate was purposed for the express purpose of being an offensive ship and made to work well with the Massassi-class. While it carries no defensive armaments, or capital weaponry at all at that, it boasts a large amount of missiles, bombs, and so on. It is primarily intended to be used for assaulting larger capital ships, though it also is equipped with a good amount of cluster bombs and a relatively precise method of tracking and scanning to keep smaller ships at bay. Its engines allow for a decent amount of maneuverability for the size of the ship, though it still retains a similar speed to others of its class. The shielding of the Rancor-class was designed specifically for engagements with larger ships through use of the MD-FA shielding, although this creates a massive, glaring, weakness that would be fatal in an assault from two sides. The more of the ship the shield is forced to encompass, the more power it consumes, and the less effective the shields become. Shielding can also only encompass 54% of the total exterior of the ship based on power available for consumption while moving at the slowest speeds and firing the minimum of weaponry, any farther and the shields will cease to function.
Comparatively it is a very niche starship that is generally deemed unreliable by all but the most strategic of commanders, and thus generally will likely be collecting dust in the corner. Capable of packing a heavy punch and equipped with advanced sensory equipment, it suffers an insurmountable achilles heel suitable of such a potentially deadly ship. It should be noted that it was specifically designed to be used in pairs with one or more Massassi-class frigates.

Intent: To create a completely niche starship so someone will get off my back about their missile obsession. And to give the Massassi-class frigate the help it needs against larger ships while also giving it something that needs to rely on it for support.
